  1. Dayan already 3 for 3 in this game, BA up to .293
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) I regret never seeing a game there. I lived on 26th and Wallace for a few years before moving South. I regret not seeing enough games there. But yeah, it was a great, great place to see a ballgame or two.
  3. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ May 28, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) Not sure about another high school pitcher after the Jason Stumm and Kris Honel experiments. I've read from Jon Sickel's blog that the bigger upside is from the HS Pitcher route this year. Plus, the last one was Honel back in 2001. This might be the right draft to get a HS pitcher with your first (or Sandwich) pick.
  4. Has anyone been following these blogs/rumors on Dave Bolland on the trading block? Thoughts??

  15. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 24, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) 2010 and 2011 were expected to be rocky, but this season they were supposed to take a step forward. Every starter is either a Junior or Senior, and it just hasn't come together like they thought it could have (losing their Friday night starter Eric Anderson before conference season didn't help either). Longtime coach Tim Jamieson is on the hottest of hotseats as the Tigers are going to transition to the tough SEC...and things don't look any better next season. Losing the majority of their starters. If Junior pitcher Rob Zastryzny comes back for a senior season that would really help. That being said, 2001-2009 was quite fun. Never made it to Omaha, but watching guys like Ian Kinsler, Max Scherzer, Aaron Crow, Kyle Gibson and even Nick Tepesch (pitched a no hitter for Rangers affiliate last week) was a pleasure. Watching most of them wind up in the AL Central...not so fun (Gibson-Twins organization, Crow-Royals, Scherzer-Detroit)... Also, Jeff Soptic was recruited for Mizzou but signed with the Pale Hose instead. That would have been some arm for them. http://simmonsfield.blogspot.com/2011/06/2...soptic-rhp.html (from my AAP )
  16. Adam Dunn's numbers for the month of May: .266 BA/.415 OBP/.672 SLG/1.087 OPS According to Baseball Reference Dot Com, they have a stat for GAME OUTCOME FOR TEAM. What a split. When the White Sox win: .323/.506/.813/1.321 When the White Sox lose: .182/.273/.390/.662 Wow. Here's something else. Adam Dunn when.... he's a first baseman (I know this is a small sample size, but STILL): 15 games played, .300/.478/.680/1.158 he's a DH: 25 games played, .225/.346/.551/.896 http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...p;year=&t=b
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) "Well my name is De Aza and I'm here to say, I like to rap baseballs everyday. I'm the best MLB rapper from the Chi, When you see my rapped hits, you'll know why. Kick it!" LOL. KICK IT. RIP MCA.

TRIPLE DITTO. Although the Net is filled with spoilers now. I wish I hadn't linked that International Trailer.
  21. Is there a reason why Jon Gilmore is still in Birmingham, and Brady Shoemaker isn't? Or Dan Black?
  22. In his last 10 games, Jared Mitchell has struck out 16 times in 36 plate appearances. Out of those 10 games, he has struck out twice eight times. There has to be something mechanical going on with his swing, or the scouts have exploited something that Jared is struggling to overcome.
  23. *sigh* That pic on ChicagoSports.Com did me no favors. But I just wonder why not put Santiago as a starter instead of Axelrod.
