QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) Abreu is as good right now, as a rookie, as Konerko ever was and pretty close to what Lee was at their respective peaks. Abreu currently has a 149 wRC+. Konerko only had one season that high or better (158 in 2010) and Derrek Lee only had two such seasons (170 in 2005, 150 in 2009). If you want to look at WAR, Abreu is on pace for about 5.3 fWAR this season. Konerko's career highs were 3.7 in 2005 and 3.6 in 2010. Derrek Lee's career highs were 6.8 in 2005 and 5.3 in 2009 with no other season over 4. That surprises me, I figured he would have approached that in 03 when the Marlins took out the Cubs, he was great

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) I like Young but I think you are kind of on point here. There is a lot of value in the UDFA's though. However if Craft really does sign with the Pacers I will be forced to hate him. Just go to medical school young man. I just dont agree with that in the NBA. UDFA's that succeed in the NBA are a big exception to the rule.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) I think the years of pent up anxiety and disappointment in the Bulls conservative roster management (including a collection of assets that win games, but are never as attractive as other teams assets that lose games) are creating a bizarre love affair for me with Doug McDermott. I don't claim to be a scout. I only watch mizzou college bball and then hate the rest of the sport. But the fact that everyone was terrified the bulls would trade up to get this kid and then we did just that, makes me think that this has to work, right? I mean this is the most aggressive move I've ever seen the Bulls make. We have to hit 100%. We deserve it. And then next year Mcdermott is going to post up Anthony and do some weird ooopsy woopsy layup that goes in and I will go crazy. And then he'll get posterized by Lebron and we'll be talking about the 2018 plan to sign Jabari. Come on now, Lebron would do that to McDermott, Harris, or Hood. It doesnt matter, Lebron is an equal opportunity posterizer. McBuckets was brought in to shoot the ball, thats all. He should be fine in that role, and he should be good under Thibs. He is a coaches kid, he is a hard worker, knows the game, and has a very pretty shot

I am not as interested in the Dinobots as i am with Lockdown. The IGN review said his character is pretty dark http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/24/tra...tinction-review that being said, i will wait until November to see this on Directv

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) At this point I'd rather Bulls get some one they targeted than keep collecting assets they won't use. High basketball IQ, great shooter, give him to Thibs. I don't give a s*** about backup point guards. Check out how many effing pgs were just drafted. It's the easiest position to fill. Hell, check out how many PGs the bulls picked up off the street that got paid after Thibs let them play.

Embiid should be happy that he is going to be on the Oden plan

@Al_Iannazzone: Phil reiterated he's "challenged" Anthony to be a team player and take less money to give the Knicks the ability to sign other players.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) I don't think it is unfair to have an expectation that the movies aren't complete s*** in every way imaginable like the last two Transformers were and this one apparently is. Even the action scenes in those movies aren't entertaining because Michael Bay likes to do the quick cuts every 3 seconds. TF3 actually cut a lot of that out because he filmed it in 3D. T2 was terrible in every way imaginable, 1 and 3 were tolerable, 3 was just way too long.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 03:43 PM) While I do not agree with the making of this movie, how is it treasonous? Are the film makers North Korean? My bad, terrorist was the word, not treasonous http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-06-25/nort...ination/5550524

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 02:35 PM) Critics on Rotten Tomatoes are destroying the new Transformers movie. why is this surprising to you

I like that Kim Jong Un said that the US hired rogue filmmakers to make this treasonous movie. if rogue means stoner, then yes

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) Soon, please. Let's get a real manager so we can stop wasting Sale's years. A real manager this season would have somehow avoided wasting this season? Or last?

