  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) By getting on base and mashing the ball, he greatly improves our offense much more than a guy who has little plate patience and one good year under his belt. But he doesn't go to Lincoln Park bars with Crede and AJ. We should just release him.
  2. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) I don't understand why so many people seem to despise a player giving 100% and playing hard all the time and contributing to the team with his attitude and leadership. I guess all that matters is the stat sheet. He's not despised. Just highly overrated.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 02:50 PM) 9 wins? Thome didn't pitch for the White Sox. That was the problem with them last year - not the hitting. You must have stopped watching games after the all star break last year because the hitting was was very mediocre in the 2nd half.
  4. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 09:08 AM) i love that show. Likewise. Just wrapping up season 3. Two more left to watch. What a brilliant show.
  5. Lets keep making Dusty Baker look smart. Keep winning.
  6. I'm glad I haven't been around to watch this debacle. Hopefully things turn around quickly.
  7. QUOTE(Straycats @ May 25, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) no Konerko tonight due to a death in his family Dang....what is going on with the player's families this year? This is crazy. Prayers go out to the Konerko family.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 25, 2007 -> 10:19 AM) Im sure she has done some messed up s*** to him as well. How are you so sure of this?
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) I'm more confused as to why the fat f*** from the NFL Network is now stealing Elijah Dukes' psychopathic ideas. Can't Jamie think of an original way to threaten his wife? Heh. I was going to say.
  10. Happy birthday fellow herbivore!
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2007 -> 06:07 AM) He hasn't had a voting record to get beatdown with since he left the Senate. McCain doesn't have much of a voting record either lately and he's still in the Senate.
  12. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 24, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) I might be able to make it. Who is that in your avy?
  13. Anyone catch Jason Stark's "top 10 overrated players" column? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...&id=2880887
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Granderson's on pace to have quite the extra base hit line this year. 35-15-25 isn't out of the question. Yeah but can he grind like our leadoff hitter?
  15. QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) Anyone think Magglio is finally 100% healthy again? .357 BA -- 12 HR's -- 45 RBI Cuz I do. Rumor has it he soaks his mane in an androstenedione solution before each game.
  16. Nice to see the Angels playing dead today. Sure would be nice to have Maggs on our team this year.
  17. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) I don't think it was as cut and dry as this. (a) it's a big country. we found bunkers we didn't know saddam had after we invaded. just because a group of 20 inspectors goes in and looks around doesn't mean they checked every possible place (B) they were never given enough time to complete the job. if i recall correctly saddam waited a long time before he let them in, and when he did he didn't cooperate fully. also the inspectors DID find weapons that were banned after the Gulf War the he said he got rid of but obviously didn't. The left can try to spin this all they want, but the fact was the majority of the world thought he had them. The best intelligence available said he had them. If you want to debate that the Bush admn tried to sell the war on shaky intelligence (my favorite was the mobile missile systems on semi-trucks), ok fine. But the evidence did exist and it was believed by the majority of the international intelligence community at the time. It wasn't fabricated like so many people think. I still fail to see a reason for invading the country. Iraq was not an imminent threat. Iran and North Korea are more of a threat.
  18. The inspectors were let in before we invaded and found nothing. There was no reason to invade.
  19. QUOTE(mreye @ May 24, 2007 -> 07:12 AM) Form, form, form. The correct posture and form is more important than the weight itself. Get this right first before adding weight. ^^^^^^^^^^ Also, have some high energy music playing on your Ipod/mp3 player. Sometimes weightlifting can get boring and monotonous and some kickass music can inspire you.
  20. QUOTE(Wedge @ May 23, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) What about the Chinese dude? Jackie Chan is not going pro.
  21. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ May 23, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) Ravech is great, but he looks annoyed most of the time. I don't know if Gammons is full strength yet after his stroke, but, Ravech, Gammons and Kruk would be a great team. Also, I am growing fonder of Orestes Destrade. I think he's going to be excellent given time. Kruk??? Are you kidding? He provides zero insight or analysis. I think he took the gig for the free food in the ESPN cafeteria.
  22. Seems like this administration is just grasping for straws. Anything to try and convince the public that they were justified in invading Iraq. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/05/23/bush.iraq/index.html
