I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go to hell White Sox. The fans dont deserve this but I remind you that we knew it was coming. The day that KW let Aaron Rowand go was the biggest mistake! He sold our soul and basically insinuated that anyone was expendable no matter what your contribution leading up to that point might have been. I must say that wouldnt motivate me or make me feel like we are building the sense of team. Is it possible that KW felt threatened by someone like Aaron Rowand? I am starting to believe so. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Some very strong comments by Pods. It's a good thing Ozzie likes him. exactly...."the tough get going when the going gets tough"!

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL. If only they had A-Row. Then the bullpen would magically pitch better, the entire lineup would be able to pull itself north of the .250 mark, and the starting pitching would be absolutely lights out. Sorry, Rowand does not belong in the same catagory as players like Zambrano and Verlander. They are actually very, very talented. Rowand is an average player who busts his butt. By the way, Philly hasn't exactly been stellar since A-Row has been there. If he's such a difference maker, why aren't they running away with their division? A better argument might be that the Phils are at least fun to watch with him. The Sox are now unbearable without him. BTW, I wonder what Damaso's numbers are with the Pirates...

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oh god... please tell me this was a joke post. The joke is on us now. Outside of AJ, we are left with aging individual professionals that lack demonstrative leadership. Who on this team currently is manning up and putting the team on his back with his play/attitude? I really liked the Damaso Marte/Aaron Rowand baseball players. I remember one night that Damaso gave up a home run and couldnt believe it happened to him. He really believed he was awesome and showed passion and anger that somebody beat em. Aaron always came to play. I knew he was championship caliber from his play/attitude. AJ is exactly like these guys. IMO we will get alot from the pending deals. We have solid players that just seem to be missing the spark. I get excited to see how guys like Paul Lo Duca, Aaron Rowand, Jake Peavy, Carlos Zambrano, Justin Verlander, Chone Figgins, Joel Zumaya command a certain level of excitement that these players produce from their intense desires to compete, get better, & win.

this is what you get when you remove 'will' from anything in life. AROW was our "will". We deserve every bit of this... Sad but true. I knew this was coming. We usually have a bunch of overachievers, that was the best part of soxfanning. Unfortunately we must bring gamers back into our roster. It could be a while...

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it doesn't matter how long one has been part of a message board. that's just something people say because... hey, they've wasted thousands of hours on this board so it must mean something! the bottomline is i've lurked on this board for a while and i've grown tired of the continual b*tching and moaning with nothing to show for it. atleast throw out some ideas, but NOOOOOOOO many posters would rather criticize, for what? for nothing. Unfortunately, we aren't worthy of scouting talent. I see a definite commitment by the Chicago White Sox organization in winning. Unfortunately, we are going thru a very difficult time for even us loyal fans. Hopefully, our system will produce some exceptional talent. Otherwise, we may be mired in more difficult times. It would be nice if some posters that are somewhat in the "know" surrounding our young talent could get us excited about the near term future by providing us with "scouting reports". For the most part, I have seen generous commitments from our loyal posters on this site to posting positive contributions in this regard. Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to need a lot more of it... -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 07:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it's amazing how KW said he'd be in charge of the draft, yet he never saw Poreda pitch live. If true, this is utterly mind blowing. So how exactly did we come to draft this young man? -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isn't that what we did by drafting Poreda instead of Porcello? I dont follow our prospects at all. I know nothing about our future. Is Porcello a stud? -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 06:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rebuild the arms? Uh outside of the flamable pen. The starters have been fine for the most mark. Our biggest strength is our pitching. Our hitting prospects, good god. There we can get some talent from someone else. We have a collective group of individual winners that dont have the individual competitive spirit to win. We let that spirit go to Philly in Arow. Instead, now we have to wait until KW finds a couple of pitchers that will take the mound with the talent and desire to punk the other teams with an attitued of "you aint getting nothing off me today you son of a bitck." Currently, I dont see that in anybody on the bump. -

Well I hate to say this but we must look to rebuild the arms on this team. KW needs to make moves to bolster the pitching staff. Is there anybody on this team to get excited about? Not really... There should be an absolute fire sale soon. -

whats even worse is watching the game over mlb.tv and hearing the call from the Detroit Tigers broadcast team. for quite a long while now our mid-infielders have been going very deep into the outfield for balls. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps the team will rally around this? I can dream can't I? sometimes it is better for younger guys to just get thrown into the opportunity than to over think it. you never know how it clicks for some guys to gain confidence. it will be interesting to see the teams reaction. i agree with you and the team will rally around it. -
