  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 12:32 PM) You should be happy then, considering that is probably what is going to happen. Removing Dye from the OF and ensuring Pods is no longer in CF would indeed make me happy. Pods is still a pretty decent leadoff hitter.
  2. I really wouldn't mind seeing Pods get a 1 year deal next year to leadoff and play in LF, shifting Q to RF. The OF would finally be pretty solid.
  3. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 12:07 PM) That's not how you run a successful business. You don't fire somebody because you're pissed off and want to "send a message." In most normal businesses yes. In sports, no. This type of thing is done all the time.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) So firing a hitting coach is sending a message to the multi-millionaire players? Sorry, Walker is a well-liked guy, but firing him isn't going to make anyone hit any better. Whoever said they guaranteed the Sox offense couldn't get worse is pulling crap out of his ass. For the record, as awful as the White Sox offense has been this month and as terrible as Greg Walker supposedly has been, they are still scoring more than 5 runs a game for the month. If there is a problem, I think its with the advanced scouting. These guys sometimes have no clue at the plate especially late against relief pitching. I think they have bad reports on pitchers. BTW who on the White Sox is totally underachieving overall at the plate? Dye perhaps, but he was great earlier, did Walker just get stupid? Quentin? He was hurt, and of course his near MVP cannot be credited in anyway to Walker just his struggles, but its still better than he did in Arizona. Are we watching the same offense? And I can't help but to feel that a couple blowout wins has skewed our numbers for August. Seems like 6 out of 7 games we're struggling to get anything going offensively. EDIT: Just got back from the gym. Was watching ESPN News while doing cardio and the stat they flashed during the Sox/Yanks game recap was that we haven't scored more than 5 runs in 31 of the last 40 games. I knew my instinct was right.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 08:27 AM) The men who stare at goats Im thinking this is going to be a must see for me That one could be fun.
  6. Apparently he's making up his own rules.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) this team has one more run in them. One more? They haven't had a run all year. They're a .500 ball club.
  8. No chance of taking the division if Buehrle continues to wet his pants every 5th day.
  9. Thank God I'm leaving the house. This looks like it's going to get ugly.
  10. Excellent AB for Thome. So glad he's batting 3rd today.
  11. QUOTE (everafan @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) Looks like AJ is the #3 hitter versus righties and TCQ versus lefties. That was Steve's suggested lineup. Not an actual one.
  12. I will once again change my position on this. He should bat 5th or 6th.
  13. Various other threads might have been longer.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 03:07 PM) Thome does nothing but hit homeruns off of CC. The stat is kind of ridiculous, he just annihilates CC or strikes out Oh good then. I just assumed he had awful career numbers against him.
  15. Reifert would be impressed I'm sure.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Pretty much one of him or Pods has to be in the line up. I'm picturing an 0-4 night with 3 Ks from Thome. Might be better suited a bit lower in the lineup.
  17. P.R. department for the Sox should hire us.
  18. Does Thome hit CC pretty well? Surprised he's hitting 3rd against a tough lefty.
  19. Now everyone all together..."Fighting to Win!"
  20. Ladies and gentlemen, Leonard Zelig.
