  1. QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 07:57 AM) I think the worst thing I can remember seeing is Pittsburgh fans throwing alkaline batteries at Dave Parker (who was a Pirate at the time) because he wasn't playing well enough in their opinion. No one has thrown batteries at Soriano yet, so Pittsburgh still holds the all-time douche title. White Sox fans threw a bunch of coins at Reggie Jackson once - he picked them up and thanked the fans for the tip, IIRC. Didnt Philly fans do that to JD Drew too?
  2. The way I look at it is this, Vick owned, operated, and financed a crime operation that included dog fighting and drug dealing, as well as some guns here and there. He also lied to a grand jury(as well as Goodell and the owner of the Falcons) and was busted on that as well. What he did was completely pre-meditated, and the animal cruelty aspect was just one part of what was wrong with what he did. Stallworth killed a man, there is no getting around that. However, it was an accident, he did not intend to kill that man when he was driving around that morning. He was completely stupid and ignorant, but he wasnt trying to kill a man. The situations arent comparable enough to me where I can look at it as "Why did Vick get this treatment, and Stallworth get a completely different treatment?" . It just isnt there for me.
  3. QUOTE (joeynach @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 04:32 AM) booo booing is not cool help a thread along it does not, so please refrain
  4. QUOTE (Stocking @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 04:01 AM) I mentioned earlier, but i cant decide if I like criss angel or not I dont know what there is to like. All I see is an egotistical illusionist who thinks he is tricking everyone into believing he is a magician.
  5. The Ultra Wildcat. Vick, McNabb, and Westbrook in the same backfield
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 05:54 PM) Looks like the guy turned himself in. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/08...himself-in.html How much dirt on this kid comes up in the next 6 months?
  7. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 05:29 PM) You are correct I was thinking I was onto something with this "Wise Master Buehrle" With all the stories about how he's like a mentor to John Danks and Clayton Richard, along with Wise making that historic catch and people essentially treating Buehrle like a master, I thought it was funny. Picture Richard and Danks bowing down saying "ohhh thank you wise master Buehrle for the information and knowledge you have taught us" Someone with better photoshop skills than me needs to make you a sig or avatar with Buehrles face on a movie ancient master's body. Maybe the master in Kung Fu Panda or something, lol
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) Good post. One amendment though: You said we're gonna lose games, lots of them and win games lots of them. I say: We're gonna win as many games as we lose. .500 baby. Soooooo, To you, the season really is lost.
  9. I like to remember the 06 Cardinals by recalling the complete ass whoopin the Sox put on them early in the year
  10. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) If an incident like this occurred at Toyota Park, a security guard with access to a radio would work with security cameras to identify the person responsible. Even if they didn't have the information available immediately, they'd stick around and wait. In this instance, everyone knew it came from a small area. I would have thought it'd be more important to identify the correct person than try to remove them immediately. Even if it meant standing around for five minutes (because it doesn't appear he has a headset on). Unfortunately, these Cub fans (and Chicago Fire fans are the same) aren't going to rat on each other. Everyone saw him do it, yet, no one willfully confessed. I bet if the picture NSS posted made the papers, he'd be found. In this day and time, that goof had to have told friends and family he has going to the game. I'll bet he has long since shaved the facial hair, too. Go to the trib and suntimes front pages. That guys face is all over the net It wont be long
  11. Wow, the kid that threw the beer(supposedly) pinned it on the other guy. Another level of class that us lowly Sox fans cannot hope to ascend to
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 01:31 PM) Why is it hilarious. .500 teams are tough to follow. We basically lose every other day and there's always a goat in a loss. We lose a lot. The team is a flirt. The jekyll and hyde nature of this website with any win or loss is the definition of hilarious
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) While others have focused on the "2009 is a wash" part...take note of the other thing. 2010...this team could be really, really good. I totally agree that looking forward this team can become something special. I just dont think that the present should be ignored
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:42 AM) He admitted we can win the division, but that it's fairly obvious we won't make much noise. I don't think it's silly at all. We're looking at the same scenario as 2008. i dont think anything is fairly obvious besides the fact that the rotation the Sox would walk into the playoffs with is fairly obviously awesome.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:20 AM) Sorry, Kyle, but my post in the other thread that we're winning the World Series is better than your little "going on a run" post. With that said, I agree. I cannot call the World Series as of yet. I just sense a nice run in them in the next few weeks, where they can catch 1st place and put a little distance behind them.
  16. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:18 AM) I hope we don't make the playoffs this year, only so we don't get embarrassed by a team with some real talent. Hopefully next year will get better when we get rid of some of the old, slow players and infuse even more youth. how can you sit there in gamethread after gamethread b****ing and moaning about every little thing that happens to the Sox, then hold this mindset? I just dont understand this at all. Look at what the Sox have done against some of their likely competition in the playoffs(Angels and Yankees) QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:19 AM) Go away. This is the worst post in the history of this forum. The Yankees and Angels really kicked our ass didn't they? LOL, this is like the condensed version of what I said
  17. im going to make this prediction right now, at the end of this ANGRY thread: I think the Sox are about to go on a significant run, I do not think the Twins or the Tigers have the horses to compete with this team, and the Sox are --> Flame On
  18. QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 08:04 AM) Welcome to Soxtalk. Oh thanks! first time poster here.....how did that forum moderator thing get on my profile? weird
  19. "Brainless" by The Urge at the Copper Dragon. Circa 1997
  20. Seeing how Minnesota and Detroit are equally as bad right now, and the Sox are only 2 games back, I think this kind of talk is silly.
  21. All I can say about this thread is that it doesnt happen if Pods doesnt get picked off of third in the 10th inning. So there, I said that. Pods blew the game
  22. Isnt it unlawful detainment if the Kanes gave him the money? They paid him, the dispute started with the change.
  23. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) I need a new memeber name in honor of this post I think you should change it to Memeber27
  24. that was for sure a hip toss. he may have been running backwards but he definitely got the advantage
