The point I was trying to make was that every President, even Bush, did the same types of things with regards to honoring the injured and deceased. Perhaps this specific location, Dover, wasn't visited by Bush but in the grand scheme of things they're all the same regarding this "issue".

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 1, 2009 -> 08:02 AM) What was unclear? Obama did it his way. This was one way he chose to honor these slain soldiers. Bush also did it his own way. They both did it the same exact way. The same way every leader across the globe does it....the same way every President in the past did it. Although in the Bush era media was forbidden.

This is a great watch. O'Donnell pretty much tells the Cheneys to go f*** themselves. Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Am I the only one that remembers there was a ban on photos/video of soldiers caskets during the Bush administration? NSS, Obama doing it his way? What does that even mean?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 09:11 AM) Yes, you did. You forgot about all the polls that lie on the other side of the street as well. You see, unlike you, I don't trust *most* polls of any sort, whether they be released by republicans OR democrats. From the sound of the sarcastic post you made above, it seems that you feel people don't trust polls only if it's a populist democratic/liberal issue, such as global warming, democrat favored, etc... There are very few I trust from start to finish. I have this problem with people who read something and just believe it, such as when polls post methodology -- so ok, if you did exactly as you said you did, then that poll can be trusted...but the question is, DID YOU ACTUALLY DO IT THAT WAY?! I don't trust people...because people lie...a lot, they even lie about telling the truth on how they did something so long as it makes the point they wanted it to make. I don't care about either party, and I hope someday both are uprooted and tossed by the citizens of this country because of their complete uselessness. While they make it appear they all hate each other, the reality is, they're all making each other rich. Now we can move on since I cleared that up. Then you just have other deep seeded issues that have nothing to do with polls.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) it seems... odd. I dunno. Both men are dead, so no one will really know. Scott Bakula says hi. -

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:15 AM) Latest phony idiocy - criticizing Obama for going to Dover and being photographed while saluting the bodies (nevermind that the press is always there). What, is he supposed to do it in secret or some s***? Of all things to make a controversy over, this? For real? Well it is obvious that he hates our troops and America and is doing it just to look good.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:05 AM) I think Halloween is a dumb Holiday. There, I said it. Parties are feasible but the rest can go. Just stunned by that statement. Perhaps you should join me in Vegas this weekend to get a good feel for the holiday.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) great link on Chicago Halloween weather http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lot/?n=chi_halloween Hardly a reliable source since they are biased.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) The assumption here is they are meant to be unbiased, effective polls. The people funding these polls generally have an agenda. There are not too many organizations willing to fund a poll that is just wondering, in an unbiased way, about something. How often are these small time polls reported in our message boards? Rarely if ever.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Swisher benched for Hairston is being reported. How awesome would it be if Dewayne Wise played in Swisher's spot, wearing a Hairston Jr jersey.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) That is a classic debate. Do we elect someone so they can follow their conscious and vote what they believe is right, or do we elect someone to do what is popular? IMNSHO we elect someone to represent us. You elect the person based on their positions that they express during the campaign. I rarely hear a candidate claim that their position doesn't matter, that they will just poll the voters and do what they want. And again, they will benefit, but if it is what they believe is right, that would be a natural outgrowth. In these specific examples there seems to be a major conflict of interest. They shouldn't be able to vote on a bill that will help their personal pocketbooks by opposing the proposed reform.
