was KC a 4-3 defense when Allen was there? I could have sworn they have been 3-4 forever
-
Allen is gonna be a weird thing next season. He is really a man without a position in this defense

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) It wasn't a separate issue last year. There was a "allen contract v peppers contract' and everyone thought pack were crazy signing peppers at age 34 to that money! Allen is 2 years younger and way better! It wasnt a seperate issue to the fans maybe, but the Bears had to do it. I wasnt and I am still not mad that they did it. I was somewhat skeptical that Peppers could play OLB, but in the back of my mind I knew that Peppers was a freak and he could probably do it(even though I wanted him to fail because he was on the packers)

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:35 AM) So Jared Allen has a fully guaranteed 12.5 mill cap hit for next year. One reason why nobody should listen to my opinions on football is I was super pumped about that. Man were the packers dumb signing peppers! d'oh. Peppers and Allen are two seperate issues though. IIRC if the Bears kept Peppers, his cap hit last season was something ridiculous like 24 million, the Bears had to get out from under that. It sucks that Allen fell off the cliff, but they still saved money by getting rid of Peppers

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:14 AM) Didn't they have bird right's/the ability to offer max on all 3 since they were already on their roster? Wouldnt it be better to retool the rest of the roster with the money you are saving by cutting out the guy that plays 50% of the games?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) He didn't offer Lebron everything? He could have signed a better FA counterpart than Wade? Couldnt sign them all this time. Lebron wasnt interested in playing for a discount again. And If Riley was smart he would have saddled himself with Bosh and Lebron instead of Wade and Bosh. Wade has spent a lot of time injured in the last 5 years. I understand he was the face of the Heat, but it was time to let that guy test out FA for real

Pat Riley should have offered Lebron everything and let Wade walk

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) Murray to the Eagles. Makes the McCoy trade look a lot better now. Both Murray and Alonso are making less combined than McCoy. Josh Norris retweeting old tweets from Eagles fans is fantastic. McCoy 5/40 26.5 guaranteed Alonso on rookie contract, this year will make around 750K, next year 940K, UFA in 2017 Murray 5/42 21 Guaranteed Then lets go ahead and look at Nick Foles 1.3M Sam Bradford 12.3M lets not act like Chip Kelly just saved millions. Because he didnt

Every running back in the NFL that had as many touches as Murray did last year fell off a cliff the following year.

Someone check the webcast to see if Melton is sitting by the microphone yet. We could get 6 unadulterated hours of pure Melton

Jen Lada tweeting that the Bears are closing on a 3 year deal for Foster RT @JenLada: Hearing the #Bears are close on a 3 yr deal w/ Mason Foster. ILB has been a FA target since beginning. #NFLFreeAgency

As long as i see a team ascending throughout the season I will be satisfied. I in no way expect them to beat GB, if that is the definition of "competing" next year. If everything breaks the right way, i could see them squeaking into a wild card spot because the NFL is funny like that, but I dont expect it.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) I really don't know what your problem is but leave me alone. You don't comprehend what I wrote, then have some need to call me out, and not the first time. Is this for real coming from you? For really real you of all people would say this?

Lovie again dipping into the Ex Bears well, bringing in Henry Melton. Lets all pretend he hasnt finished the last two seasons on the IR

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 10:01 AM) BS. And for the record, I wasn't the one who brought up Paulino. But everyone in the White Sox camp is great. So we have that going for us. Beckham's in a better place, so why don't you go after the people constantly slamming him? http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/-1/a...e/p2p-82658274/ whatever would I do without you letting me know who needs to be slammed for positivity and negativity! grain of salt taken

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 09:28 AM) Is there some really pressing issue going on that should prevent us during spring training to focus on our lottery ticket players getting a puff piece? I enjoyed article. I can say without a doubt this guy is going to win at least 12 cy youngs and probably run a successful line of work out videos. hey, Dick Allen says stop being positive because Felipe Paulino and Will Ferrell. If this isnt definitive proof that nobody can succeed, i dont know what is.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 11:20 PM) Wonder if the Bears take a look at Wilfork. Rolle talked about the 2 of them as a package deal. Yes, he's old, but so is Rolle. Vince Willfork 300+lbs old is different than Antrelle Rolle 200 lbs old, and plays a lot different. An injury can take down anyone at any time of course, but I would hope that Wilfork is plan C

QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) I remember the manager, Robin Ventura, go 0 for 32 in his first major league at bats. No one gave up on him and went on to a great major league career. I watched Gordon in his spring training debut. He was hitting everything. I couldn't imagine him not making the team. Ozzie said Um, 0 for 32 is not the same as Gordons career since he was drafted
