BTW, using an acronym like "RSO" is only effective when more than 1 person uses it.

Obama vs. McCain Debate III
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 07:56 AM) ...but as I saw him while Obama was talking I kept shaking my head. He came across poorly, IMO. So if McCain wins is that how he's going to conduct himself in front of world leaders he doesn't agree with? Smirking, rolling his eyes, etc. Not very presidential.

A snippet from Andrew Sullivan's live blogging of the debate...that I completely agree with:

I watched CNN for the first time (debate-wise). The split shot was not good for McCain. Rolled his eyes a few times and had a dear in the headlights look at one point. Definitely didn't help his cause.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) How the hell do you accidentally send out talking points? The only way you can do that is if you want to do it. No kidding. For a campaign that is described as a well-oiled machine I find it hard to believe that this was accidentally leaked.

Obama vs. McCain Debate III
Tonight’s 90-minute debate from Hofstra University, moderated by CBS’s Bob Schieffer, begins at 9:00 pm ET. The topic is domestic policy, and like at the first debate, there will be two-minute responses to questions with an additional five minutes of discussion. But unlike past debates, McCain and Obama will be seated at a table.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) What's the format for this one. It better be improved from the last travesty. Both candidates sit at a table.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) To me, McCain is an outsider, he doesn't see America the way I do. And neither do the secessionist Palins.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 12:09 PM) Ok sorry didn't mean to let facts get in the way. You're correct McCain and his campaign started all this. So instead of proving Obama wrong they went ahead and started saying "he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky." Brilliant! And it's working so well too.

When Obama was getting massive crowds in the primaries and in Europe the conservatives on here kept saying how it didn't matter. Apparently crowd size matters now.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) From that link: "McCain had no trouble fraternizing with ACORN in 2006 when their political interests coincided with his." Just shows that as usual, McCain is willing to reach across the aisle in a non partisian way and work with those on the other side for a common goal. But since he has closer ties to ACORN and there are instances of reported voter registration fraud then I must assume that the McCain camp is somehow involved. It's similar to the Obama Ayers connection. Obama must be a terrorist so McCain must be supporting voter fraud.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) Yeah, the Mickey Mouse ones are stupid, but how about John Jones? Or Mary Smith? Or any of the other thousands of made up names that have been registered? If they are not checking ID's or verifying in any way, anyone could vote for any of the fictious names that are registered. They could even TRY and vote for Mickey Mouse, and if there is no ID law present, how can the officials really stop them? Then you must be right. Something must be done to stop McCain and his close ties to ACORN. We cannot let them steal this election.

Voter registration fraud does not equal actual vote fraud. There's a HUGE distinction.

FYI - If you register Mickey Mouse to vote that does not mean that a candidate will get a vote on election day from Mickey Mouse.
