I just saw some of Obama's recent press conferences in which he goes after McCain. He did well. I liked a lot of what he said. Obama 1 McCain 0 not sold on him yet, basically because his hard core supporters are so bats*** crazy. i wonder if he will think he owes them 'political capital'.

a lot of Europe does not hold free speech to be an important right. this is an area where the United States is much more liberal than Europe. for example, left wing entities such as the ACLU will go to bat to protect speech, even if they personally have a great dislike for it. most Americans (right wing and left) consider freedom of speech to be a crucial right.

What it boils down to is this: Hard core McCain supporters will read a lot into any gaffes Obama makes. Hard core Obama supporters will read a lot into any gaffes McCain makes. The most ardent will take these mistakes as a fact that the candidate opposite theirs is completely incompetent and should not be president. I do think that the type of voter who is still undecided or could possibly shift from one side to the other will not think a simple mistake is of grave concern.

I get the feeling that the Dems will start beating the war drums to invade African in an attempt to stop bad things that are happening there and start their own nation building/world cop plans. They will also increase spending by a large margin.
