  2. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:49 PM) We had no problems of this nature with Shingo Or Iguchi. Or Fukudome for that 5 minutes he was on the team

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) Why? Just because he drunkingly impregnated his own daughter and made his son screw a hooker while his gay lover watched? Judge much? No, not all that. Its just the outfit
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:44 PM) Does anyone really remember the Blade Runners? I've only heard of them. I saw some youtube highlights of them. Both Warrior and Sting were massive back then, and had super awesome long mullets,, neon facepaint, and did the "you cant knock me down im shaking the ropes" thing
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:43 PM) Great minds think alike at 2:42 today! DONT TELL ANYONE!
  6. You know what else I was thinking is a small possibility if Sting came back? A Blade Runners tagteam reunion. Warrior has been chirping on twitter that he isnt done yet
  7. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) I do remember that now that you mention it. So you proved my point that it took a miraculous comeback and crazy coaching for Manning to get his first ring. Also, a Rex Grossman lead Bears squad in the super bowl. and a hurricane. and Prince.
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:22 PM) My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Tanaka with Rick Hahn at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious. did they share a cone? who bought?
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) KW has to be lying. Bernstein said the Sox were backing off. Well, Joe Cowley is coming on in a few minutes to discuss the bulls, so I bet he is feeding Bernstein valuable white sox information he got from the Guillen family
  10. I read that the last two TNA live events had 800 and 1200 people in attendance. You have to think that all of the ex-WWE guys want to get back to the bigtime
  11. QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 01:03 PM) Cubs have the payroll to do it..... They also probably want to get it done for Cubs Convention... OR at least please the fans after the Clark the Cub debacle. OT: Clark the Cub was just poorly introduced in my opinion. I think a mascot is fine for the Cubs, but they should have introduced him in person at Cubs Convention. Not according to Paul Sullivan on M&H yesterday. He said the team is leveraged to the gills, and really doesnt have a lot of wiggle room. He also mentioned that the team is asking front office people and scouts to carpool in order to save money, as well as other weird cost cutting measures.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) Was it MIT? I thought it was just a made up college. I'm surprised they didn't have him go to UC or NW. Still though, this is a guy who was paid to take the ACT/SAT and scored nearly perfectly. They made it clear he was some kind of genius. I just thought they could have used a better story if they're going to use the bad grade as a way to get Lip to try harder at school. And I agree that's the most interesting storyline in the show. Lip has always been my favorite character. The writers/directors fascination with Debbie kind of creeps me out. She can't pass for a high schooler and I think it's absurd that they want the audience to believe that the high schooler actually buys it. The end of the first show made it seem like he gave up already. One of two things is going to happen, he is going to go home and say he is done with it, or someone is going to catch his attention at school. The creepiest part of the show I thought was the scene at Mickeys house where he was counting the cash. The guy that plays their dad just looks like a total scumbag.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 12:47 PM) I thought Ron Leflore and Tim Raines would be great leadoff hitters. Tim Raines was good, he was past his prime, but he was good. I thought David Wells was going to have a good year also
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 12:41 PM) I'm going: Seahawks 31, 49ers 16 Broncos 27, Patriots 24 I will be impressed if the Seahawks snuff out the 49ers like that, i see it much closer Seahawks 24 - 49ers 20 (great sadness in the old rebuilt car community) Patriots 35 - Broncos 27 im 4 - 4 so far this postseason, so one of these is right and one is wrong, lol
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) Looks like the Sox have 14 players signed at 73.425. So probably low 80's by opening day. Unless... ...the sox sign ERVIN SANTANA 4/100!!!!!! QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 12:37 PM) The B-R counter would put them at $86 not counting Abreu's signing bonus. pfffft, the Sabermetric thread says that F counter is better than B-R counter
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 09:55 AM) What would Sting do at Mania? I wouldn't waste a Taker match on him now. Why not? If Sting shows up in the next few weeks, they could work a 2 month buildup to mania.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) I'm saying it's both. It doesn't have to be black and white. Kansas I imagine will struggle mightily if they higher the wrong guy compared to other top schools. i think at this point, the Kansas train is running full speed downhill. A bad hire for them would be very unlikely, if that job becomes available then only the elite top head coaches would be considered for the job. They arent going from Roy Williams -> Bill Self -> MAC coach that got hot in the tournament.
  18. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) I don't see how that's "the same thing." He openly talked about trying to acquire a player. You just said that he never talks to the press about trying to acquire a player, so it must be a smoke screen
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 10:22 AM) And 9/11 was an inside job. The only person i've ever heard equate Jordan's gambling with some kind of Stern reprimand is Bill Simmons. And we all know what kind of access/inside information he has - not much unless it's about the Celtics or post-2005. It would make no sense for Stern to do ANYTHING to Jordan in the 90's. He was growing the brand of the NBA more than anyone could have dreamed. I think it's entirely reasonable for MJ to walk away after dominating the sport for three years AND having a major life altering event like the murder of his father. The thing with baseball was strange, but MJ's a strange, competitive dude. I think it's reasonable to assume that his ego just got in the way and he thought of the whole thing as another challenge he could master. And his retirement in 98 is even more understandable - issues with Krause, he had to follow up on his threats not to return if Phil didn't, three straights championships with the last one being the most grueling, his brand/businesses were booming, he had nothing else to "win" in basketball, etc. I didnt say anytthing about 98, I know what that was about. believe what you want, im not trying to change your mind
  20. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) Maybe that was the problem. They didn't do their research and had no clue that Tanaka is an X-Box guy and hates Nintendo. HERE IS A 3DS! COME ON! XBOX IS WATCHING YOU

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 09:58 AM) College is a lot different than HS. Can't coast anymore. Think him at college could be the best storyline if done right. Not only college, but MIT. I agree, this could really be a great storyline for him. Im worried they are gonna rush it and kick him out of college because his roomates girlfriend hates him and rats on him
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 09:59 AM) The Mariners seem to be very dysfunctional, however. Between their jackass GM and their outgoing President, it would surprise me if they were the ones unprepared. lol, they just came in and said "Nintendo owns us. Sign here"
  23. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 17, 2014 -> 09:31 AM) KW never talks like this about a guy he is going to sign or acquire. It just doesn't happen. I think it possible that there's a trade possibility we haven't heard about and he is using Tanaka as a smoke screen. There's just no benefit to talking about it like he has and it isn't his MO. Sure he does, he did the same thing with Peavy. Swung and missed on the first attempt to trade for him, and told the press "we will revisit this later", and then got him a few months later
  24. Winslow was supposed to be the next big thing, he just never got there
