  1. Bear Down, Chicago Bears, make every play clear the way to victory; Bear Down, Chicago Bears, put up a fight with a might so fearlessly. We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T-formation. Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown. You're the pride and joy of Illinois, Chicago Bears, bear down.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) I think after everyone heard my audio FutureSox update that I'm the obvious choice. Silky smooth. uh huh. With out a doubt.
  3. It's about a year old however it talks about his life growing up as a kid in the projects in Chicago. I found it when i was cleaning out my closet and it was in one of the old ESPN the Magazine's. Here is the online one. Link
  4. I think Avant showed why he is the best reciever in the Big Ten right now. He caught almost every pass to him. he will be a STUD NFL wide out. You heard it here first.
  5. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Hell I would start the Count over Girlie.....errr I mean Buerhle right now This post has been edited by the Soxtalk staff to remove objectionable material. 6. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) No he was arguably(Garland could have a case) the best pitcher in the 1st half in Chicago. Now he's gone to s***. Right now, I'd take Contreras in a head-to-head matchup against Buehrle. And I actually like Buehrle alot. One of my favorite players on the team because he speaks his mind. Jose is probably my favorite player on the team right now however even i wouldn't do that and i have defended Jose despite all the cristicism he has gone through. Buehrle has won 15 games. He is more proven then Contreras and he is going through a rough stretch. He isn't garbage either. His ERA for the 2nd half before yesterday night's start was 3.86. That's not that bad. Everybody should've known that his 2.58 ERA at the break wasn't gonna last because that is very hard for any pitcher to do.
  7. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) I don't think either of them are aces. Our staff is 2 number 2 starters 2 number 3's and one number 5. Buehrle is a good pitcher but he's not an ACE. Santana or Colon?
  8. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) :headshake Your Point is??? is that both of those guys are considered aces yet we don't consider Buehrle an ace. Doesn't make much sense if ya ask me.
  9. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) That's just what Josh does. In fact, I can't recall seeing a post other than a headshake or something to that end. That's his gig. me?
  10. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Henne fumbled the ball at the 2 and the defender recovered in the endzone for a touchback. Either way, Henne looked horrendous pretty much all game long. He showed off a great arm, but didn't have a clue where it was going. Kevin Grady is going to be a real good one though, and both QB's in this game will be NFL 1st round picks before its all said and done in my opinion. i mean his best WR was wide open in the endzone. Not a man covering him.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) BS. He just happens to have a bad game or he struggles whenever he's up against a playoff-caliber team. There's no way that Mark Buehrle is an ace. Aces beat the best teams, Mark Buehrle doesn't. I'm sure he'll win his next few starts against the Royals, Tigers, _____ garbage team, and then everyone will be happy and say, "See, that's our ace!" Then, he'll get destroyed by a good team in the playoffs...and he was just struggling at the time. still the best pitcher in Chicago and one of the best in the AL. My god 2 months ago we were saying Buehrle was god. Now he is garbage.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) You sure it didn't say trailing by 0.02? Millwood - 3.11 Buehrle - 3.13 no i was saying the paper actually had Halladay first and Buehrle second. Im saying that Buehrle is behind millwood by 0.02.
  13. Than i guess Colon isn't an ace because he sucks against good teams. Also Johan Santana has well how do i say this lightly Struggled against the great Royals.
  14. well im glad that Jon Garland pitched a gem today against a great team. anybody who says that Garland is better than Buehrle is a moron.
  15. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Millwood is lower. oh ok. The paper said Buehrle. by .02.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Me too. The just blew their national title chances if they ever had it to begin with. With a Michigan win and an Ohio State win they could've been #2 in the nation. But they'll be around #15 or so after this. I wanna just go into my room and never come out again, I'm so pissed off. i wouldn't go that far. They will be in the top ten however they have to get their asses in gear right now.
  17. im now gonna throw up after seeing that horrible excuse for a football game that Michigan played.
  18. They f***in beat themselves. Henne fumbles the ball in the ENDZONE! IN IT! Than in the 3rd Quarter when your best reciever is open i mean WIDE OPEN in Jason Avant he throws the ball to the tight end who was double covered and it is intercepted. Henne is not even close to being the best QB in the Big Ten.
  19. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) There's a difference between being in a bad time and losing against every team. Buehrle's bad times seem to happen when he faces the better ballclubs. I think there is a direct correlation. It's not a bad time for Buehrle, he's simply getting beat by and good club he faces. He feasts on the Royals and Tigers of the MLB, but I wouldn't feel to confident in him facing guys like Vlad in the playoffs. The Tigers are a good hitting team.
  20. In fact Colon has an 8.44 ERA against the Yankees a 5.54 ERA against Boston So Mark's splits against contenders are actually better than Colon's.
  21. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Once again no he doesn't. Halladay is going to be out of qualifying pretty soon. I think in the next couple days or so.
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) There's a difference between being in a bad time and losing against every team. So people who says he can't beat good teams. Au Contrear my friend.