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) Hawk has taken it to another level this year. It's really bad. It's time for him to go. I totally agree, i am ready for him to go, but it doesnt make the bully job any less shameful. Boers shouldnt be complaining about an old man with nonsense pouring out of his mouth, to anyone, ever.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 12:47 PM) Of course not. I don't even think it's 2015 unless everything goes right. I'm just tired of the Sox having excuses, because they always have them. What year starts the clock on "no excuses, it's time to win"? What year does Robin take an 85-win talent team, and make them an 88-win team because he's a good manager? i think we would really need to see an 85 win talent team on the field before we can start the clock. Hopefully that comes in 2015. I dont excuse Robin for bad decisions. But I think his bad decisions get lumped in with the "it doesnt matter which guy came in, they all sucked" into one big bag that everyone likes to kick around, and I dont think they are the same thing. I mean, greg775 still doesnt excuse Robin for running out of pitchers. Anyone that watched that game would know that Robin threw in every pitcher because literally NONE of them could get an out, and all of them put runners on base. I cant fault Robin for that.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 12:35 PM) So let me ask you this-- what year starts the "no excuses, it's time to win a division or a wildcard spot"? And I'm not saying Sale and Abreu get injured and we still expect to win. I'm saying the Sox could lose Jones and Lindstrom in the same year, and the Sox would have reserves. What's the time frame for no excuses? I would ask in reply, on April 1st, did you feel that year was 2014?

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) Yeah Gardenhire, just like Robin, isn't going to make a bad team into a contender. However, Gardenhire, unlike Robin, is a high-quality MLB manager who is perfectly capable of leading a talented team. Robins evaluation time will come when the FO decides that this team is ready to compete for real, and not "if it happens this season, that is just gravy". At that point, Robin will need to have worked out all the bad decisions and start making better decisions. Robin could end up being Jeff Torborg, the guy who is with the team in the rebuilding phase, and sent away when it is time. Gardenhire would be getting blasted on this board for bad decisions just as much as Robin does if he were managing the Sox right now

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) When the guy gets through the 8th on like 7 pitches of which 6 are strikes and the hitters are completely f***ed mentally and are behind the fastball and in front of the change you don't need to go to your closer. I love the shift stuff, that's the best. Pay waaaaaaaay too much attention to what is happening on the IF but let your s*** corner OFs play shallow. I'd like to put Robin on a double decker plane, Robin and a bunch of Alexei-looking stick people in the upper portion in first class and a bunch of Biiiig BERTHA!! plumpers in the lower deck. Then let's do the same thing, shift all the plumpers in the lower deck to one side of the plane and let the Alexei stick people stay exactly where they are. When the plane tips over maybe he'll understand how stupid it is to focus all his energy on half the defensive setup and none on the other, but then again, maybe that little raisin of a brain in his skull, upon flipping over, will clink against the top of his skull and give him a new idea for once. God this guy is bad. FIRE HIM NOW!!! Trade for Gardenhire also, even though I know it can't/won't happen. I luuuuuuv Ron Gardenhire. Come on man, look at Gardenhires win totals the last couple years, he won 66, 66, and 63 games. When you have garbage pitching, you get garbage results.

Does anyone think that B&B has changed from criticizing Hawk to straight up on air bullying? I know Hawk has really lost a lot of zip on his fastball, and has a lot of faults, but the guy really cant say anything without those two turning it into a all day rip fest

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) It would be cool that instead of going through the routine 'try and grab a hot FA' thingy most clubs do, we should try and emmulate what SA does. They never make 'splashy' moves but somehow the way they run their organization, they're always contending, and to think that the main cog piece in that machine was picked in the 90s... I would love to emulate SA as well, but you cannot do that with one superstar(Rose) who is frequently injured and Noah. That team has a much stronger core with Parker/Duncan/Ginobili and Leonard/Green right underneath them

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) Why talk about something that will never in a million billion trillion quadrillion years happen???If they do want to move on without Robin at some point, it won't be announced as a firing anyway. He'll move to a different position in the organization or there will be some type of pr spinmeister press release covering Robin's pride and demonstrating the never-ending patience and loyalty of JR. Now this is hilarious coming from you
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 10:34 AM) How does this poll apply? The poll is asking your opinion on when Robin should be evaluated/fired. It applies because that is the topic that the OP presented. You are creating alternate scenarios that have nothing to do with the poll

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) If the Bulls go ANOTHER offseason where they targeted big players... and end up empty... heads need to roll. They wont, so there is no use getting out the torches and pitchforks.
