I can't blame Ozzie anymore....this is ALL on Kenny
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) The Sox were the best team BAR NONE in 2005. totally no way that team was a "fluke"

Who is Worse Right Now?
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 03:11 PM) I would go with McDougal because I am sure he is much better than MacDougal.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:50 PM) I called this situation about 5 minutes before it happened. not much of an accomplishment. anytime one of the sox relievers come in I could "call" a bad outing. I would be right like 80% of the time.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) I don't care if he sticks up for them publically or not....it's just that he keeps putting players out there who are clearly not 100 pct to struggle. He left Pods out there to die last year, and he's doing the same with MacDougal this year. ozzie brings in throrton to pitch, you b****. ozzie brings in aardmsma to pitch, you whine. ozzie brings in anyone and you complain. wtf, it's very simple concept, almost the entire pen sucks... that means just about anyone he brings in will suck understand?

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) Then he needs to stop sticking up for underachieving players (which he always does), and send their ass to the DL or the minors. sicking up for your players in public is better than trashing them in the media IMO who do you want to replace them with? i don't think our minor league rosters have enough talent to shore up this pen. do you want ozzie to make some trades? do you want him to scout the minors for some prospects for the pen?

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) Well, Ozzie is the one making the moves out there. s***ty bullpen or not, when he makes a move and it costs us a game, he's going to get the blame as well as the reliever. well in all fairness to ozz, he has nothing to work with out of the pen. i don't care what manager you have on the sox bench, these relievers would still be giving up big time runs.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Exactly. So who's to blame for that? Kenny Williams. Not to mention this offense IS STILL anemic. Ozzie however also needs to be blamed, he has still made plenty of questionable calls in April til mid May. blame KW or Cooper for the pen. what is ozzie supposed to do? they all suck? i guess he could have position players pitch, which has been mentioned here.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:28 PM) I don't care if Wells is 0 for his last 100, and Stairs is hitting well....I'll take my chances against Stairs every single time. Ozzie over the last 5 years has made every move imaginable during a game to not let Stairs face us. the pen can't get anyone out. i know in your world "everything is ozzies fault". but come on.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/02/07 (L)
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:25 PM) Ozzie for his poor managing, or KW for assembling what he thought would be "One of the best pens in the league." who do you want ozzie to bring in this early? have Jenks throw 4 relief innings every game? the whole pen pretty much sucks outside of the closer and our LOOGY. not really any good options.

How about??
QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) +1 The Ozzie Hatred Hysteria has reached the point where DUSTY BAKER should be his replacement now. amazing, isn't it.

If Carlos Zambrano is a free agent, would you sign him?
i would sign him, but i'd probably be a horrible GM.

Thinking about changing my major
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 02:33 AM) You don't have to figure it all out right now. Take the tuition money and backpack through South America, drop obscene amounts of peyote and then figure it out. That's what I, um, would, maybe do i was thinking more along the lines of dropping out of school, picking up a nice heroin habbit, and forming a really commercial pop-punk band. thats what i would i do if i had to do it all over.

Zambrano is nuts!!
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 10:56 AM) I'm pretty sure they can stitch you up at the park. barrett does seem like a total baby, but i doubt that even he would go to the hospital for a simple bloody lip. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 10:45 AM) There always seems to be wrong with something on this team or in the organization that the majority of our fans just can't let go. It is always the negative first. That attitude freaking sucks. i agree, just look at a game thread when the team is losing. way too much b****ing and hate towards the team.

Zambrano is nuts!!
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) He also has at least 1 black eye, another report says 2. Considering he chased after Zambrano, it doesn't appear he fared very well. haha, well so much for him being a 'tough guy'. i guess he's only good for a lucky sucker punch.

Erstad hurt
QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) He can't hit, has an attitude problem, and is a complete moron. Besides that - yeah you're right he needs another chance - just not on my favorite team. here here

Current trade market analysis
if they are going to do a 'white flag' type deal, go all out. get young players, trading for a guy like griffey is pointless if you are giving up on the current roster.

The Silver Lining Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) Who cares if signing Buehrle is a top priority....once he gets to the open market, we're f***ed. We desperately wanted to bring back Colon, but we couldn't match the Angels offer. Buehrle could fetch a real nice price being traded to a contender after the all-star break . would be a great move IMO if the sox are out of it. don't think we'll be able to resign him.

Happy Birthday PA
- Another Loss into the Abyss
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) Jenks has a screw in his elbow, and bigger stones than the rest of our relief crew. Trading him would get a lot. But have fun with morons and goofs at the end of the games. Maybe we can have 3 to 4 closers in a season, ride the hot arm again. They just had a stat today, where Boers and Berstein stated we had more closers on this team than any other team since 2000. Think about that before you jettison someone who is cheap and pretty good at their job. getting rid of jenks is a bad idea. well, i guess it would depend on what we got in return.- Fun Topic : worst deals in Sox history
QUOTE(Steff @ May 30, 2007 -> 12:31 PM) That deal had even arguments for and against. IMO no konerko = no 2005 world series champs IMO. good deal for the sox - Another Loss into the Abyss
