  1. I don't think Thomas deserved more points than Dye.
  2. Iguchi- there's no way he gets twenty but Uribe is the only one with some kind of chance if he hits one of those streaks.
  3. I turn 20 today. What do I win?
  4. I don't feel like making on but if anyone could make me a sig with either Anderson, Dye, or Cintron or whatever is easy. I'm too busy at the moment to do one. Thanks
  5. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) Since I'm watching the Detroit broadcast so I don't know what Hawk is saying. But if you think I'm being a homer for finding fault with the umps zone, then you have no clue. the umps have sucked so far.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) Maybe if our starting pitchers didn't have to nibble with every batter they face, we wouldn't have to rely on the umpire to give us a couple of inches off the corner. yeah that would be nice but it would also help if we could get some calls to help out our shitty pitching.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) Seriously. I am SICK of all the umpire complaints. Should I blame Sandy for "putting the glove in the wrong spot"?
  8. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) The inning could have been much, much worse. true but those crap hits can really kill a team.
  9. another strike that wasn't called.
  10. wow that should have been a strikeout.
  11. http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?t=55 I always wanted a hat or jersey with the 1939-1948 logo on it..
  12. The 37,839 fans at U.S. Cellular Field on Thursday composed the Sox 42nd sellout of the season and 22nd in a row http://www.post-trib.com/cgi-bin/pto-story...z1_spor_03.html
  13. text needs to be changed.
  14. Of course I've gotten a lot of batting practice balls. I remember catching a Torii Hunter ball in the outfield bare handed and it left a mark of the laces. Besides that I have gotten about five other batting practice balls.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1 was going to get it for my bro but I was curious if they wore something like it as a throwback recently.
  16. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...mMakeTrack=true Anyone remember seeing the sox wear these in the last few years?
  17. He can't be much worse than Politte was.
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) This thread was just quoted by Mac, Jurko, & Harry. -- They're not going to come out an say they found some spiff on a message board though. I know they were quoting this thread because the info provided is inaccurate. The Sox have won the first two games of a series 14 times this season FALSE. They've won the third game, completing the sweep 7 times TRUE . 4 times in April (DET, KC, MIN, LAA) and 3 since (OAK, CIN, STL). They're just 3 for their last 10 when they had the chance to sweep, and have dropped their last 5 attempts. April 10 DET, won last game 1-0 April 17 KC, won last game 2-0 April 21 Min, won last game 3-0 April 28 LAA, won last game 4-0 May 19 ChC, lost last game 4-1 May 22 Oak, won last game 5-1 June 6 Det, lost last game 5-2 June 9 Cle, lost last game 5-3 June 16 Cin, won last game 6-3 June 20 STL, won last game 7-3 June 23 Hou, lost last game 7-4 June 27 Pitt, lost last game 7-5 June 30 CHC, lost last game 7-6 July 28 Balt, lost last game 7-7 July 31 KC, lost last game 7-8 I counted 15 times In my original stats I forgot to include June 16th series and the June 20th series. +Please correct me if I'm wrong+
  19. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Is he the same as the "I GOOOOTTTT BEEEEERRR" guy?
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Neither pitcher feels comfortable pitching up and in on a lefty. Thornton's slider is coming around, but it's still not reliable. Cotts, on the other hand, seems to have completely lost his offspeed pitch, and that's why he's getting smacked around. Do you think those are things Coop can help with or is it all mental and because they do not have trust in their pitches?
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Just dont pitch to a specific pattern. Pretty much on 2 strikes with a lefty on lefty we seem always go low and away. We need to mix up the pattern a bit. After 2 strikes, the hitter is looking for a zone just to put the bat on the ball. When they know what the zone is already, its just looking for roation at that point. I definitely noticed that w/ Cotts in Balt and Thornton in KC
  22. Cotts pitched outside and got hit against Baltimore and Thornton pitched outside to KC and got beat. It kills.
  23. OFF DAY STATS Here's an interesting stat. The Sox have won the first two games of a series 13 times this year and are 5-8 in the third and final game. Since June 6th we have played in sixteen series and fourteen of them have been three game series. And the part I want to point out is since June 6th we have lost the final game six times in a row after winning the first two. So that is six out of the last fourteen three game series. In three game series this year we are: 17-11 in the opener 20-8 in game two 13-15 game three 7-8 after winning the first two (originally I said 5-8 but I did not count two series) 3-2 after losing the first two TOTAL: 50-33 Total of 28 three game series this year so far equalling 84 games * I did not could the series vs. LA Angels because game three was rained out In two game series: 3-0 in game one 1-2 in game two I am putting the LA Angels series that was rained out in this category for now until the game is played on Monday. We have swept one series. There have been 3 two game series which equals six games. In four game series: 2-2 in the opener 2-2 in game two 2-2 in game three 3-1 in game four We have played 4 four game series while equals 16 games. Also we have never won or lost the first three. TOTALS: 4-2 in two game series games 50-34 in three game series games 9-7 in four game series games total: 63-43
