QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 04:42 PM) Congrats man! Thanks! This is a great day. No more stress for me.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) I take it that is good news? Yes. Lining my people up with interviews next week. Time to make some real money.

I wish I didn't have to wait til next weekend for Interstellar.

This is going to kill me.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 11:04 AM) Exactly. The NBA is a lot bigger than the Spurs. There should be no special treatment of them regarding scheduling. It's an entertainment business. The Spurs screwed the NBA out of one of the premier early season match ups that was also on the road on national TV. If Pops was so concerned, he should have sat them at home against the Hawks the night before. Hey, I enjoyed all the alley-oops the Rockets threw down.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 10:46 AM) Relax grasshopper. Patience is a virtue. This is the longest wait of all-time.

QUOTE (SnB @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 06:07 AM) When we're hiring and looking at resumes, I immediately judge someone poorly if they're still using an aol email address.... Agreed, actually. Honestly, anything not gmail gets judged quite quickly.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) The worse they can say is no. I doubt they'd pass you over because you requested more money. Maybe if you were adamant about your rate. I just want this wrapped up prior to the weekend.

Ugh. Waiting for a response on a counter is the worst. It's the "I had it, did I screw it up" feeling that makes me want to die.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 09:49 AM) Did you send your contract over to Badger or something, Steve? Considering what you mentioned about the first client signing, and the fact that your company wouldn't be able to fulfill the terms of the deal if you all leave I'd help get the job done.
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 09:19 AM) Anyway you can make one of the conditions of your employment that you want all of your team to come with you? They know it's important. First domino needs to fall today.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 08:13 AM) It'd be a hard decision for me if it meant abandoning this team and knowing that they're all going to get the ax, but with them being able to come over with you seems to make it much easier. I'm not sure they'll all get hired. But I'm sure a lot of them will. They all still live with their parents, too, which helps.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 08:03 AM) If the NBA doesn't want him sitting guys in their late 30s for prime time games, they don't have to make those the 2nd night of B2B's. This. Good point.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) Hopefully Silver has a spine like Stern and fines the hell out of the Spurs and Popovich again I don't see why they should be fined for wanting to win another championship.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 11:42 AM) Steve, Did you sign an employment contract? I do. The non-compete only qualifies for sales people leaving and deals they'd been working. I think I'm in the clear. I countered asking for 12% more. I'm told they'll respond today. That said, I'm taking the job either way. It's too important to my family's future. I could work at this place, worry free, for the next 30 years.

Rose says he tweaked both ankles. Likely out Friday. This is not a joke.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) 1st question would be what sort of non-compete exists in relation to your employment. None. And they were set to cut all of them 12/01.

I just got an amazing job offer. And said company wants to hire the rest of my team. But our first deal closed today. Both things popped at once. By accepting, there's no way my current company can hold up their end of the bargain on the deal that just closed. This new position is with an amazing company, and my entire team comes with. Is it unethical to take the position with the deal that just closed?

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 11:10 AM) He landed on a foot. It happens. I didn't catch what happened to the other ankle. He had no contact when he blew out his ACL and missed an entire season. He had no contact when he tore his meniscus and missed 70 games.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 10:22 AM) Good to know Bulls fans are going to irrationally oscillate between complaining of players playing on injuries and complaining about players sitting out because of injury. This is Derrick Rose. He made it 1.5 games and here we go again. It's a different story. At least Jimmy Butler has taken the leap. 11 FTA and 15 FTA his first two games. Matching that offer sheet is going to suck a bag of dicks, because he's going to get filthy offers.
-
We eagerly await #TheReturn! Hopefully Derrick decides to play again this season. 110% is hard to achieve, though.
