Jake "The Bulldog" Peavy on evaluating pitchers
Steve9347 replied to Eminor3rd's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am glad the White Sox are rid of Jake Peavy. -
Derrick Rose said after Wednesday's 22-point game that he is more explosive than he was before knee surgery, and that his vertical leap has increased by five inches. "I think I'm way more explosive now," Rose said. "Like getting to the rim. I think I can take contact a little bit better. And as far as jumping-wise, I think I can jump even higher. They tested my vertical -- I increased it by 5 inches."

So I got my first win last week. I wish Gronk would play. Honestly, there's no reason this team can't rip off 4 more in a row (and no reason it should have been 0-5). Still in last place, though. QB Matt Stafford WR Brandon Marshall WR Pierre Garcon WR Reggie Wayne RB LeSean McCoy RB Maurice Jones-Drew TE Rob Gronkowski (this has been a turnstile since I dealt Antonio Gates prior to week 4 when Gronk was "returning". This week I'm rolling with Jordan Reed when they announce that Gronk won't play WE DON'T DO KICKERS FLEX Justin Blackmon (or Marques Colston, what say ye Soxtalk?) DEF - whatever, going with San Diego vs Jax -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 09:04 AM) That seems like something Thibs will correct. Thibs should just send him down to Rucker Park until he can get past half court without getting the ball stolen.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) Snell is going to get minutes. Teague, not so sure. Snell can shoot, but man that boy dribbles like a goofball.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 06:33 PM) I hope Peyton puts up 70 on Irsay's Colts for being a clown.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 10:14 PM) Haha, a scene from Tim Allen's show "Last Man Standing" had me rolling just now. Part of the episode was focused on his daughter choosing a sorority over her boyfriend. In the end it's Mike (Tim Allen) and his wife in the kitchen.... Wife - "I'm just worried about who our daughters will end up with" Mike - "Yeah, well they can't all win the lottery like you did when you got me" Wife - "Yeah, but you'll remember that most lottery winners end up killing themselves" Mike - "And you'll remember that most of them end up blowing their winnings!"  That's pretty good.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 08:25 PM) He didn't even defend that poorly, Rose was just narsty. Rose bein' Rose

I love Derrick Rose.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) “@CSNBullsInsider: Thibs going with Marquis and Kirk together in the backcourt for Derrick and Dunleavy, Nazr for Jo.” Interesting backcourt pairing, I know Jimmy's out but I wonder if that'll show up in the rotation. There's Balta. Welcome back. Bulls are winning it all.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 07:18 PM) They're totally taking the simulated game title away from the Cubs this year. The fun is finally back. Embrace it. This season is going to be extremely fun.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 07:19 PM) Rose is ok He's going to be better.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 08:54 AM) Yeah you hear stories all the time about people that have been married for 60+ years and when one of them goes, the next one goes like hours later. It's been one of those years in my house. MY grandparents both went 23 hours apart earlier this year. Grandma went and Grandpa followed. It was nuts and hell on my mother.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 08:01 AM) My brother went to the game and was honored at intermission as a combat veteran. He was super pumped up about it, they brought him down and gave them seats on the glass. He said it was pretty awesome to get a standing ovation from the crowd. The PR lady made him take off his blackhawks stuff when they honored them on the screen, lol. That's incredible. Awesome.

Man, sometimes you just wish that people would die instead of suffering forever. I know that would be my choice. Wife's grandmother had a massive stroke 2.5 years ago. She's 82 years old. She fought back and was able to eat and communicate relatively well... for awhile. In February, her husband passed away, and her quality of life is just s***. She can barely walk, can barely talk, breaks a rib everytime she coughs, just fell down and tore up her back. It sounds awful, but come on, just take her already. It's sad to see.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 05:23 PM) I pre-ordered the PS3 version of the game, which was to be released in a month. I went with the PS3 version because I was not planning on getting a PS4 until my birthday next June. Now that this game wont be coming out until possibly April I will have to either wait and buy the game in late June when I get my PS4, or buy a PS4 earlier than I wanted to (Because there is no reason to buy a PS3 only 2 months before I buy a PS4). Capisce? Oh yeah, now I get it.
-
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) I wouldn't really be too bummed out about this if I was planning on getting a PS4 at launch, but instead, I was going to wait until June maybe to get one. Well now that the game may come out in April, it is going to make me either buy a PS4 sooner than I wanted to, or not get Watchdogs on release day and wait a few months to get in on PS4. Faaaack. I don't even understand your point with this post.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) Isnt it pretty much a guarantee that once a RB has a 2000 yard year, that the fall off is steep and dramatic? I could have sworn i read something that showed that once a RB crosses that line, chances are they will not be the same again. So you're down on Adrian Peterson this year? -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 09:36 AM) Ridley would have worked just fine, turd I was waiting for this. I wound up subbing out Stevie Johnson for her, moving Terrance Williams to WR, and throwing Ridley in at FLEX. Needless to say, she won. Moral of the story is I > You. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 09:18 AM) HH Gregg? Best Buy? Best Buy It was rather painless to have them waive it if I paid the remaining from my checking account (obviously no problem). I seriously recommend, however, everyone get rid of the paperless billing for credit cards as you miss important information.

Note to people: don't be stupid. 36 months ago I purchased an LCD television for $1,500. I went to make my last payment on it this am and saw I was charged 36 months (thought I had two more days). Ebilling is fun and everything, but always look at the pdf statement. Result: Made the final payment over the phone one day late and they waived the $1,300 fee. I took about 3 s***s waiting for customer service to open. Don't be stupid!

Players on the Tampa Bay Bucs keep coming up with MRSA (staph infections). 3rd case since training camp opened was just revealed. They might cancel the game this weekend due to health concerns. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-11/t...-infection.html

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) Gronk most likely out. WHAT. THE. f***. I always fall for the injured studs. They never come back. I must resist this moving forward. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 04:34 PM) Huh? Adrian Peterson (personal) told reporters he will play in Week 6 against the Panthers "without a doubt." The f***s he gives can be counted on zero hands.
