  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:56 AM) I fear it's less GarPax and more Thibs. Only way to tank is to force Thibs to play Teague and Snell by trading Kirk, Dunleavy, Deng, and Booz. Or just get rid of Thibs. His irresponsible minutes have led to the ruin of Noah and Deng anyway as well. Can't blame him for broken Rose, though. I'm lashing out. Ignore me.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) If the Bulls are smart and tank this could be their San Antonio Spurs 1996-1997 season that led to them getting Duncan and being able to pair Robinson and Duncan for their frontline. But sadly GarPax will probably keep the status quo and the Bulls will limp into the playoffs setting the franchise back. Preach.
  3. I am running out of things I care about to put into my signature. The Blackhawks are the only team that does not disappoint.
  4. Marc SteinVerified account ‏@ESPNSteinLine Wasting no time, Bulls just announced Derrick Rose has already undergone his knee surgery and declared him out for rest of 2013-14 season
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:30 PM) I just used that Credit Karma thing Nice. I'd never heard of this. Just pulled the report (I always refused to pay $1 and give my details). Credit Rating: Excellent Updated Nov 25, 2013
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 09:23 PM) Wow. Finally watching Man of Steel. This movie is f***ing terrible. I was going to stick with this pile of s*** and see it through, and then it got just too ridiculous. "Clark! They're trying to turn Earth into Krypton! Won't that weaken your powers?!?!" Yes, they were "mining Earth" with a spaceship to change it atmospherically to Krypton - so stupid. And here we thought Kevin Spacey creating uninhabitable land in the last one to create new "real estate" was bad. "That's possible, Lois. But I have to try!" - Superman Also, Michael Shannon was f***ing brutal in this movie. Piece of s***. But don't worry, the sequel has Ben Affleck as Batman!
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 07:43 AM) I actually believe you could move Boozer and Hinrich for Asik and Lin. Both of the later are disgruntled and Howard likes Booz, and Booz has played well this year. Then flip Asik and Lin for more pieces if you can. No one's taking that Asik $15 million dollar hit for 2014/2015 without offloading their own stinky turd. Remember, that's why we let Omer go - $5/$5/$15.
  8. Wow. Finally watching Man of Steel. This movie is f***ing terrible.
  9. Rose having surgery tomorrow. Opting for repair - best case is a 4 month recovery. I'm guessing he's done for the season.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 05:12 PM) I have no idea if they should punt the season for Jabari or not. They are the Bulls, their coach is Tom Thibodeau, and the East is complete garbage. They're still winning 40-some odd games regardless. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) They'd have to shoot a couple guys to make this happen. This.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 05:07 PM) I was never really the same and still have pain sometimes to this day. Your avatar makes me short of breath.
  12. So many variables. If it's a slight tear, they can shave it back and he's back in 2-4 weeks. If it's a fully tear, there's two options: sew it back together and bye-bye season again or take it out and have a gimp leg by the time he's 30 ala D-Wade.
  13. Dr.Geier: Let me explain what's involved and then we can talk about what types can be repaired and what types can't. The majority of meniscus tears are of the type where you go in and trim part of it out. What that it entails is an arthroscopic surgery through about 2-3 small incisions. You look in the knee with a scope and you run a lot of fluids through it to see. Then you use tiny arthroscopic scissors and a shaver to trim out the inner part of the meniscus that is torn. What that does is eliminate the piece of the meniscus that is torn from catching between the bone and causing pain. So you take that out and leave the majority of the meniscus as a shock absorber. That's an outpatient surgery, it takes about 15 minutes to do. Then you work on getting the motion back and getting the swelling down. You're able to put your weight on it right away. And then you can go back to playing. That is about 2-4 weeks although most athletes tell you they will continue to improve over 3-4 months. But you can do things on it right away. I've had athletes get back into it in a couple weeks. I say shave that f***er!
  14. I predict rumors of him returning anytime between March and the 2nd round of the playoffs. I also predict no Flapship article about it.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 03:57 PM) There is a certain whimsy about playing a system that you got when you were 6 years old and changed your life. Super Mario Kart will always be near and dear to my heart.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 04:27 PM) Meniscus tear, requires surgery. Won't know duration or other details until they get a look at it w/ arthroscope Good?
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) When the hell is this MRI? I got a feeling the Bulls know it's a torn acl and are just working on a way to release the results if that makes sense. The MRI is unnecessary anyway. The ACL is torn. Rose already told his teammates it's the same injury. The Bulls 'fear' it's torn. the doc rubbed his knee I'm sure and realized (hey, the giant tendon is split).
  18. QUOTE (Iguchicago @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 06:49 AM) Where's the confirmation? In an MRI later today.
  19. Well, my worst fears when watching the injury have been confirmed. The saddest part about this is the torture of watching the replay. Unlike last time, Rose mentally didn't accept the injury and tried to run on it. His mind is so ruined right now. That's a boy who's going to have some pretty rough days ahead. As humans, we have to care about Derrick and his mental well-being. If his first ACL tear was the "worst day" of his life (his words), then right now I'd be willing to bet he's sobbing somewhere. That's a lot of rehab and mentally building yourself up and lying to yourself only to have the other f***ing knee go out. I can't imagine being mentally strong enough to want to do that again, let alone trying to come back and actually play your style of ball. That's done. Derrick Rose as an All-Star level player is a thing of the past. Man, it happened the same f***ing way. Tweaky little injury that he plays through and the knee goes. His ACLs had a shelf life of 23 years, the second only took longer because of the lengthly absence. I can only assume he's not going to rest 19 months for this one, too. As I stated last night when I first visually realized that there was going to be no prognosis but "f*cked", if amnesty were an option right now - you do it. It's not, so the Bulls need to have a strong 24 hours of brainstorming and come to the resolution that pretty much everyone needs to be traded ASAP for expiring garbage. If the Bulls won four more games this year (or less), that'd be best for the franchise. Since we all know that's not going to happen - what will the Bulls do? Knowing their front office, the chances are high that they'll roll with this team and finish .500. Basketball hell has a seat open on the bus, and it's being kept warm for the Bulls. There's no reason Rose shouldn't be back for preseason. He'll never be the same, though. For a player whom I truly believe cares about basketball first and nothing else, clearly retirement won't be an option. I leave you all with a few gifs. Once done with these gifs, move along, because Derrick Rose is never going to be the same. This was like f***ing 20 days ago.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 11:34 PM) I don't want to overreact yet but if Derrick is dead, we're about to enter basketball hell. Oh yes. Unless they can Thibs and tank. I'm pretty sure he tore it. Watching these replays. This won't be a two week injury. MRI tomorrow. "we're going through this again." - Thibs It's over.
  21. I truly believe this will be an extremely long term injury. Hope for meniscus, brace yourself for ACL. It's too bad his contract came after the CBA making amnesty not an option.
