2012 NFL Draft Thread
Here's a writeup of the Bears' UFA signings. OT Brown from Troy intrigues me as PFW's Draft Magazine had him the fourth best OLT in the draft. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8783

2012 NFL Draft Thread
While updating my AAP on Nevin Griffith, here's a UFA that the Bears just signed: http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/04...ee_agent_d.html Adrien Cole, LB - Lou Tech/WAC Conference

AAP: Nevin Griffith
It's arguably his best start-of-the-year stats. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...&pid=518746 His BB/K ratio is still alarming.
-
AAP: Kevan Smith
http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...&pid=607345 Power wise he's struggling, no HRs yet, but he's still hitting for a high BA.
-
AAP: Jeff Soptic
I'm assuming that Soptic is in extended spring training, as I cannot find anything about him.

AAP - Erik Johnson

Closing Time
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) I've liked pretty much everything Ventura has done, but in the admittedly small sample size I've seen of Santiago, he just doesn't have the makeup of a closer. That fastball is pretty straight and that screwball is very, very hittable. This situation is comparable to putting Boone Logan in the closer's role out of Spring Training in 2007. The kid has talent, but it's not as a closer and it's definitely not right now. I like his makeup and the fact that he's not afraid to go right at hitters, but if you are coming with a straight 94 over the middle, they're gonna hit it. +1 To put Santiago in this situation is having mixed results at best. Yes Hector has four saves, but an ERA over 8 now. He's never closed in his life. Hector should be in AAA building up his arm for starters' innings. Addison Reed's future is to close games. It may not be the right time yet to give him the nod, but it just inched closer.

Somehow I don't see Dylan being successful in a sandbox like Chicago. I bet he gets traded to a pitcher's ballpark, ala San Diego (yes I know he started there).

4/23 Games
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) Whenever I see Bayne's name here in the minors section, it reminds me of that guy who won the Daytona 500 (Trevor) or Spider-Man. Or that guy from Batman, you know, the back breaker.
