7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) And to think there were a few people on the board saying that Cotts is still more reliable than him. A lot of people seem to have trouble letting go of past performances. I think we're all guilty of that one way or another. It's the same thing with Pods. He's clearly not the player he was last year, but people cling to his past accomplishments and defend him because of that.

I FISHING love Thornton.

QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) fair enough... No doubt he deflates the fans... but I think the players are made of tougher stuff. They're human like you and I. You don't think players ever get deflated or even pack it in sometimes?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) How our outfield defense is setup now is how it should be at the start of the game. Unless of course we get B. Clark. And then he goes into LF. I really hope they do that because it would help us out big time. And the fact that I have been asking for it for over a month helps, also

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) they don't look too discouraged or deflated to me... Clearly I'm not going to change your opinion on this, especially after today. I would bet a lot of people agree that Javy deflates the rest of the team with his pitching, though. Agree to disagree.

QUOTE(champ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) That's what good teams do, they pick up their teammates. EVENTUALLY, the pitching will return the favor and pick up the offense when it's not going well. Yeah, I bet that'll happen.

QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) I hate the way the offense quits on Ozzie and Vasquez I never said they give up. They just get discouraged and deflated.

Thank God for our offense, yet again bailing out our pitchers.

Abreu and Lidle to the Yankees
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) No. We don't need any trades. No trade will make our starters magically start pitching better. And that's what we need. 5 starting pitchers who pitch better than the group we've sent out there this year. Shockingly, there's no such market with 5 better pitchers than the defending World Series champs rotation are available. What about Zito? If he's available, he'd clearly be an upgrade over Garcia/Vazquez. That would certainly give us a better chance against some of these teams.

QUOTE(champ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) What gives you the reasoning that they would never give 100%? You don't have any, so why the dumb assumption? The offense can't score 20 runs everyday. It's not about bailing out Vazquez, it's about not being able to push tons and tons of runs across everday. Do you watch the games? When Vazquez pitches, and especially after he gives up the runs, they clearly look deflated.

Remember that poll about who our most consistent starter is? There is no doubt that it is Javy. That bastard is like clockwork.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
I think the offense has just gotten tired of bailing out Vazquez when he CONSTANTLY puts them in deficits. There has to be a point, which I believe they've already hit, where they realize he's just going to give all the runs back and they just don't care to try as hard anymore.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Who agrees that Vazquez affects the play of the entire team with his crappy pitching?
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
You can actually SEE how Vazquez negatively affects the rest of this team. You can fishing see it! He just takes the wind out of everyone's sails. This team will not make the playoffs with Garcia and Vazquez in the rotation. KW has about a day to get rid of one of them. This team, as is, will not make the playoffs.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Hey, I thought our starters were supposed to get better as the year went on? You know, the problem is supposed to solve itself. Why is it that our starters are getting WORSE as the year wears on? And Vazquez should start having his Cy Young second half any day now. Any day...

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Ozzie doesn't seem to take winning seriously. It's no surprise that the team has shown much less heart this year compared to last. How can you stay competitive when your manager cares about individual pitching stats more than winning the game?

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Neal Cotts has reverted to early 2005 Neal Cotts. He lets every single inherited runner score. OZZIE GUILLEN IS A PATHETIC MANAGER
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
YAYYYYYYYYYY OZZIE YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE LET HIM PUT THOSE 2 RUNNERS ON AFTER HE GAVE UP THE HOMER THAT'S SOME QUALITY MANAGING RIGHT THERE Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 02:15 PM) Yes sir!!! As DJ said, the base running paid off. It seems like it's been ages since we saw a simple hit like that. Anyone else with flashbacks to Game 4 of the WS? Exactly what I was thinking.

7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Thank God for Dye, picking up pullboy.
-
7/30/06 White Sox v. Orioles
Why would their manager pull their starter, who usually struggles, before he actually implodes? Pretty crappy managing, if you ask me. You're supposed to let him give up 5 runs and 2 homers in an inning before replacing him. Ha, fishing idiot.

Abreu and Lidle to the Yankees
We need a trade. Can't have our usual crappy 2nd half because we don't have a 15-game lead this year. Need a trade to bolster the team.

The Scotty Pods special.

Just give us 2 more innings, Javy.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) Exactly. His 0-6 record and near 7 ERA are misleading. He reminds me of Catfish.
