  3. Can't wait for Pruitt to dismiss and settle the lawsuits against the EPA that he brought while OK AG
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) No, wrong. All the guys for philly kept getting hurt. If noel, Embiid and simmons don't get hurt they're already challenging cleveland for the east title. and that's with making a terrible okafor over unicorn pick. the sixers have the right philosophy. just gotta get it right. but that said, i don't trust the bulls to get it right even if they went that route so 7th seeds it is. Dude, Embiid and Noel CAME OUT OF THE DRAFT INJURED. You cant say "if they didnt get injured" when they already were. I cant argue with a bunch of ifs and maybes that you are throwing at me. All i know is any sort of rebuilding decision should come from whoever replaces Gar and Pax, or at the very least Gar.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:39 AM) LeBron, Durant, Leonard. Those are automatic. Then you've got Greek Freak and Paul George, Nobody outside of the biggest Bulls homer would take Butler over greek freak. only Butler/george is an argument. So what are you saying? Keep Butler and be content with 7th seeds? LeBron won't be around forever. Come on man, you are famous here for declaring championships already taken, nobody else has a chance. Now you are all about planning for a future without lebron and lets trade Jimmy and *hope* that the return equals and -maybe- exceeds what Butler is? There is zero guarantee that this draft pans out like people think it will. Teams that go down that road dont always end up coming back up quickly, and in many cases end up like Philly for the last 5 years, multiple top 5 picks. Nothing. And at the same time people who want Jimmy traded are asking the same guys that built this THING that we are watching to turn around and build it back up to a respectable level. Everything about trading Butler is sketchy to me
  6. Even if he is the 6th best, how many of the players above him do you feel have legitimate shots at winning the championship? Does Westbrook make it out of the first round? Hardens rockets havent really done much in the playoffs. Are they all trade bait because people like Lebron and Curry stand in their way?
  7. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 11:07 AM) I don't know. The top headline on Fox News right now is "WHODUNIT? Trump launches bid to find leakers, as speculation surrounds Obama officials" Slightly below that is: "SEAN HANNITY: Trump takes on press, delivers huge knockout" They certainly aren't going in guns blazing, but even a small amount of dissent is surprising
  8. So, Fox News is kind of going after Trump now, starting with Shepherd Smith yesterday and now they are posting polls showing people don't approve of Trump

    Life as a New Parent

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) I've got a 4.5 year old and an 8 month old. It's amazing how much you "forget" about the infant stage after so many years. I would say that the first year is rough, mostly because of the sleep routine. The hardest part is the first few months. You've basically got this thing that does nothing but eat, sleep, poop, pee and cry. You feel very little love back. Your wife will get this the worst, especially if she's breastfeeding and is forced to be the one doing a lot of the over night feedings and general care. But after those few months you start to get smiles. They start to coo at you. They start to say "da da" or smile when you enter a room or reach out for you and your heart melts. From there you'll encounter various firsts (first solid food, first handheld food, first crawl, first walk, etc) and the next thing you know 4 years have passed and they're a real little person with a unique personality. It's cliche, but they grow up FAST, so enjoy it. As a first time parent you'll be overprotective and anxious/stressed about every little thing. By kid 2 you care less about those things because you've seen how strong/resilient those little guys can be. My wife and I were one of the firsts of our group to have kids. I've repeated the same thing to each new subsequent parent: at 6 months start sleep training, i.e., the cry it out method. Every parent we know who just dealt with their kid overnight ended up spending 1-2 years without good sleep. You almost do a disservice by not allowing the baby to learn how to calm him/herself down and get back to bed. You become a major crutch and they will lean on it for a long, long time. I've seen it with some of my nieces/nephews and now some of my friends. We allowed both of our kids to cry it out starting around 6 months and it was maybe 2 nights of doing it and then they slept through the night without a problem. I have a 16 year old, 6 year old, and 3 year old. That ten year gap dumped a ton of infant basics right out of the back of my head.
  10. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 11:43 AM) On Moncada: There are a lot of guys I've seen whose jumps were exponential," White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. "I think he could potentially be one of those guys. We hope so, as with all of the other young players. "It's a matter of how we present whatever we want to present to him. Hopefully we find the right words and context and show him physically. We can do some things to show him. We've talked about that. He's a bright young man. Wonder what he bases that on??? Maybe because he is the manager and has dealt with him multiple times since the trade? just spitballin
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 11:15 AM) Oops! All Nazis! Donald Trump’s Deputy Assistant has angrily denied being anti-Semitic after he was spotted wearing a military medal associated with Hungarian Nazi sympathisers. Whenever Gorka talks I hear Tucker from "There's Something About Mary", carrying on a fake highbrow accent and wearing fancy suits to appear smart
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 07:55 AM) Every day a new joke emerges. What's on the docket for today? Here is the joke of the day Hahahahahaahah hilarious
  13. So, that Netenyahu press conference was straight up weird
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 09:04 AM) Didn't Trump praise the IC a few weeks ago with his little staged speech? Didn't he say no one respects them more than Donald Trump. No one. Didn't he say they all voted for him as well? right right right. "Forget about that nazi thing i said, I love you now and have always loved you, you do good work. My crowds were yuge" I believe that is verbatim
  15. you mean it is bad when you call the CIA a bunch of Nazis, and then show multiple conflicts of interest with a foreign government? Who could possibly have guessed that wouldnt work out well?
  16. Ryan and Pence are like "we are heading to the border to check out this wall stuff. You guys got all this handled? Cya later bye "

  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 14, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) NYT has updated its story about how the FBI had interviewed Flynn in the first few days, to now say those investigators do not believe he was "entirely forthcoming" https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/02/14/us/po...t.co/mHDa9igK6v While this is interesting, I'm not sure what this democracy looks like with this FBI that leaks out all details of ongoing investigations. What?!? Comey told us all that the FBI doesn't not discuss details of ongoing investigations. A month after he did just that
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 14, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) Russian spy ship spotted off NH coast. Your move Mr. President. Must be boating in illegal voters
