How anyone can dislike Frank is a mystery to me. On the field, he's probably the most impressive offensive force in White Sox history. Off the field, you never hear anything bad about him. He's not out doing dope, beating his wife, having children out of wedlock, etc, etc. Unfortunately, all of what we've read about Frank in his personal life has been tragedy, and I think that -- along with several injuries -- have hindered him in the past 4-5 years. It's unfortunate, but IMO he's a HOF'er and unless someone knows something about him that I don't, we all need to support THE MAN.

A-f***ING-MEN.

If I have to kiss someone's ass and "ask nicely" to get them to elaborate on THEIR OWN statement, it's probably not an elaboration that means much anyway. It took me 10 times (exaggeration, but you get the point) of asking to get "Todd Ritchie, Royce Clayton, etc etc" out of him. You'd think he'd put a little thought into it. He came up with 2 examples that a chimpanzee could have said. Nice analysis, Joshie

Nah, that's not fair. The inter-league schedules are unbalanced. I say that the best way is to give the team with the best record the HF advantage. But then they start griping about the differences in leagues, etc.... Then I suppose the only FAIR way is to trade off year by year like they had done for YEARS. It doesn't matter to me -- it won't affect me until the Sox are in the WS, which may not be for a while.

It only took 2 hours to get that out of you. So your "list of s*** players that the Sox have acquired" stands at 3 people? That's a pretty short list, if I may say so -- or would that be "too high and mighty" of me?
-
Someone else that doesn't pander to PC etiquette...nice to see.

God damn, they were 34 over and finished 17 games out of a playoff spot? Nowadays, that'll get you a wild card berth almost every year. Further evidence to show that there are FAR too many teams in MLB today. They need to get rid of at least 5 teams.
-
Yeah, that answers a lot of questions Don't make vague statements unless you are prepared to answer any follow-up questions about those statements.
-
Thank you for not answering my question.

I'd also be curious to know who else is on his list of "s*** players that the Sox have acquired", just to see if his opinion means anything to me. If someone like Jimenez is on that list, his comments carry no weight.

They have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go.

It doesn't surprise me. But it does disgust when the sell out some of the traditions of the game. One person's "selling out" is another person's "evolution". All depends on how you look at things. Baseball "sold out" when they created the DH. Baseball "sold out" when they thought up the concept of inter-league play. Baseball "sold out" when they decided to try having the winning league of the AS game have home field for the WS. Now, baseball has "sold out" because they changed the uniforms that will be worn at the afore-mentioned AS game. At the same time, there are probably many people who love the DH, inter-league play, the new AS rule, or the new jersies. All depends on your tastes, likes, and dislikes. Well, I've stated my opinion on the jersey issue. And I've stated mine -- "who cares".

And this is different from every other business in the world...how? And this surprises you...why? It's the real world man. People are looking to make money. Not even our national past time is immune to human nature.

Collins had a career BA of .333. Fox's was around .290. There's a lot of guys who have a career average of .290. Not many have one in excess of .330. Collins also won 4 WS rings ('10, '11, '13 for PHA, and '17 for the Sox), and hit .328 in 34 career WS games. Fox hit .375, but only played in 6 games, and they lost the series ('59 to the Dodgers). Both are HOF'ers, but I think Collins gets the nod because he was a winner.

He's too busy with his band to manage a ML team.

Doesn't mean much. It's important, but not vital. The fact that MLB felt the need to add that "perk" to the game proves that the "most exciting all-star game in sports" has been reduced to basically a meaningless exhibition.
-
We play San Diego this coming weekend at home. It'll be interesting to see if SD pitchers try to throw at D'Angelo. If they do, it will be equally interesting to see if Sox pitchers defend him.
-
Christ, who cares? It's an exhibition game that means very little anymore, so why does the uniform matter?

I seem to remember Willie taking BP and shagging flyballs during the LA series. I'd guess he's healthy now.

Way to leave out the end of the quote. You know for someone who complains about Frank being "misunderstood", you think you would have more class than to take half of a quote from an article. I read that part of the quote too, but it seemed so "cliche" that it was obvious the pathetic leader was trying to back track when he realized he was doing the same thing he had the nerve to challenge Frank for last year. Hopefully, this slump puts some humility in him. He will obviously pull out of this slump at some time (well, he cannot get any worse now can he?)......hopefully then he will learn to shut is trap when he is doing well instead of telling the world how everyone else is a baby for not getting to play Can't say that I disagree with you. A slice of humble pie for PK. Now, it's time for him to wake the f*** up and earn his money.

Until I read the post, I thought we had claimed RUBEN Rivera, the guy who stole stuff from Jeter and made that horrible baserunning blunder last week for the Giants. *Whew*

Of course. Her bias for Miles has reared its ugly head for months now.
