  1. QUOTE(GaelicSoxFan @ Oct 6, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) I'll vote for her against Jeb (you know he's gonna run on the GOP ticket-he probably sees the Oval Office as his birthright)
  2. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Oct 5, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) Public scorn vs. beheading. No comparrison. Damn those evil Christians and their scorn!
  3. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) Lord it is going to be a long offseason around here.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) If muslims dont like it when someone takes a little swipe at Mohammed then thats too bad. Its called free speech. I also find it truly ironic that certain people are so up in arms that the government is supposedly taking their freedoms away in the terror fight while those same people gleefully surrender their right to free speech to a mob of islamofascist thugs. Pathetic. so true
  5. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) It's bad journalism, and most likely an oversight honestly. highly unlikely. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) so what? How is this newsworthy? i'm sure you thought "macaca gate" was worth all the attention it got QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Media isn't intentionally biased here, they're just damn lazy. they are lazy. they are, in most cases, unintentionally biased. for example, if your news room is 85% democrats they will honestly think a news story that paints a Republican in a bad light is more important than one that does a Democrat. This happens, IMO, because of their immediate trust of a Democrats best intentions and distrust of a Republicans.
  6. those cartoons are great
  7. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) While you're at it. All the Lobbyists in Washington need to be sent packing. Im sick and tired of groups buying influence in Washington. totally it's one of, if not the biggest, problem in government. it's basically legalized bribes.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) We're up to $2 billion a week! i know, the whole thing has been a huge waste of money.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS or PBS would never do something that atrociously biased in their news. i don't think so. they've have done just that on many occasions in the past. large portions of CBS news had to be let go due to blatant pro-democrat bias. Clinton and the Dems are just pissed because he didn't get his ususal 'slow pitch softball' questions he would get from ABC, CBS or CNN. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 03:10 PM) MSM's bias is towards sensationalism and the almighty dollar. Fox's is towards the GOP. the MSM is obviously pro-democrat. FOX is blatantly pro GOP. both FOX and the MSM have a bias towards "sensationalism and the almighty dollar". see, you pretty much agree with the democrats on most issues, therefore when you see biased news casts which ignore stories that put the GOP in a favorable light and show those which make the Dems look good you see a fair newscast. The newscast helped reinforce your world view, therefore you see no problem with them. On the other hand, FOX presents news stories and points of view you usually disagree with thus creating, in your mind, a strong GOP bias presented by FOX news.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 19, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) and the media is going to do all they can, as they always do, to spin this as "Bush's big bounce is finally here"
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) Of course...every single drop of gasoline that Venezuela sold beforehand, it will still sell. It'll just sell under some other name. You know what would be really cool? A law forcing oil companies to display what percentage of each tank of gas comes from which country, i.e. the Made in China stickers you get on everything. i like that idea
  12. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) If the White Sox were in the NL Central we would have had a clinching party by now. totally the Sox could have won about 105 games in that division
  13. I would really like to see the Tigers win it, then i'll take the Twins if Detroit is knocked out before Minn. keep the title in the AL Central
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) The basic science at play there is that an increase in temperatures will in fact lead to an ice age. Counterintuitive as it may be, its what has happened prior to other ice ages. someting to do with large amounts of fresh water entering the ocean via melting ice caps. i guess it slows the oceans currents or something and that leads to a lowering of overall temperature on the surface of the earth.. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) I'm basing my opinion from Penn and Teller:Bulls*** (can't find the episode on google video now) where the first major study was thrown out by the courts because they determined the scientists pre-determined the results and cherry picked numbers to support their case. Groups still refer to this study and increase the number to scare people and link any deaths in a smoking household to second hand smoke. i've heard the same thing.
  15. AJ's homerun against the scrubbies the game after the weak sucker punch
  16. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) while we're at it, what's wrong with co-existing with communism? Reagan spent like a drunken sailor for no good reason and f***ed our economy for years afterward. yea, reagans ecenomic plans sure did ruin the 90's. Clinton was lucky to inherit a strong economy built by Reagan and Bush I. ...
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) Its a shame the Sox set the attendance record the year they had a 3rd place team. I wonder how season ticket renewals will go. i think a lot of new season ticket holders were counting on playoff tickets to help suppliment their investment.
  18. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) Well, he is actually right in blaming Bush for those SPECIFIC failures. not really.... but i'll just leave it at that. i agree with Balta, this argument isn't going anywhere productive.
  19. Clinton was horribly weak on terrorism. but hey, atleast he didn't offend any muslims! YEA!
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) I answered that questions a few posts ago. I am OK with requiring ID as long as ID's can be had in that state (or at a federal level) free of charge. I will never accept the idea of charging for a right. i agree. ps. i didn't see your earlier post,
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) I'll take issue with this part. The reason the Dems don't want ID shown is because their constituents tend to include the very poor and the transient, who are less likely to have IDs. I'd say that neither party lays sole claim to illegitimate voters or questionable voting tactics. do think a potential voter should be able to show any ID, proof of residence or social security number to register? IMO, allowing someone to just give a name and then be registered to vote is almost asking for fraud. i support any reasonable solution to curbing both Rublican and Democratic voting fraud.
  22. QUOTE(SadChiSoxFanOptimist @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) It is not as rampant as organized, systematic voter repression activities initiated by the RNC specifically targeting demographic groups that traditionally vote Democratic. Republicans are very good at that. yea right. you can't figure out how to bunch a "butterfly" ballot that the democrats themselves set up? blame the republicans! show up to the poll 3 hours after it closes and you don't get to vote? obvious racism. really, how much control does the RNC have in voting districts that show heavy support towards the Democrats? if you don't know i'll tell you; the answer is little, if any. the main reason democrats don't want people to show an ID is because they know for a fact that many of their constituants aren't legitimate voters.
  23. McCain would easily defeat Obama
  24. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) Agreed completely. If not for Ozzie, the team wins at least 130 games and doesn't f*** up and lose that one damn playoff game. totally well except the 130 wins part. i would go with a smooth 150
  25. What do you guys think about Jim Webb? I thought he did a good job on Meet The Press
