  1. Chris Christie announces he's not running for President. Maybe now FOX can stop shilling for this guy every 5 minutes.
  2. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20115655-503544.html Perry sinking fast.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) State by state polling shows Herman Cain surging into the lead in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Nebraska, Rick Perry crashing, and Newt Gingrich surging into second or tied with Mittens for 2nd. This is a very fickle polling season so far. Cain is gaining a lot of momentum.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) guys, i think we should just relax. North probably has some quality financial advise for JR. and he also knows of a guy that Jerry can invest all of his money with. haha
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) Curious timing, they didn't need buses for the first two weeks but just happen to have them when they lead a bunch of people on to the bridge and arrest them... yes, a very strange coincidence.
  6. I'm sure Bloomberg gave the orders to fill those buses, no matter what.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) But not as much cheaper as before. The growing trend is a deceleration of the offshore hiring (not that the number is going down - but that the rate is decreasing), and now they are looking at South-sourcing and what not. The pay gap with places like India and China is declining pretty quickly, and with the added overhead of overseas management and the inherent quality and communication problems that often occur, the trend is slowing down. Well, I don't necessarily see that, I see more clients wanting a blend of offshore on shore (clients that only wanted onshore before). They want at least 50% of the work done very very cheap. They also want a lot more types of work done offshore, not just QA or programming. Also, I can get L1 visa holders for 7k a year AND have them work in the US. You can't beat that price. It will take decades to close income gaps with China and India.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) If you're really interested, here's what I believe is the "Official" website/blog of the protests in Chicago. good. i will be there.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) I'm personally a fan of how the NYPD had called in the buses yesterday to prepare for arrests hours before the first arrests actually happened. Bloomberg probably set that up. he's a douche.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 01:02 PM) I believe there was a small one earlier this week that 2k5 had the pleasure of scoffing at and drinking champagne in front of. well that certainly won't do. we need a better protest than that.
  11. anyways i hope there is a big protest outside the Chicago board of trade. i would go.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) As is whoever you'll vote for next year. balta, weren't you just posting in another thread about how stupid it is to refute with "well the other party does it too"
  13. Obama is very angry you are protesting his preferred entitlement class of bailed out wall street guys.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) Please, your post was written to bash the left, in a thread that it's really unnecessary. You're a walking political commercial. well, just want to point out that this is the 'GOP 2012 Nomination Thread'.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) Paid for by mitt Obamneycare romney? It's the republican thread but the daily show did a bit on this earlier this week. There's pretty much no possible person who could have met all the standards of the tea party and been elected anywhere. haha, that is true. but some things are worse than others for candidates. so, let's say a rating of 10 is the worst, with a rating of 1 being least damaging: Obamneycare: 7 (and fading) Perry appearing to support illegal immigration: 9.5 (heating up still. could hit 10)
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) Furthermore, you want cheap. Both, IMO, point TO the unemployed, not away from them. yea, but if you want cheap, going offshore or with guest workers will cost so much less. being cheap with a US salary isn't really cheap globally.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) I wouldn't say that at all yet. Dude is clearly still at the top of the list and he's going to be a force in Iowa and South Carolina. Mittens I think is just skipping Iowa and leaving it to Perry and Bachmann, which leaves a big opening for someone who can win that state. not after the ads about Rick 'Amnesty' Perry start to run
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 30, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Rick Perry really needs a big fundraising quarter. He needs a big showing in that number. Perry has no chance now. He might as well drop out of the race and save himself some embarrassment.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 02:58 PM) New Fox News national poll (no national primary noted again) with a big shakeup from the last poll (previous poll, 8/29-8/31, in brackets). Anyone know what Gingrich did that would have caused a significant surge?
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 02:00 PM) Full Color, 7" tablet from Amazon, the "Kindle Fire". $199. i will buy this
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/...hed-back-maybe/ haha, that's great. now she's saying it was a joke, but someone in the audience recorded it and it obviously wasn't a joke.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) That number seems too unrealistic. It's all round numbers these days. ^^^
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) I just assumed that employers considered the unemployed as the bottom of the barrel. they do
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:38 AM) Not to mention probably cheaper to hire. definitely.
  25. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) ...also let me add that they're overdoing the cigarette tax, and it's starting to come to a head, due to the short-mindedness the government usually displays. They've gone to that well too many times already and the current taxes on cigarettes is at a sticking point where it's almost so high it's priced out of smokers range of affordability (hence why so many people have quit or are simply buying them from Indiana since it's like...you know, 2 minutes away)... agreed, cigarette tax is at a point where raising it will not increase funds raised from the tax.
