I don't know what they're talking about. It was cold outside this morning.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) Ooh, perhaps we can meet up That's creepy. But seriously I'd meet up at the venue for a beer before the show starts. 11/12 show right?

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) I checked one out last night and the Sprint store had the extended battery on it. He was saying if you're getting 4G it really hammers the battery. Anyway...it seemed uncomfortably large with that battery. Anyone here use that? No. That thing is ridiculous.

Yankees asked for permission to talk to Coop
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) And yet all four of them had other franchises looking at them very seriously to lead their franchises to one degree or another. And yet whenever Norv Turner gets fired he gets all sorts of teams interested in his terrible coaching abilities.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) Boardwalk Empire and Dexter have both jumped in front of SOA for me this season. But like someone said, it's on a Tuesday so there's not much else to watch. Gonna see him this month. I've got tickets as well.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) I think this comment is vindicated, given the Bachmann ranting and it appearing on Hannity and Beck. Without a doubt.

Too lazy to see if this was already posted but Maher's interview with President Carter was quite good. Interview with former President Jimmy Carter

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) If that is the case just stay the hell out of the thread cause the comments you add bring absolutely zero value to this discussion. Sort of like this comment that seems to come from no source: QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) 3000 people, a history of overspending, the thought of a billiion bucks being spend on this trip. That is all concrete evidence and a very discussion worthy points that you all insist should be swept under the rug.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) You guys are the unclassy ones who don't do anything but through out trivial comments. You don't even want to debate or discuss the issue and its pretty darn pathetic. I don't see why there is even a debate about this. Someone with little to no credibility threw a number out there and we're supposed to all believe it?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) f*** off. I don't have to prove anything. You haven't done a damn bit of research on this subject and are taking the easy road. Stay classy.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) 1 billion could go a longway in this country. That's closing the budget gap in a LOT of cities scrapping for every last dollar. So now the federal government is supposed to bailout local governments with handouts? That doesn't seem like something that would go over well on your side of the aisle.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) It sure seems self-evident to me that you're going to need a much larger security contingent in Mumbai than in the UK. No way. A GOP President would likely take a Southwest Airline flight over there with one bodyguard.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) Pretty much the microcosm of the liberal logic stream - (1) deem X an uncontrovertible fact, (2) insult any person that either doesn't believe in and/or simply questions X, (3) blame Bush, (4) comment on Rush/Fox News and the dumbing down of America, (5) make outlandish statement about conservative thought/agenda (5) forget what initial issue was, move on to opinion Y, (6) repeat. I have yet to see anyone prove the first thing in your list as an actual fact.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) At one point did I ever say it was fact? I said it begs questions to be answered and given that it is being bantied about by significant news outlets (and not that doesn't make it a fact) makes it something that the current administration should consider talking about. These news outlets are all repeating the same thing from the same source. Where are the facts to back up this claim?

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) Whoah, I'm not confirming it as fact. I flat out think it is ridiculous to even come close to spending 200 million. But you know what, when this came out, I damn well want to hear a comment from our white house confirming, denying, talking about it. So now the White House to address every single accusation thrown at it? That could be a 24/7 job on its own.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) What did that 75 million per trip cover? Did that cover security and everything or was that just the airfare portion? I believe peanuts were an additional cost per flight.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) One big problem. This isn't the first time people have complained about the Obama administration having excel travel costs. Michelle Obama happened to have a huge trip to Spain where she brought out 40 of her best friends and did everything in 10 star style. A lot of people have speculated how much the government picked up the tab because there are lots of loopholes to that matter. For pete sake people were calling her a modern day Marie Antoinette. And no, that isn't a compliment. When people in this country are struggling to find jobs, etc, I find it ignorant to go flashing around you money and wealth when you are living in a home provided by us taxpayers (the white house). But instead I see people flinging mud at Mike and I and comparing us to Carl Everett (who doesn't believe in dinosaurs). You having nothing to back up your accusations other than hearsay.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) Not really seeing it. There is actually articles talking about this being the case and no article saying that it isn't the case. No there haven't been. One random nobody claimed this "fact" and all the right wing pubs are parroting it as some sort of confirmed fact.
