QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) Kenny Williams is seeing that he cant compete with the big boys UNTIL we get a legit leadoff hitter... The entire team isn't hitting. Pods is one of the few that is.- Alphabetical Conversation Thread
HeGone33, I disagree.- We love you Gordon, oh yes we do
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 09:55 AM) Which is why I laugh every time someone in the media tries to say they aren't sure if he's a first ballot HoF'er. You knew that he would crush any mediocre pitcher like the one we just saw on Sunday (2-11 with ERA over 6). The elite pitchers still would have trouble getting him out since he would so often muscle a fister over the infield.- We love you Gordon, oh yes we do
AS much as I love Gordon and the over the top posts we've seen regarding him I now realize how special Frank Thomas was when he came up. The guy was just flat out intimidating and seemed like he could never slump. A once in a lifetime type hitter.- the OFFICIAL this team is really frustrating me thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 09:21 AM) yeah over the last month it has gotten much worse. Even the guy you can count on(Thornton) is getting touched up I'm actually dumbfounded that opposing scouts haven't figured out that he throws nothing but a steady diet of lazer straight fastballs down the middle of the plate.- Are you...

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Well the Linebrink sucks mantra didn't just show up over night. He's been giving up a lot of runs for an eternity. And I can remember Jenks giving up some runs at least a couple of times on either side of the kidney stones issue. It's not been a good stretch for the BP, and when you consider that this is supposed to be a strength, there's trouble brewing, er exploding. I stopped believing that myth 2 months ago.- Are you...
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) How misleading do you really think it is? Ok, so maybe instead of 20 it's 16 or 17. It's still suggestive of a terrible bullpen. And when you consider the games where the starters went 7-8 innings, and all the bullpen had was 3 - 6 outs, it shouldn't change your mind. Did you honestly need that stat in the first place to tell you that the bullpen isn't all that good?- Are you...
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) According to joesaiditstrue in the chat, the White Sox bullpen has done the following since the All-Star break: In the last 35 games, the bullpen has given up atleast one run in 20 of them. Williams has a lot of problems ahead of him. That's a misleading stat. What about games where the starter was pulled in the 4th and the bullpen only gave up 1 more run the rest of the way? I'd call that a good job by the bullpen. - Sox vs. Sawks 8-26-09 Gavin 10-8 3.98 vs. Wake 11-3 4.31
