  1. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) I'm starting a White Sox Losing Streak therapy group...lol. PM me if you want in. CWSOX45 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i tried to give emotional insurance at 35:1...this is so freakin predictable it isn't even funny! & we have the bears to look forward too? they suck more than any other all because of the wilber marshall deal....! this will turnaround but the question is when? i say more cade mcnown & joe borchard....OMG
  2. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) So were you one of the "smart" Sox fans that were cheering on the cubs in the '03 playoffs. Not me. I was one of the "dumb" ones sporting a Marlins hat! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hat? my money was totally on the Scrubs to blow that series! the only good thing about a cubs fan is that they also love the bears, bulls, & hawks!
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) Remember you are talking to the guy who predicted $3 gas earlier this spring... $5 gas isn't that far out of the question. If we get one terror attack in the United States on the energy sector (a refinary would be the worst) Crude Oil at $100 a barrel would not shock me at all. Most likely without an extraordinary happening, we won't see anything more than where we are now. Really these prices are going to start to cripple sectors of the economy and reduce demand that way. These price levels are pretty unsustainable long term, and if they do stay here long term, we are going to have an ugly recession. And a recession wouldn't be a pretty thing now because so many people are so far in debt, that bankruptcies and foreclosures would go nuts. Like I said, personally I think we are at, or near, the highs unless we get attacked. If that happens all bets are off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We aren't even close to the highs. This is an unlimited resource! CHINA & INDIA are not even close to what their demand levels will be in the next 20 years. Supply vs Demand is gonna kill oil. If the US had any clue we would be pushing like a mother to develop alternative vehicles. This part really pisses me off. What are we waiting for? This stupid oil deal alone could lead do terrible wars.... I remember when they were debating on building a killer railway between LA & SD but the big 3 wouldn't let em do it, said Americans love their cars way too much...BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) How many times must this be said? Jinxes and Curses are nothing but poor excuses for losing. If we dont win it aint because someone wrote something on a message board. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bartman was an absolute jinx! And so were the idiot fans around him who didn't body slam that boy to the ground to get OUT OF THE WAY! I blame the idiots around him more than anything. That play single handedly cost the Scrubs the WS. THAT IS FINAL! I would have taken that moron down so fast he wouldve thought his muther in law hit em.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) A little late for this, but I was thinking about that Stewart game-winning hit last night: Why the f*** wasn't Crede guarding the line? First, every pitch Adkins was throwing was an inside fastball. Stewart is a batter who hits a lot of balls down the line. Second, with Anderson having a good arm in LF, even if you protect the line, you're giving yourself a shot at throwing out the runner at home on a single. However, if the ball goes down the line, you have no shot. Just seems like pretty simple baseball strategy to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you forgot one thing and that is when you are in a slump for sure stewart would have hit the ball right in the normal shortstop hole. nice news is that we are slumping together. this shouldn't last much longer.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Because it's going to be a lot easier to get 1 or 2 extra outs from a starter than it is going to be to get those outs from a bullpen that was blown out last night. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> perhaps so but we just saw mb stats since july 1st. isn't a bit much to push him at this point?
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Anyone else anticipating an Ozzie blowup with the media when they start to question him about this team fading down the stretch? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no way. he will treat the media like he does the team. he is man enough to say what the problems are.
  8. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) Is Ozzie retarded? Why is Buerhle still in? There is absolutley no need to have him still in here when he's already over 100 pitches and the game is not in doubt. One, he hasnt been overly effective, and two, theres no need for the extra innings. He throws enough as is and its just pointless to push him here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no kidding..i mean if you cancel BP because the team is tired...why push a starter?? we are a couple of injuries away from disaster as it is...
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Why did Ozzie cancel BP? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when you have a tired team especially after last nights game...BP just makes you even tireder i guess...??
  10. i wonder if our fans would have stood up and cheered for the no hitter in the ninth if it were to have gotten to that point...

  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) We need to admit that we may be seeing the beginning of one of the largest collapses in sports history. How pathetic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> go cash in at 35:1 on www.sportingbetusa.com. at least that was the line this morning...drop $100 gets you $3500.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) This is vintage Sox vs Twins late in the season baseball. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 35:1 we don't win the division....
  15. better to go thru this skid now than later? for those doubters out there you can get 35-1 that Minn or Clev win will the division... if TB wouldn't have swept Clev....wheww....! what a whacky year this has been. at this point i wouldn't rule out anyting.
