QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) Why Viz in the biggest game of the season? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> because he has balls & gets guys out! forget the Viz from the beginning of the season. he has transformed!
-
unreal! there is really no way to describe this year! this game is going to kill the tribe. the best part about this game was the crowd.
-
this is really a season to remember...the tribe are clearly the best thing going right now....make an error....give up the game...and then don't even make the playoffs....go figure! if borchard wins it with a homer in the 9th i am going to die laughing!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Great job Freddy. He struggled early but really battled through and kept the Sox in this game. He showed a lot of toughness and I for one am thinking this will be the game that gets him back on track down the stretch. Hopefully Neal can come in and set the tribe down and keep this game tied up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i agree with you but am concerned with the high pitch count in a pressure game might lead to a letdown against the twins later in the week...? it is all fun the rest of the way fellas!
-
OMG i thought that was a hit!
-
whitesox will win this game!
-
team with more errors loses the big games!
-
Arow 3rd!
-
there is no sense of false energy from the fans & the club seems to be battling pretty hard....i can see a major comeback in the order

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Money and attitude? Bonds just threw himself into action without any significant rehab time. He showed a lot more balls than most people would give him credit for by coming back when he did. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if he can run, hit, & field then you better get your butt in there if the playoffs are on the line. end of story!

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) You know I'm a pessimist, but I honestly believe the Indians are the best team in baseball. They have an extremely deep, talented lineup, a great bullpen, and some starting pitchers who have stepped it up big time. If you add confidence and their comeback ability, they're my pick to win the World Series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the indians are 5.5:1 to win the AL

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) I have to agree with that MORONotti article. Rieny and KW failed to add a bat to bolster our chances. Now we are about they are about to fail once again. KW's offeason moves= A- KW's mid-season moves= F-. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> still not quite sure about that...the future of Anderson & BMac will determine that. you know we never put the tough guys in a place to succeed. i still think that Arow is the toughest guy and that Gload would have been nice to give a long look.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) Like I said, Bonds told him he couldn't play that game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i read your post...thanks didnt follow up that story it made me so sick. you know the oldtimers must really puke what goes on these days with the way money and attitude dictate everything.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) This crowd wants to erupt, we are giving them no reason too!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> our crowd is incredible...they still keep getting up out of their seats. last playoff series against SEA really hurt me to see our fans keep getting off their duffs and just pummelled to the dirt with nothing!
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) The Giants have more important things, like keeping Bonds healthy. No reason to have him get hurt. They got to ease things back, no matter how tempting it would be to let him play every day. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if i were bonds and realized my chances were dwindling...you would have had to kill me to keep me out of the lineup! ease things back? why did he play the first 2 games? it was a day game after a night game so they rested him. alou is not a good manager!
-
back to the subject of giving guys rest on the third game...did anyone notice how stupid alou is of SF for letting bonds rest when they played the third game against the SD the other day? i mean what is he tired? if i were SF fan i would hate that manager. win that game and they wouldve been 4 back at the time. yeah no prob give him the day of WTF?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) Who said thought it didn't matter? I don't understand the reasoning for resting the starters twice a week if we were thirty game above .500 or 15 below. People were saying how they were gonna be needed in september... but how about we won an additional 3-4 games in the previous five months without the s*** line-up and we may not be having the problem we currently are. He is the total opposite with his offense and his pitching. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so where did OZ learn this? did he seem tired to you when he played? from florida's WS run? is he a believer in letting the whole team play? i don't get it really....it seems like alot of our starters are getting tired lately. maybe he shouldve rested some of them...
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Rowand is not a three hole hitter. We don't really have a bonafide three hole hitter. We have a clean-up/ five hole hitter in konerko. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> we will never know at this rate. even so i think Arow enjoys pressure and would respond very well to the challenge. it would force him to study more and would eventually make him a better hitter. i wouldn't have forced the issue by attempting to steal when milwood's pitch count was quickly approaching 40 thru 2 innings....?
-
why run with Arow at the plate?
-
well as an athlete you want to get into a groove. ozzie has approached this season a little weird. he keeps mixing up the lineup. i don't know if it is matchups or to avoid guys getting tired. they have had such a lead the entire season it made sense for him to approach it this way? but i think he is way overdue to put a set lineup on the field....that is my take on why the offense cant get going...as well as not putting Arow in the 3 hole!

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) balty 2, yanks 0 bottom 4 Devil Rays 4, BoSox 2 bottom 3 chance for this to be a good night -- but freddie better turn it up <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that is very nice scoreboad!

trivia question: when was the last year that the bigs saw zero nohitters? btw i don't know the answer....
-
sox announcers on mlb.tv here also
-
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) mute the cleveland announcers and listen to Rooney and Farmio on the internet. do that all the time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> more like turn down the volume on the mlb.tv announcers and CRANK the background to some heavy trance on www.di.fm!
-
QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Just f***ing great. The mlb package has the Cleveland feed. :puke Oh well, at least i don't have to hear HAwk and Dj complain about the umpiring <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love the Tribe announcers! They are awesome! DJ is so monotone & i must say that Rooney tries to make a screaming foul ball sound like a double up the ally. i would love farmer and the hawk together!
