  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) I agree with you that the GOP and McCain/Palin have run a far worse campaign, dirt and slime wise, than Obama and the Dems have. I see it as being a product of a number of things, but there are three primary ones, IMO: 1. Desperation. They are about to lose. 2. The GOP marketing team, starting about 10 years ago and ramping up after 9/11, made a decision to exploit fear in order to gain electoral ground. 3. The GOP faithful have seen their party take hold of power in a big way, and basically squander it, accomplishing very little. They are frustrated. But this attempt to angrily divide our country could really do some damage. The economy is in shambles and it won't take a whole lot to provoke some people into doing some bad things.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) I assumed you were referring to the black-and-white comment, since you were talking Civil War. No. There's a theme now with that nut case from Minnesota and now this guy. And then there's Palin's comments about pro-American parts of the country. WTF is going on with these people?? It's getting scary.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 12:56 PM) Do you hate me Big Sqwert? Huh?
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 12:57 PM) Its the South. Some people there don't think the first one ever ended. And its the "War of Northern Aggression". Anyway, this is not "certain parts of the GOP", these are a few fringe lunatics. They exist in both parties. That quote was from a member of Congress.
  5. I'm getting the feeling that certain parts of the GOP are trying to start another civil war.
  6. Good post yesterday on MediaBloodhound. Andrea Mitchell is a ninny.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) What on earth are you talking about? I can't even tell what you are trying to say with that double-negative. The unusual and highly secretive nature of her most recent birth. My previous post has a link with more info.
  8. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 08:52 AM) Since no green, I'm sure you will source this S**tty post. And if not, keep it in the Dem thread. Some info here.
  9. Quote from McCain in Pennsylvania: I'd love to see some evidence that the Obama campaign is actually attacking Joe the plumber. (queue Super Mario Bros theme song)
  10. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 09:05 AM) I'm off to go vote now; hooray. I voted yesterday after work. Felt good.
  11. Now all we need is the Reverend Wright stuff to resurface and the GOP/McCain camp can be 100% in the gutter to end his campaign.

    QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) I agree completely. You definitely won't regret watching it for the flight, but it's not like you'll want to watch it again for a while. Now that I think of it, this is exactly the type of movie that they'll probably show on the flight tomorrow. It's never anything I'm dying to see.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) But when your opponent extends an olive branch... Extends an olive branch after spending a full week telling America how he "pals around with terrorists". I'm amazed at how civil his reactions have been given the circumstances.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) If he wins this thing I will be there. Do you need tickets or anything for this? I could see a couple hundred thousand showing up. The rally is on election night...not afterwards.

    QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) I kinda liked it. What a ringing endorsement.

    Anyone see Charlie Wilson's war? Flying to the west coast tomorrow and had it queued up. My interest level is very low though. Thinking of grabbing something else instead.
  17. Per MoveOn, this ad will air in states the day before and the day of Palin's appearances there. On Monday, it's running in Nevada, a state Palin visits tomorrow.
  18. So who's going to the Grant Park rally on election night to see Obama? I know my wife and I, along with a group of friends, will be in attendance.
  19. It's no different than paying someone money to hand out fliers and they wind up dumping them all in the garbage can. They just wanted a quick and easy way to get paid.
  20. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) 2000 was more fun because it was unexpected. Who expected us to win the division this year? I thought we would be terrible.
