Is there a bigger douche bag than Dennis in TV right now? I love it.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) Ronnie soooooo wants to kill Shane. Only problem, is that Tavon will get to him first. About 3 more episodes, and one night Tavon shows up and puts a cap in Shane's azz. I still forsee bigger and badder things in Ronnie's future, possibly even being the one to whack Vic at the end and be the only one to ride off into the sunset alive. I was disappointed with Vic's change of heart at the end, and he should have sent more than 2 gys to do the job. I'm surprised Tavon wouldn't have asked for some type of investigation into the accident he was involved in.

2008 General Election Discussion Thread

QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) I applaud McCain for his honesty. I don't. He should be ashamed of himself. It's McCain and his campaign that started all of this and now that everyone is calling him on it he's finally acting on it. What a disgrace. What happened to the McCain of 2000? That man is long gone. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 07:20 AM) I don't know. Their whole campaign at this point is "Obama is scary" and "we're Mavericks!" Abusing the powers of your office isn't very Maverick-y. I think you'll see them lose a point or two from this, and with the way things currently are, it makes a McCain comeback almost impossible. Indeed. I can't imagine this being a good thing for the few independents that were supporting this ticket.

And it makes it much more difficult to continue her "who is Barack Obama?" stump speeches.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) Did anyone seriously believe that about her? Well, maybe they believed that in that they believed she was a truly religious conservative of the sort that actually makes up the religious right and in that sense they thought she was a new kind of politician, but beyond that, who actually still believed that? I assumed someone must have since they are still getting around 41-43% nationally.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 07:03 PM) Seriously, that's what you got from reading that key statement? Unless there's something else buried in the report, you found that to be game over? It completely negates her as being some kind of new type of politician to fix Washington. She's just another dirty pol that was caught not telling the truth.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) Did anyone catch the 30 minute weekend update SNL last night? If this is any indication of what SNL still is, I'll be running away from my television on saturday nights. It was absolutely terrible. They opened up with a 12 minute bit about the 2nd debate. I didn't crack a smile the entire time. It was completely unfunny and whats worse is that it kept going and going and going. Then the snarky weekend update with pohler and that other guy started. I think out of the 15-20 stories they covered, I laughed once. The black economy guy (that actor has never been funny the entire time he's been on that - keenan? wayne? something like that) and the Hall and Oates bits were equally bad. I dunno, maybe I'm getting old. I just don't find anything they do as even remotely funny. I'd have to agree. Absolutely brutal.

McCain camp's response to the increasingly angry mobs attending their rallies yelling things out like "traitor", "terrorist", and "kill him".

John Weaver, John McCain's former top strategist: "People need to understand, for moral reasons and the protection of our civil society, the differences with Senator Obama are ideological, based on clear differences on policy and a lack of experience compared to Senator McCain," Weaver said. "And from a purely practical political vantage point, please find me a swing voter, an undecided independent, or a torn female voter that finds an angry mob mentality attractive."

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) Here is a new McCain ad about Obama and ACORN. Finally McCain with a negative ad. I was getting tired of the positive ones flooding the airwaves.

Anyone else catch "Testees" last night. Not sure what I think about it.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) ^POTY. It's not even close anymore. Really? So being a phony is considered great advice?

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 10:51 AM) You keep saying that. What would you do? What would you have your glory boy do? But I thought you were against socialism and big government?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) I miss Laurie Dhue. No idea who she is but I can gladly say I have never turned on Fox News in the 14 years I have had DirecTv. Not even by accident. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 12:05 AM) "Sunny" was really bad tonight. The final 8 minutes are so really dragged and the subject matter was just unfunny. That show is headed in an odd direction. Underwhelming season to say the least. Look forward to watching this week's Shield tonight. Had to watch the debate on Tuesday.

Media Bias: Perceived or Real? To what extent, and where?
BigSqwert replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
I know that was a long article with a million links embedded but it's a darn good read. -
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 08:52 AM) Truth be told, I agree with that. I was just stirring the 'ol pot yesterday. It really pisses me off that the Republicans have been handed a chance on a gold platter to explain why they can help better then their (socialist) pals. But for whatever reason, they've just played dead, and all they want to do is fear monger. Guess what? It isn't going to work this election. Talk about why RSO will take away money from the economy as a whole and they win, but for some reason they can't do that, and it's sad. Like the way McCain wants to have taxpayers bail out the banks?
