QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 08:26 AM) everything ok? It must be his turn on the baby feeding schedule lol

QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 08:04 AM) Out of active posters, who has been banned the most days? probably Shipps

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 08:01 AM) So how exactly is using Gavin Floyd as one counterexample (and Ptac would tear it apart because the original problem was the screws inserted and the bone/muscle tearing apart, not TJ or ligament replacement surgery) supposed to prove anything? Many are arguing that Josh Hamilton for Danks would be a very good deal for the Sox, and, looking at his stats from 2012 on...there's very little to indicate that would be a good risk performance-wise, not to mention the likelihood of another relapse. I know that an argument with you hits no return when you start using other posters supposed arguments as your proof. im done here

This isnt a genius observation or anything, but you can usually tell within a few shots that Dunleavy is going to be worthwhile or worthless on the court. Last night right off the bat you could tell he wasnt going to be on the stat sheet

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 07:31 AM) You do when he's a fifth starter who is overpaid and underproductive. It's very simple....that $26 million will go a long ways in fixing the problem of Danks' early departure. And our fifth starter would/could be Noesi, it doesn't have to be Danks. Heck, it could be Erik Johnson, Beck or Frankie Montas, too. Finally, after all these articles about TJ surgery since last year....you really believe that Homer Bailey's going to be out TWO FULL SEASONS? When has that ever happened in the last 10-15 years? Why would teams take Hoffman, Fedde, Matuella, Kirby and Aiken so high? Caulfield, he hasnt even GOTTEN HIS SURGERY YET.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 07:17 AM) Homer Bailey is about to have TJ surgery too Then cross him off the list QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 07:19 AM) Yes, I know. That's the only way this trade makes SOME sense for both teams. The White Sox don't absolutely need Danks to compete, whereas the Reds definitely need another starting pitcher. no, this makes zero sense. You dont trade your fifth starter for a guy who might play in 2016

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) I would have never guessed that a few years after the trade that Iglesias would be a better hitter than Avi. i would never have guessed that this conclusion could be drawn after both of them missed basically the entire year last year

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 08:37 PM) Loaiza made the all-star team in 2004 after his crazy-good season, but wasn't nearly as good. It kind of reminds me of that. That is a great comp

Kluber had an amazing season last year, but you look at his minor league statistics and it is a huge anomaly. Some guys figure it out of course, but I would say he is probably experiencing a correction

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) That's because I watched 2 pitchers break in 2012 when their innings limits were reached and that was a key part of that team collapsing. GET OUT THE BUBBLE WRAP RICK! SOMEONE GOT HURT ONCE!
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) I continue to fundamentally disagree with this assessment. thats because you are afraid of every pitcher breaking when a inning limit is reached

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 12:53 PM) When Reek was staring at the bodies at the beginning of this episode, were those symbolic of his dad and sister or was it just him remember when he killed the fake Stark boys? i think he also feels a lot of guilt. Chances are he knew those people that Ramsay killed, he spent a lot of time with the Starks

4/27: Sox Vs Os - POSTPONED DUE TO RIOTS
Kyyle23 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in 2015 Season in Review
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) So cryptic. Not cryptic at all. The riots stemming from the police brutality case are affecting the fans, they made people stay in the park for a while the other night -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 10:58 AM) Not yet, but I presume we will get an update on them this season. This was also first we saw of Reek, Bolton and Ramsey this season as well. Like all things GOT, early episodes each season tend to be more about building the next big stories, especially given how much of a bang their tends to be late in each of the seasons. Nope, Brann is confirmed to be absent this entire season

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) Scherzer complained yesterday about getting hurt while hitting also. It won't be enough to change the NL over IMO, but it's interesting to see more talk about it. I think it will happen regardless, and there is merit to some of the complaints, but I just saw Wainwright as an injury that could have happened at any time. When you watch it, it was such a harmless move. He just planted and started to run, and pop I just dont get people pointing out Wainwright hurting himself and saying "SEE?!?! PITCHERS SHOULDNT HIT" like it was proof of the harm that could happen to you while hitting.
-
I think its kind of dumb that Wainwright is using his injury as a reason the pitchers shouldnt hit. It isnt like he broke his hand getting hit by a pitch or anything. What happened to him could have happened fielding a grounder off the mound, he didnt even do anything crazy, he just started running and it tore

Tyler, what the hell was that

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) After reading that post I had to guess he wanted Hinrich in? Was Hinrich available? To me it doesn't really matter, Rose is the best option there with his size. He got beat, plain and simple. It happens. Think about how terrible the Bulls played, how sloppy, turnovers, bad shots, bad defense. And they still almost pulled it out
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) Coming out of the huddle of the last play of the Bulls game, I asked out loud why Derrick Rose was on the floor for a defensive possession at the end of the game. I am still waiting for my answer. Dude didn't even get screened. He just lost Mayo. Embarrassingly bad. It was Bayless, not Mayo. And would you rather Brooks be in the game? The Bucks have been destroying him all series, and Hinrich has been invisible

Kevin Love dislocated his shoulder and immediately ran to the locker room.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) He's hitting .179, he'd fit right in Idk, he's 36 , making 18mil next year, would be tough to give someone up, like Anderson, for a 36 year old I didn't and wouldn't suggest Anderson. And if you think he will end up at .179, that's your prerogative. A 36 year old player shouldn't be getting top prospects in return

Personally I would go for Adrian Beltre. High price tag but that defense offense combo even at his age is pretty hard to come by
