  1. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Nice win.....and finally a pitchers' duel that lived up to the hype. No kidding, that was a really fun game to watch
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 18, 2015 -> 11:21 AM) NOPE Participants for the IC Title Elimination Chamber match are expected to be announced tonight on Raw. At this time, Sheamus is scheduled to win the title at the May 31st Elimination Chamber event. Some local advertising has started to pop up for shows following the Elimination Chamber event, advertising Sheamus as the IC Champion Credit: PWInsider.com via wrestlezone.com I am beginning to think Lana will be elevated and Rusev will go the way of Koslov the Vince treatment, build up as unstoppable foreign machine, beat with American, cast aside
  3. QUOTE (MEANS @ May 18, 2015 -> 07:59 AM) Been pretty busy over the past couple weeks, but my wife and I welcomed our first child on 5-5-15. Hayden Michael Sterlachini. He came in at 7lbs 20" One more Sox fan in the family. congrats! On a somewhat related note, I took my 2 year old to get a haircut on Saturday and he didnt cry, fuss, or yell. I felt like his mind was erased for a half hour and replaced when we walked out. They gave him a sucker, and he just sat on my lap and let the lady cut his hair
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 18, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) If that's the case he should have argued and got him self ejected because that is horse s***. Either way, it's an awful look. Hayes is just carrying the orgs water regardless. he did come out and argue. Im not sure why getting himself ejected makes everything better. Besides, Angel Hernandez always does his own thing, you arent gonna win when he screws up
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) You know...I've done that before, where I see someone I'm friends with but don't want to interrupt what they have going or maybe know that I have something important going and want to focus on that (say a business lunch). Not saying it is the case, but if I'm picking a player to build the franchise around, it is Butler, not Rose. Well, that is because you are Bigtime, and we all know it.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ May 18, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) So just to clarify, that article is saying that Rose is proving that he doesn't get along with other scorers by distributing the ball to the other player TOO much, because he knew they'd fail or something. Kind of what Kobe did in 2010. f*** this, you guys dont need me? Fine, you go ahead and do it. Whatever happened in that game, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to conclude that the team went totally dysfunctional. Whatever the reasons are, they are not acceptable.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 18, 2015 -> 11:44 AM) I forgot where I even mentioned that except to say he came back because of his guys. Its ok to admit you forget things
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 18, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) So Goff calling into the score for years as a fan then getting his shot due to those guys and then leaving and coming back because of their support makes him independent? Uh huh. I forgot that when he moved to Atlanta and hosted multiple NBA shows on Sirius and CBS that he was reading from Bernsteins script. My bad
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 18, 2015 -> 11:19 AM) Didn't Goff produce Bernstein's show for a long time? Goff is his own man, he doesnt parrot Bernstein. If anything, Bernstein listens to and parrots Goff
  10. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:40 AM) How does one get invited to BP?? I really miss those days....wish we could all still get in early enough to see some BP take place before the games. You have to be cool. You sir, are not cool.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) Why do some think what Loria is doing is crazy, yet want the White Sox to swap out managers and coaches every few weeks? Why must you generalize the site in this manner as if the situations and reactions are all equal?
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:20 AM) And you really think he's going to pull a Ted Turner? The fans might actually show up for that one, to see him fall flat on his face and dance on his grave. I dont think he will, no, but I think him constantly blaming and firing managers and GMs really sucks. Deadspin has a few articles about how he overrides tons of personnel moves and a lot of it really messes up the way the teams are built. But, alas, you cannot fire the owner
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) I don't know if he had much of a say in becoming the manager but either way if the team fails, now it is all on him. It doesn't appear he will be continuing GM duties while in uniform. It does put a lot more accountability on the GM. Gar/Pax should take to the bench if they get rid of Thibs. Put your necks on the line. Really though, from everything we have read about this, the guy who should truly have his neck on the line is Loria. His fingerprints are all over this team

QUOTE (MEANS @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:03 AM) Isn't it Oscar Isaac? Same guy that's playing the X wing fighter pilot in SW:TFA Yes, it is Oscar, not Jason QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:55 AM) Mad Max was brilliant. It was just crazy over the top action. It also figures that one of the better action movies of the past 10 years is out grossed by a singing competition movie. you can thank Rowand44 for that
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:15 AM) In one of the worst career decisions in MLB history, he's stepping down as GM for the least desirable managing position in baseball. YOLO
  16. I hope he does. Then I won't have to ask how much rope he gets
  17. Avi! Danks! Robo! Get the Oakland trip out of the way with some wins and you can consider it a good season, lol!
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 16, 2015 -> 10:16 PM) He did it again tonight. 478 feet dead center, and some guy caught it barehanded http://deadspin.com/giancarlo-stantons-moo...-who-1704968035
  19. QUOTE (staxx @ May 16, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) I've never seen the ball explode off the bat like it does with him. I have once. Bo QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 16, 2015 -> 10:19 AM) Rasmus much more comfortable in Houston... http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/rasmus-...d:outbrain:sold Aw, it is so nice that he can underachieve in relative obscurity while playing for the Astros. I'm sure his dad is happy that nobody cares he is hitting .230
  20. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 16, 2015 -> 09:55 AM) I get that, but he had an off day before yesterday's game too. In an important game to win, he should've been able to pitch. That's why the Sox paid him $48 million+. So he could close big games. They didn't pay him 48 million to wear out his arm in the first two months of the deal. It's ok to give a guy rest sometimes, especially when he has been a little more hittable and less sharp recently.

  22. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) You'd somehow have to do 2 seperate deals I guess if that makes any sense. There's no way Orlando gives up a top 5 pick for Thibs, maybe a future 1st, but Hennigan is very big on building through the draft. With Harris as well, it depends on how much you're going to pay him. I don't think he's worth a MAX deal (I'd rather Winslow or Stanley Johnson in the draft unless we get the top pick), but a team like the Knicks or Lakers might offer him the MAX, so Orlando might not match. If Thibs went to Orlando though, I could definitely see them going after Gibson, he's exactly what they need in terms of a 4 to play next to Vucevic. Could probably do a trade deal with someone like Kyle O'Quinn if the Bulls wanted a 4/5 back who is younger and cheaper and a similar sort of player perhaps. Woj talked about this today, there is something in the CBA that prevents the teams from doing a side deal as compensation, the teams cannot have a player deal for like a year or something.
  23. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 15, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Is this doable? No, players cannot be involved in a deal for a coach, only picks
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) That's the question - is Rose a Max contract player next year or not? If he's not then they're a playoff team that can't win a title because they're paying $20 mil a year for a $12 mil a year player. If he takes a step forwards somehow, then this team is a title contender. IMO it really is that simple, they have a solid roster around him that is likely to keep improving unless their next coach is another VDN. If Rose can take another step forwards next year towards a top level player, they're a title contender no matter what moves they make (unless they let Jimmy walk). If Rose is at this level the rest of his career, then they're not a title contender until his contract is over. Oh, and if they don't offer Jimmy a max deal right away, they should actually still be ok because they should be able to just match whatever any other team offers him as an RFA. Since there's a max-level, even if some team tried to front-load/poison-pill a contract there's really not much they can do. i thought the new CBA prohibits this
