He looks pretty lost at the plate lately. Sure, he can muscle a ball out of the park with his strength a few times, but it seriously looks like he is swinging on one leg. I'm not sure how long we can afford to have a 3 hitter batting .218, or even .230, no matter how many jacks he has. His OBP is also inching down close to .300...not good. What do you think we should do if this continues through, say, the next two-three weeks?

ERA means nothing. Look at his April outing against the Twins. The guy had a WHIP of 2+ but an ERA of something like 3.5

Finally

Check out his WHIP. He should have an ERA about a run higher than it is. Flat out, Contreras is a mediocre pitcher with good stuff. He can't throw strikes consistently enough, and when he does, he occasionally gets really shelled.
