  1. Never said they were. Around here, it's running rampant. Because Hawk actually looked at the play objectively. Plus, he knows what he's talking about, unlike some people in here.
  2. I wish Frank was hitting .300+. That way, he could call out Paulie and Paul can see what it feels like. Unfortunately, Frank's not having all that good of a year, so he can't really do that. I hope he gets hot before we trade PK so Frank can have 1 last parting shot.
  3. That's Brando's argument, not mine.
  4. Gets DRILLED in the elbow and has to retire?
  5. Thanks for all the info. Because of my cable situation I'm limited to WGN games and since we moved south I can't seem to get Rooney and Farmer for the nite games. Got to depend on Soxnetters to fill me in. No problem. I, like you, used to be dependant on the internet for info, but this season I have the MLB Extra Innings deal through my cable company, so I get to see roughly 80% of the games. The other times I follow at CBSsportsline.com -- they have a simple, easy to follow update as the game is played. If you have a DSL or Cable modem, it's practically real-time (about a 5 second delay). With dial-up, it's more like a minute or so behind, but it's still better than trying to sift through SportsCenter for 30 seconds of highlights of the other team kicking our ass.
  6. All I know is that our really good position prospects that will be All-Stars for years and years in a row are Reed and Webster....and Borchard, if you count him. Otherwise, I am f***ing clueless. First lessson. None of them are all stars for years to come. A LARGE majority of cant miss prospects, actually MISS. This is what I was saying the other day. Some people on here spend so much time following and evaluating our minor league talent, but SO often the "sure stars" fall flat on their faces when they reach the major leagues. It just seems pointless to me to speculate until you see what they do on the big stage. Afterall, Mark Buehrle came out of no where and went from AA to our ace in just 1 year. I don't know where he was in terms of ranking in our minor league system, but I think he was basically middle-of-the-pack. Meanwhile, guys who are ranked highly in our minor league system like Jon Rauch has struggled everytime he's been given a shot at success in the majors. Maybe Sylvia Browne can tell us which youngsters will pan out
  7. It's a shame that the only thing that'll be remembered about Sunday is that "Jose cost us the game". The reason it's a shame is because without him, we probably wouldn't have had a lead -- and certainly not a 3 run lead. He had a very nice game with the exception of that last play on a ball that should have been caught, even though it was by NO means an easy play. He was 2-3 with a single, double, walk, stolen base, a run scored (on a little flyball to SHORT left field, and he made a nice baserunning decision and scored), made a very nice leaping catch on a line drive, and helped the Sox turn 2 double plays. He could have been the player of the game had the Sox been able to hold on, but as it turns out, he'll be remembered as the goat. Funny how things turn out sometimes.
  8. Royce Clayton doesn't make that catch either. He probably doesn't get a glove on it. But yes, the play should have been made by Jose. But, in reality, we never should have got to the point where a play like that was needed just to continue in extra innings. With a 3 run lead and our bullpen rested and ready to go, there's no excuse for losing. NONE. However, the great thing about baseball is that there's a game nearly everyday, so it's easy to move on.
  9. Paul Konerko Just a feeling. (in yellow to make it almost invisible and to avoid any ridicule ) Also, what if he doesn't start? Can I make a new pick? If not, I'll do it anyway -- if PK doesn't start, I want Borchard.
  10. Amen to both of those statements. If you disagree with someone, go ahead and reply and indicate that to the person, but leave the insults and name calling out of it. If you are unwilling or unable to do that, don't bother replying at all, because there's nothing less productive than juvenile swearing and name calling.
  11. He's one of our players that actually looks like he's trying -- why would we have a problem with him? Those who are close-minded and stubborn may have a problem with it, but there's nobody like that here.
  12. This is just a cop-out excuse IMO. All we ask of umpires is that they call a CONSISTENT game...equal for BOTH teams. If you want to call a high strike, call it...for both teams. If you want to call an inside strike, call it...for both teams. If you want to call a low strike, call it...for both teams. If you want to call an outside strike, call it...for both teams. It is not a difficult concept to adhere too, and those umpires who cannot should not be in the majors. They should be tested on consistency, but that's it.
  13. Who all is going to be going? I'd like to have an idea ahead of time. It's actually out of my way to go to The Bilmont, but I'll go if there's going to be more than 2 or 3 people.
  14. 2 is correct. Took 2 out of 3 @ Cleveland April 8-10, and 2 out of 3 @ Detroit April 11-13. We've split 1 series on the road, and that was @ Toronto May 26-29. On the road as whole in series, we are 2-6-1 (including this Cleveland series, as the best we can do is salvage 1 out of 3). Just an FYI, at home we are 5-4-0.
  15. "In My Humble/Honest Opinion" = IMHO
  16. Unfortunately, the Yankees held on to win 10-9. Sorry for not giving the final update -- I was too depressed.
  17. You can cheer and root for a team just as much at home in front of your TV as you can at the ballpark. The fact that you have the opportunity and fortune of attending many live games doesn't mean you're any more of a Sox supporter than anyone else. Maybe you are one of the Sox biggest fans, I don't know -- but the mere fact that you attend many games doesn't prove a thing.
  18. Wells just threw a hanger to Eric Munson, and luckily for him it stayed in the park for an RBI-double. It's now 10-9, and the Tigers have the tying run on 2nd, but there are 2 out. They're going to the pen, and Juan Acevedo will try to shut the door.
  19. Soriano just bombed one off of Steve Sparks (who has already pitched 7 innings in relief!) to give the Yankees a 9-8 lead. Now Posada takes him yard. 10-8. Hopefully the Tigers can tie it up so this game can continue!
  20. I dont care about ANY stats, and if you have been paying such close attention to my posts, youd know that by now. What do i need stats for? Why is everyone so down on stats?
  21. We took 2 out of 3 against Toronto May 19-21.
  22. *Feels loved for a moment, then realizes that Brando called me a Clud *
  23. Looks like Jerry was wearing a blindfold when god spray painted him.
