Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
Wow. I bet a healthy washburn makes that play. He usually is a good fielder. And he looked awful trying to field that bunt right there.

2 runs on Paul F'IN Bryd
Guys Paul Byrd won 17 games for the Royals in 2002 and had an ERA of 3.74 this season. He got little run support which was one of the reasons why he didn't have a great record. There is no shame in losing to Paul Byrd. The guy is a good pitcher.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) How many pro athletes step up their game and completely dominate when they're sick?! I'm a little worried about Washburn tonight. He needs to throw a couple wild pitches and get down in the count, the way Clement pitched. If he's on his game, it won't be good! Before the series started, I told a friend of mine I wouldn't be surprised if we lost 3 in a row.. after winning 8 in a row.. and then after losing 3 in a row, we'll go on another 8 game winning streak, enough to win the World Series! That's typically how things have been going in 2005. yes but the conditons are brutal.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
I don't think Washburn will get out of the 4th inning. It is gonna be cold outside and he is still sick.

Lets tip our hats to Byrd
Byrd is a pretty good pitcher who didn't get a lot of run support this season. He pitched a very good game on short rest.

Twins Offseason Updates
I wouldn't mind seeing LeCroy in a Sox Uniform. Be a nice guy to come off the bench.

Marte
Also I for one am not booing Marte. Im booing Ozzie for using him in that situation.

Marte
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) I wouldn't use his game 3 performance as an indicator. Some of his pitches woulda been called strikes on any other day. You saw Ozzie's reactions later. I'm tellin' ya, Marte got hosed (in that game). excuses excuses. Ok when you don't throw strikes than you aren't going to get the close calls. I mean some of those pitches before the ones where he was "squeezed" weren't even close.

I saw Two for the Money tonight. One of Pacino's best performances in a long time. Matthew McConaughey turned in an excellent job of acting. This is a fun movie that really is very powerful in the end.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Interesting note: I took a look at marte's splits agains the Yanks and Angles. Yanks: 1.64 ERA in 11.0 IP, 8 H, 10 BB, 4 SO Angels: 1.93 ERA in 9.1 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 11 SO He must be hoping we play the Angels. Side Note: Agains the Red Sox - 3.75 ERA in 12.0 IP, 11 H, 6 BB, 9K that walk to strike out ratio scares the s*** out of me.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I rememeber hearing someone on the radio a while who had done an interview with Ozzie. About halfway though the interview, someone came in and gave him stats or a scouting report or something liek that, he took it, the person walked out and he threw it in the TRASH!!! than KW should talk to him about this. You can't go by your gut all the time.
