You probably wouldn't know what to do!?
-
Ideally I'd like some fresh blood at DH and send them both packing.
-
What a sight that would be if you got busy on a 1st date!

QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 01:26 AM) send me weekly pictures of your abs so i can see that you are doing your routine correctly I'll make sure to oil up and wear a thong.

Why do people keep mentioning PK being gone? He's under contract.
-
According to that "kid", you shouldn't even complain about those things on a message board because the players come here and read all the negativity. That's why they're playing poorly. So please greg, stop complaining about the team in here so that we can start winning again.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:57 PM) Sqwert why don't you try to educate the fan who posted that. It's pretty obvious to me he's a younger fan into the part of the game where fans can affect the outcome. Might be helpful discussion rather than simply being smart about it. If that fan isn't under 18 I'd be shocked. He has a right to his opinion. What the heck do the fans have to do with it? The park is typically close to full and the fans cheer when they play well. How is that any different than any other team and in any other sport? GMAFB

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) I really think the fault of the team playing "tight" is not on the manager....but rather the press and the fan base. When the city and the fan base is constantly saying "you suck" over and over, it puts a lot of pressure on the team and they tend to underperform. The greatest example of this is the St Louis Cardinals. Over the years, they've gone through a lot of personnel in the clubhouse. They've been managed by Tony LaRussa for many years (who is far being laid back and loose). However, their fan base has always supported them, always been behind them, and (for the most part) not been critical. This results in players being loose and creating a a good environment (that may players really enjoy playing in). If this team is ever to win another world series, it has to have a "loose" attitude again and become a clubhouse that players enjoy being a part of......however, I don't believe that atmosphere stems from the manager.....I believe it is created more by the fan base and the support (or lack of support) that it shows. What fantasy world do you live in?

So that's how it's going to be, eh?

Quit stalling everyone and close this thread.

I'm for it.

At this point I would not re-sign Dye, Thome, or Contreras. I only hope we can find a serviceable left handed hitter with pop in the free agent market or in a trade (Alexei).

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:06 AM) The Lee trade brought back a RP and three starting position players (Pods in trade and AJ and Iguchi with the money it freed up), what kind of return do you expect KW to get for Alexei? A very good 3rd OF to go with Rios and Q...preferably a left handed one.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:07 AM) a rookie pitcher from japan who we have never seen before....this probably wont end well....please prove me wrong for once this week At this point is there any type of pitcher that we do hit well?

QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 08:38 AM) Obviously I'm in the minority here but I like Cowley. I hate when beat reporters just trot out the company line and spin everything positive. He definitely doesn't do this, nor is he bland like, say, Gonzalez. I like him for many of the same reasons I liked Sam Smith (albeit in a slightly different capacity). Ditto

QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 07:43 AM) And as Lostfan points out, can we just bookmark this thread and bump it a few times a year? You're proving our point. The offense struggles mightily every April and August. When will adjustments be made to address this?

My favorites include Nas and Kool Keith.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:32 AM) Glengarry Glen Ross is a man's movie. Every bit of dialouge is fantastic. Every actor is outstanding. Among my favs of all time. Same here. And luckily I'm a closer. I really enjoy my coffee.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) You know what I'm happy about? It's that if we're atrocious the remainder of this road trip (and I don't see why we wouldn't be), there should be NO excuses. What contributing player aside from Peavy was on the DL the final 40 games? EVERYONE is here. We're not the Mets. There will be no one to blame but ourselves. Or if you're Hawk, the ump every other game. -

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 08:47 PM) I saw Pena coming on and saw who the BoSox had coming up, and I knew it was over. Pena is no match for Ortiz. Why would you think that? Didn't you know Coop can fix him? -

It's like clockwork with the offensive slump in August. What is up with that? Is anyone held accountable? -

Thank God our offense is so good at coming back in late innings.
