QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) Seriously. I just want to know who has time to come up with that kind of nonsense? They can't bother to spend an extra few minutes to fact-check themselves. But to Kap's point, who cares? What a trivial thing to get worked up about in the grand scheme of things.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) "FRIEND" This guy was my best man. He of all people should refrain from sending something like that to an ultra-progressive friend.
-
Now my friend replies all angry asking why I had to reply to everyone within the embedded email. Guess they wanted to live in their fantasy world. WTF

I love snopes. A friend just forwarded an email with some phony outrage regarding Michelel Obama's unprecedented number of assistants. It pointed out how other first ladies like Laura Bush only had one assistant and how much all of this is costing the taxpayer. "And this is change we can believe in??" A quick snopes check shows that Michelle does have the number of assistants as the email stated but it's exactly in line with other first ladies. I went ahead and replied to every single person in the email chain with the snopes results.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 4, 2009 -> 08:14 AM) Lame Maine, very lame. What she said.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 02:46 AM) I really have a difficult time with those who think a 17 year old is not wise enough to make the decision as to whether or not they can raise a child, but is somehow capable, on the other hand, of raising said child. Precisely

Like it better than Mountain Dew? Mountain Dew is even worse.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) Same reason minor's can't do many of the things they can not do without parental consent. That didn't answer my question at all.
-
I'd like to hear people's perceived benefit for requiring the parental consent. Is it to avoid the abortion in the first place? To have a chance to scold their kid?
-
Would be interesting to hear some female commentary on the subject. After all, it's their bodies we're talking about.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) Exactly. The main reason I have an issue with it is because a 17 year old (or younger) would be pressed to make a decision such as this based on fear moreso than based on an educated choice. Such as fear their parents "will kill them if they found out they were pregnant", etc, when in reality they're parents may be upset/disappointed, but they surely wouldn't "kill them". As a parent I don't mind not getting notified.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) As long as the age of consent allows you to have consensual sex because you've reached a minimum age, you should be able to make choices on your own about medical treatments that result from sexual contact. What he said.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) Come on. When he swings the club and the black feathers went flying, you didn't at least chuckle? No I'm struggling to remember a moment where I actually did chuckle. I did agree on his viewpoint of introducing people although it didn't necessarily make me laugh.

Another mediocre Curb last night.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) Whether this is true or not, that's a borderline personal attack. This thread is mirroring the MSM's attempt at being fair and balanced by giving face time to birthers, etc. This guy has been going on and on about how no polls should ever be trusted and all people are inherent liars. Yet he's treated as if he has a valid and rational argument just because he writes eloquently. GMAFB I'm surprised Ron Paul dropped out. He probably was winning the GOP ticket with a 94% majority since the polls were false.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 09:55 AM) Cmon. Not necessary. Dude's been a poster boy for the tinfoil hat association with his opinions expressed in here.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 08:42 AM) Hey BigSqwert - you asked about Great American Hypocrites, assuming you're a fan of Greenwald's blogs, you'll like it. Sure it's biased and he writes in this harsh tone towards Republicans but that's the point of the book and I don't mind that, because on his blog he spends a lot of time ripping Democrats too for the same reasons so he's intellectually honest. I'm only in chapter 1 though, I didn't know John Wayne was a draft-dodger, who had no problem calling other people who didn't support war cowards later in life. He sets up the rest of his book this way. Nice. Huge fan of Greenwald so I'm sure I'll enjoy reading this. I'll try grabbing it before I fly back home tomorrow.

Now you guys are probably going to tell me they can go on 2 days rest. Sheesh.

Just throwing him out there could have been a disaster. He loses the game the series is over.

GM calls from your couch are easy.

f*** you John Fox for giving J Stewart all of the red zone carries today. I really needed those TDs and will probably lose after tomorrow night. EDIT: Wind up losing by 4 pts last night in my big $ league so f*** you once again John Fox, f*** you Childress for running on 4th down at the end of the game instead of an easy FG, f*** you Dallas Clark for not getting 1 more yard to get the 3 pt bonus for 100 yds, and f*** you McNabb for not running up the score in the 2nd half. GAH I HATE THIS HOBBY! ANd once again, like every season it seems like, my team has given up the most points allowed for the season. Every week I play the guy who has his best game of the season.

CC doing well on 3 days rest doesn't mean Cliff would as well.
