QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 10:04 PM) So 30% of the world's green jobs are coming in a country with 2% of the world's population? That's absolutely fantastic. lol too bad 100% of the dollars were US tax payer funded. it was about US 'green jobs' government money being spent.

Financial News
CNN had a report on green jobs. They begrudgingly admitted that over 70% of 'green jobs' created have been overseas and that there is no way that trend will end with the current status quo.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) Ok, so you're saying there's no correlation, and hence y'all are just ranting for no reason? no, i'm saying your guy, Obama has been a complete failure. even worse the GW Bush if you take in time in office + deficit + job losses.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) Can someone demonstrate any correlation between that metric and economic performance? Hell, the Bush Admin. shows a ton of private sector experience and virtually zero job growth, that almost argues for a negative correlation. haha not really. Obama job growth and deficit? quick! delete the data! but you are right GW sold out the country on the economy, but your lord and savior (barackus the great) hasn't done s*** except burn 1.5 trillion in 1 year and lose what 5 million jobs?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 08:45 AM) I think the next really interesting inflection point will be in early January, when we see the December (and holiday season) retail numbers. There is also a lot of ground to make up. 7+ million jobs lost is going to be hard to reconcile. Will a jobless recovery still be a recovery when the numbers were this big? 5 months after the recession formally ended there are still jobs losses. At this stage in the jobless recovery in 2002, jobs gains were being seen already. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2010. But November was very good news, only 11k jobs lost.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) Also not surprising that the regular posters in the Filibuster are a bunch of know-it-alls the majority of the posts in here probably make no sense to most people. Like a rant about Barney Frank; most people in the general public would have no idea who that is, but here he has 100% name recognition.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 12:10 PM) Based on what data? Until today's Dubai debacle, most people saw the markets as being pretty centered value-wise, from the articles I have read. That's why its been treading water. Its only overvalued if you think that retail and/or manufacturing are in for a big fall in the near term, and that's not what most of the supposed experts are saying right now. Retail and the US consumer is wounded; in the next couple years critically. Corporations won't make inroads into developing markets which is what would need to happen to keep value. Losing this many consumers, and propping them up with unemployment benefits, is not a stable solution.

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 26, 2009 -> 09:35 AM) I thnk the problem we have is also rooted in a feeling among the "out party faithfuls" who want to see the President (Bush or now Obama) fail so they can say I told you so, etc. Amazing to me in this is that they desire this even if it makes their own lot in life worse. lol so true

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) All politics is local Unemployment is as local as it gets. For 99% of Americans the only unemployment rate we care about begins and ends at our driveway. I know way too many talented people that are still actively looking. That's all I need to know. The rest is all mouse sweat and floofy dust. Indeed.
