QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 09:22 AM) would there be a better 2nd line center on the market than Kesler? 2-way player, points and lethal at the dot. Such a great fit and instead we've spent our time extending a plug and trading for fringe D men. No. That's exactly what I'm saying. He's a perfect fit. Instead, the Hawks zoned in on their right-handed D-Man. The deadline's not here, but it's pretty clear the Hawks have, once-again, spent their way into inflexibility. $10 million between Bryan Bickell and Corey Crawford for next season. F*cking great.

Apparently the Flyers and the Penguins are going bananas in a bidding war on Kesler. I can honestly not think of a player that would help the Hawks more over the next handful of seasons. He's what they've needed for awhile. Obviously, matching salaries would be tricky for a team up against the cap, but you cannot let the Penguins find a way to make this move.

I had a dream last night that the Bulls traded for LeBron. I pinched myself, because I didn't believe it. I did not wake up. That "pinch yourself" stuff is bulls***.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) Bill Murray's tribute to Harold Ramis while presenting the Oscar for Best Cinematography was pretty awesome. The Bill Murray would dicksuck fest continues. The guy could take a dump on the Lincoln Memorial and someone would say it's great. He and Ramis were feuding for YEARS, but now he wants to get recognized for that tribute. Vomit.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) At that point though, what is in it for the Bulls? It isnt like the Knicks have any draft picks they can send to the Bulls Well, the thought that the Bulls will trade Thibs is moronic, but he dosen't have a lifetime contract.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 11:55 AM) It is funny that NY sports writers still are beating the drums that Thibs is going to get traded to NY. Even with his issues with Gar, that probably looks like Club Med compared to that s***storm in the Knicks ownership/front office. There was a great interview with someone at the NY Daily News on The Score earlier this week that pointed out that the Knicks always get their guy, because they offer obscene money. If the Knicks offered Thibs twice as much as any other team, he'd still say yes.

Batting 2nd
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 08:27 AM) That's part of it, but it's also a spot that meshes together the sparkplug at the top of the order that you want to get on base pretty much at all costs and the big hitters of the middle of the lineup who you want to drive in the runs. So, ideally, you want a guy that does a bit of both, and Garcia is definitely capable of that. Ha. You sound so Hawk in this post. I love it. I tell hyuh what, Stone Pony. That there Adam Eaton is one hellofa spark plug at the top of the order.

Batting 2nd
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 08:19 AM) The 2 hole is one of the most important spots in the lineup Only because it receives more at-bats on the season than the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 spots in the lineup. Beyond that, I am of the mind that almost every at-bat is in a vacuum. Yes, Hawk Harrelson got into a lot of Sox fans' minds with the Tadahito Iguchi swoonfest in 2005, but the only reason the 2 spot is more important than any behind it is simply because there's more at-bats to be had.

Trade for Nomar that never happened
I remember sitting on my lunch break from Blockbuster when these rumors were at their peak in total freak out mode, because I adored Magglio so much.
