  1. Do you think it's an advantage to us that we're having this rest period or will the Yankees/Angels still be in the groove when they come to Chicago?
  2. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) Thats awesome... what about an ALDS one? i thought it was
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) My father was born and raised in Kentucky ... son of a sharecropper. He went to Chicago in the mid 50's to find work .... yada yada yada My father was born in a Yorkshire pit village and doesn't know a slider from a swing set. He spent most of my childhood trying to get me into ferret racing and badger baiting. He cried for a week when I told him I was dating an American soldier and cried for a month when I told him I was marrying HER. I only started to follow the Sox so I would have something to talk about to my Yankie wife, oh and I liked the logo and uniform colours. Is that me driving the bandwagon? If so we've come a long way in the last 3 years.
  4. Is it just me or should he be re christened "Cool Hand" Duke as in Cool Hand Luke?

  8. This is my first time watching ESPN on TV, I thought announcers were suposed to be impartial. Sounds like these guys are wearing RED underwaer!
  9. Wahey, my stuffs now been shipped. Just got to wait for thesister in law to get around to posting it on now.
  10. I've done a few marathons before although not this one. My advice re family and freinds is not to have them try to follow you on the course, it's never worked for me. Possibly get them to wait at the half way point, a big cheer can help, and meet you at the end. Something I did in my last one was to write my first name in BOLD somewhere on the front, I lost count the number of times I was cheered on by name by complete strangers, it helped through a few rough patches ( and there will be some!) Most of all, don't get cought up in worrying about pace/time, as it's your first just enjoy it. BTW with the help of my club I've just been accepted into next years London.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) Ahem.... Bobby JENKS Rookie power-pitcher phenom of the 2005 AL Central Champion Chicago White Sox.... Ask and ye shall recieve; this or this

  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) I like it. I understand why you did it, but I don't like having Clement being the focal point of the desktop. I know what you mean. But I love the way he looks so dispondent.
  14. You don't know the half of it. I ordered a shirt do be dispatched to family in VA to post on to me, this way I save $25 in shipping costs. First I got an email saying if I didn't phone to confirm the order it would be cancelled, having done this I got a further e mail telling me to contact my bank because there was a problem with the card I had used, there wasn't, when I phoned MLB.com to see what was upit took 20 minutes (international phone rates!) to find out that because the UK has no states the "system" wouldn't accept my billing address. I remind you this was for a $20 order, I previously placed a $200 order with them with no problem. Eventualy everything was OK'd. I got home tonight to another e mail telling me the shirt was on backorder and I to have no expected delivery date. NEVER again.
