QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who gives a hoot about the f***in Cubs I wish Freddy the best! Thanks for making our beloved Chicago White Sox a World Series Champion! I bet he will be eager to face 7 men lineups in the NL. So wondering what the next move will be...hmmm...let the speculation begin... -

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> fathom you know very well by now you and I disagree on the importance of the coaches/managers. I blame the players. Blow up the actual pitchign staff; not the coach. No offense to the BA lovers, but is he a worse prospect now than Jeremy Reed/ Borchard? BA has 32 RBIs this season; good job, Brian. And an ofer again tonight for BA. i learned my lesson not to ever underestimate how important coaches/management have on a teams performance.... -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Here's a question: will Neal Cotts be in the majors next year? Here come the boo birds tonight. It's too bad Ozzie won't get fired for this mess. He's done an absolutely horrific job of managing during the 2nd half of the season. i was just thinking back to Cotts first ever appearance for the sox and how he walked everybody in his first start...then i was so impressed with the way he became so dependable...whatever happened to the poor guy? -

must win game indeed! it would seem very nice to at least have the opportunity to sweep Minn at the end of the season to force a 1 game playoff. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The deal was never close to being completed. Jim Bowden basically used his friendship with Kjurkijan (no clue how to spell his last name) in order to try and create a bidding war for Soriano. The Sox were never going to trade for Soriano, and then lose him after 2 months. We won't be able to afford his 4-60 million dollar deal he'll get after this year (watch the Cubs try to get him to play 2B). Remember when people said that Contreras throwing from the side wasn't done in order to alleviate the pressure on his back? Just look at how much more sidearm Hermanson is pitching this year with his bad back. gotcha...thx! -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The front office likes BMac and Broadway. interesting....Nationals selected Ryan Zimmerman 5th in the draft so Broadway must not have meant that much to Wash. i wonder if we ever shopped pods & bmac for soriano? in other words KW killed the deal that was supposedly imminent? -

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Come on. now i just want to see the youngsters. put haeger in actually i would rather see pods catch. aj in center. uribe in right. crede at first. pk in left. iguchi pitching. ozzie at third. cora at short. and harold as the dh. man su at second. what would really be the difference at this point? at least then i would get a kick outta watching the team play. -

i am wondering if KW is kicking himself for not pulling the BA & BMac for Soriano deal. Keep the same team as last and at the allstar break trade for soriano? that sounds like pretty good hindsight. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's getting to the point where if we can get some good value for Contreras, you have to consider trading him. There's been such a huge decline in his stuff since last season. No one is mentioning how he's throwing 3 mph less than he was last year. there went the trade value...LOL!!! -

speaking of extremely hot wives that love the sox http://forums.di.fm/member.php?u=33561 QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everett and Rowand helped lead the Sox to a World Championship in 2005. Everett's talents had been slipping the past few years and by 2006 it appears he's about through as a major leaguer. Rowand was doing pretty well in Philly but suffered two major injuries, one which ended his season. It's irrelevant what they did this year, the point is last year they were key members of the Sox and a major contribution of both of them was their fire, intensity and leadership both on and off the field. The Sox are lacking those qualities this year. Amen brother...!!! & we wont win again consistently until we find those type of players again! -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> AJP's been a dog this entire 2nd half of the season. Everyone keeps saying we need these "urgent" players like Rowand, etc. Isn't this what Ozzie is supposed to be good at? when it comes down to it...the player either accepts losing and goes home to the wife in his mansion...or has so much desire that winning is the only thing that matters...these days it is so difficult to find players with talent, charisma, pride, and heart. i am sure as fans we dont really understand the grind of 162 games + preseason and all the travelling...at least i guess... -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We all know the season is over...but don't you think these players would have at least a little urgency tonight knowing that their season's not over, and the Twins/Tigers lost? urgency is something like an intangible...we let those players go...i will say that i am surprised that AJ is taking this so well...?? he is the one guy that i thought would show his face...OZ probably told the guys to let him do all that... -
