Hope this day off was good for everyone cause they wont get one until spetember 5 and even then there is speculation that they might play the Boston game on that day cause baseball wont let them do it at the end of the season. -

QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) On the Sports Management thing, I heard Ohio University had a decent one, dunno if that's true or not. A lot of the big schools have those programs though. Also, just passing along some advice I heard in regards to sports management: Major in business instead, and minor in something that will angle you toward where you want to go. This way, you'll have a few more options with that degree. Not saying you should do that, just saying it's what I heard. Yep. Loyola does.

Hidalgo is terrible. Dye has bounced back since the first 1 1/2 months of the season. He puts up solid power numbers and has risen his BA by like .75 -

John LeClair signs with Pens
Ozzie Montana replied to AirScott's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The Pens will be alright if Thibault stays healthy. That seems to be the problem with him. Im not sure if they'll win the Stanely Cup but they should make the playoffs with what they got. -
John LeClair signs with Pens

I think the Penguins, Blackhawks, and Mighty Ducks have done the best for their team in the offseason. The Panthers will also be a much improved team especially if they sign Oli Jokinen. -

I am a very worried Devils fan but I am starting to jump on the Penguins bandwagon and I hope to see Crosby and Mario. This is very good for the state of hockey especially in Pitty. -

Burnett is a good power pitcher who can shut down an offense and K's allot which is good if he were to pitch in the Cell. -

^^^^^^ What he said. Too early to talk about these things anyways. Maybe if I was the Royals I would but not me cause im with the Sox and im thinking World Series. We can worry about this after the postseason. -

Twins claim Soriano off waivers
Ozzie Montana replied to Frank the Tank 35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) I think the Twins are the team to beat for the Wild Card. Cant discount anyone but I think it will either be Cleveland or NY. Twins would be next and then the A's. Case being the A's were on a nice stretch and now they have come back down to earth. If I were in the wild card I'd definately fear Cleveland though. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Um, no. Lohse is a #5 and Silva is their #3 BTW. Twins - A's - Indians - Yankees Santana - Zito - Westbrook- Johnson Radke - Harden - Sabathia - Mussina Silva - Haren - Lee - Leiter Mays - Saarloos - Millwood - Wright Lohse - Blanton - Elarton - Chacon Oakland's starting rotation > Minnesota's starting rotation Cleveland's starting rotation > or = Minnesota's starting rotation A's, Indians, Twins starting rotation's >>>>>>>>>>> Yankees starting rotation right on Kalapse. and I would definately take the A's 1-2-3 and put them up against any of those teams. -

We are gone geese. I hope in the offseason they fix these problems. Find a new hitting coach and I hope by season's end the Joe Crede experiment is over. Keep Pods, Rowand, Iguchi, and Pierznski. I still have to see how Konerko is the rest of the way to decide on him. Dye is boarderline but I guess acceptable. So I think they must upgrade at 3rd, SS, and find a new DH. Everett is OK but we need something more that can be a powerful force at DH like a Griffey caliber player. Dont know who would be available but something like this.
