I saw this in this mornings Sun-Times. I disagree with this assessment, I think that Ozzie/KW replaced those players with guys whose actions spoke louder than their personalities. Aside from AJ, this team is pretty low-key and out of the spotlight.

Official Get Jermaine Dye to start the ALL Star game Thread

bump this thread. Jermaine is on a tear -
QUOTE(UC76 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) I don't recall Zambrano having problems with teammates. It's usually aimed at himself or the umps. Plus, he's young. He can mature. Everyone is crazy at 21 or 22. He's just a little moreso. he has shown up a few teamates on the field this year, I think Matt Murton and maybe Hairston, I cannot remember for sure. Something about them making an error on the field, and he got all pissed about it and started pointing fingers and stuff. And he is a problem for teammates when he pulls some of these antics, how are you supposed to go to play for a pitcher who is telling the other team that he is going to bean them in the head? And it isnt the first time he has done that either. I definitely agree he may be Bi-Polar or have ADHD, he certainly displays the signs when he is on the field. I think the Sox would make sure he would agree to sorting himself out while he is a member of the club, but I dont think he is ever going to be on the Sox so it is really moot.

Rumor heard during Phillies-Dodgers game...

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) The rumor's probably Soxtalk-driven like the 'roids thread was. a similar thread just showed up on chicagosports.com the news is spreading, and spreading fast. Maybe Soxtalk can will this trade to happen like the New York newspapers do -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) Passion/Intensity or Insanity? The guy is a bonafide nutcase. He'll be out of the league by the age of 26 after striking out on a pitch off the outside corner he'll go bizerk breaking his bat in half over his head then stabbing the umpire to death with the broken end of the bat. DO YOU REALLY WANT THAT TO HAPPEN ON THE SOUTH SIDE!?!? WELL, DO YOU !?!? QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) Are you forgetting that pitchers in the AL don't hit?? Why do you even think a Cubs-Sox trade is going to happen?? :headshake :headshake :headshake And I don't want that s***. He's been taking shots at us since he signed w/ the Cubs. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Zambrano would insist on hitting in the AL, he believes himself to be a great hitter and is in fact a switch hitter. This will leave the AL team with an option of who to use the DH on. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Well do you think a manager would take that risk of him getting injured? QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) It doesn't really matter, it will be part of his next contract. The clause will give him the option to hit in any game played with the DH. If you try to stop him he will eat your face. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) is that all true? QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Firing Boras, yes. IDK if there is a stipulation allowing AL pitchers to hit It never ceases to amaze me how much Kalapse can sucker people into ridiculous(hilarious) conversations. I mean, he even said that Zambrano would eat your face and Cuck the Fubs took it in stride and mentioned that there may or may not be a rule about pitchers batting in the AL. LMAO

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) 1.) They decide who the pick to click was on their own after the game, they don't have a specific system just whoever has the best game out of the 3 is the winner. Hawk usually wins. 2.) Same scoreboard, nothing new about it. 3.) I think it was just a lapse in concentration he though maybe thought that Pablo would get there easy so he was jogging in already. Also, I really like DJ as most people seem to now adays. He's become a fan favorite amoungst Sox fans. I still relaly like Hawk simply becuase he is what he is, a massive homer who appears to be going senile. He doesn't pretend to be something he's not. I think I might pay attention for a month or so and see if Hawk is really winning these competitions or if they are just throwing up random scores. Because I cannot recall a time when he was ever losing, he is always in the lead. Every year.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) Not as good as the X-Men one, but still very solid. i agree. But if you watch it a few times you hear a few things you didnt catch the first time. When they are doing the little flip over the camera those guys were saying some hilarious s***. Blue ranger and the crab were the best of the bunch

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 09:42 AM) That s*** is tough to read. i know, it has no coherent direction and she just rambles about how Tom Brady isnt the man in the pictures. Maybe its just me, but the only difference i see in all of the pictures are his hair(the cut, not color), the face and build is the same.

Roger Clemens is the ultimate Diva in baseball. If he were a female singer, he would have his own Casino show in Vegas. I cannot even imagine having 21 and 22 million dollars thrown at me for less than a year of service.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) Fun at Wrigley I think I read somewhere that the nastiness displayed in that video didnt happen in Wrigley, it happened in some minor league stadium somewhere. How little self-respect must one have to do something like that....

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) I still remember during the 2004 NBA finals he was a BIG Lakers supporter. After the Pistons won 2 games, he said the Lakers "Will win the title" then he added "Did I stutter?!?" when the studio host asked him how. Now he's the biggest Detroit fan. Even better was his assessment of the Miami Heat in the playoffs in Dwyane Wade's first year. He called them out, said they shouldnt have been there, called them a fluke, said they had no chance. After they won the first playoff series, they cut to the post-game show and the whole cast was just staring at him, he looked like he wanted to crawl under the table and hide. His tone was very soft-spoken and complimentary, and Greg Anthony just kept zinging him, it was hilarious. I take particular enjoyment when guys like him get their comeuppance after telling everyone else that they are wrong.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Funny how the Crede banner is used for a full game and the Sox just happen to win. I think the soundclip of Hawk saying "JOOOE CREDE!" should be available for listening on the main page, much like Hawks "Soxtalk, Yes!" call last year. That way I can hear it whenever i want.

QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) Hopefully the offense can score a few runs to support Buehrle tomorrow. Anyone else notice how Jenks looked like he was about to piss his pants in the 9th? hm, I thought he looked really intense last night, not scared.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 04:06 AM) Nobody cares about the Ocho? The ocho is my first and foremost sports-source of the day. -
Well, now the Cardinals have lost the centerpiece of their offense. Lets see if the cliche' "If the Cardinals lost Pujols like the cubs lost lee then they wouldnt be in 1st place" holds up.
