  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 28, 2012 -> 06:33 AM) Sorry, Reddy. This just isn't true. At all. The easiest positions to fill in fantasy - in no particular order: 1B, OF, SP, RP. 3B isn't that far off from SS and C as far as lack of depth goes. 1B is one of the shallowest positions this year.

Shameless just gets better and better. That was quite the emotional lead in to the season finale.

Glad I dropped it after one episode. The finale of Fox’s freshman drama delivered 4.7 million viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49, putting Fox into fourth place on Monday night. The two-hour finale also fell 6 percent from last week to a season-low rating. Ending on a low note is never a good sign for a first-year show, especially since Alcatraz‘s only major broadcast scripted competition — CBS’ comedy block — was in repeats.
  4. When it comes down to a backup infielder vs a backup 1B/DH, always keep the infielder. Nice call. Supposedly Kenny hearts Escobar something crazy.
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 09:54 AM) That was incredibly confusing. I thought the same thing. I waited like a full minute for some payoff that never came.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 10:41 AM) I live in the City of Chicago, but in a pretty good area...but I agree with this nonetheless. I honestly don't care about the color of the person/people walking in my direction so much as I'm judging (or prejudging as it were) them on a number of other factors, such as how loud they're being, how they're dressed, how they're acting, etc... And I do that...but it's not about being racist...to me it's about being aware. Exactly. However, I'm not running outside and tracking down people who look suspicious or different, because I'd have no causality to do so. This is where the problem lies. Did Zimmerman act lawfully? Sure, fine, whatever. He also went out looking for trouble and found it. There is one thing we can all safely state as fact. If Zimmerman doesn't tail Martin for no reason, if he simply alerts the authorities and STOPS right there, well, he's not in any trouble right now and a 17 year old kid is still alive. That's a fact. Now, given that FACT, I FEEL Zimmerman should be punished since he was out looking for trouble and found it. When it results in someone dying, that alone is criminal enough for me. Sadly, it won't be for the justice system.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 10:31 AM) I agree with this 100%. It's prejudice, yes...but racist? I'm not sure I agree with the racist claim when it comes to this. Yeah, I mean, to be honest... I live in Lombard, IL. It's like the safest suburb ever. When I see some white kids walking down the street, part of me still figures I'll get something hurled in my direciton, because I was an asshole teenager not so long ago. Kids suck.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 08:56 AM) I don't care who you are, everyone has a slight tendency towards racism unless they grew up in a completely mixed home and neighborhood. You can argue it all you want, but I truly believe it to be the case. I'm not saying that we see a minority and automatically wish death on them. Is it racism? To me, I could see a white kid in a hoodie or a black kid in a hoodie loitering around and have the same feelings.
  9. Pretty shocked this game is tied given how the team stormed out of the gates.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 26, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) when did Carlos sit? i honestly cannot remember Maybe his stat included last year. Boozer has started every game.
  11. This thread is as all over the place as all of these "reports" and "eye-witness accounts". We'll never know for sure what happened and what events led up to what happened. The arguments in this thread are ridiculous because no one here has any idea what they are arguing.
  12. I'm so f***ing sick of this season. I've never seen players get injured so often. The NBA should have gone for like 55 games instead of 66. The break-neck pace has made the on-court product suffer. Yes, the Bulls are winning. However, is Rose going to play at all the rest of the year? Dude had a bleeding groin for Christ's sake. Rip Hamilton is a china doll. I don't think a single player save, somehow, Carlos Boozer, has been able to stay fully healthy this year. It makes me want to break things so hard all over people's faces.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 26, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Yes of course they are, you just need to replace them in the opening day rotation right now, which you're not going to do, but call me back once I know how the first month of the season develops and then we can start legitimately talking. Balta, buddy, no one's calling you.

The wife totally spotted that Kenny's date last night on Mad Men was none other than Alex Mack.
  17. QUOTE (3E8 @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) It's remarkable since the guy who co-wrote it and starred in it isn't funny. I think Jonah Hill is quite funny.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 07:41 AM) I hope the surprise cameo isn't Johnny Depp, as I know that's not a surprise at all. Yeah, that's been all over the place. It's funny, though.
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 08:03 PM) BTW, interested to know who would have people chosen if they had the 1st pick in the draft as I did. I was tossing up b/w Lawrie and Jay Bruce, went with Lawrie because he plays more of a premium position obviously. I am so frustrated with Yahoo rankings. The fact that Lawrie was o-rank 45 was insane. IN SANE. I held him most of last year in two leagues, he played a solid month, and got injured again. His stock last year sort of blew up, but come on, Lawrie is unproven, and to be ranked in the top 50 fantasy players is ridiculous. That being said, I do love him. To answer your post, I'm not a big fan of Bruce because he significantly weighs down a category (BA).

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 07:39 AM) That's why I never got into Justified. I know it changed eventually, but I had already stopped watching by that point. It changed? It's been the same since the show started. And by that I mean brilliant. There's obviously 90% of the story that carries over from episode to episode, and sometimes you have a single episode arc. Season 3 has been all story building and completely brilliant. Even in the pilot, the case helped build for the future.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 01:20 AM) 21 Jump Street was hilarious. One of the scenes in the movie where the two main characters are on drugs is arguably the funniest scene I have ever seen. And a very unexpected cameo towards the end. I loved it. Yes. Like I said, funniest movie since "The Hangover". Channing Tatum is hilarious.
  22. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 24, 2012 -> 12:12 AM) When watching I felt that to enjoy The Hunger Games you really need to have read the book first, but apparently all my friends with me liked the movie and none of them read it so.... guess I know nothing. I think since the movie stayed so true to the book it wasn't as smooth as Harry Potter movies or I imagine Twilight is but I rather it stay true to the book as best as possible. I was actually pretty bored since the movie is literally a graphical representation of the book word for word. I know that might not make any sense, and I'm sure it's just because I so recently read the book, but I was juts hoping it'd end since ever scene in the book was described so well I felt like I'd already seen the movie. Still, they did a good job. I want to see Jennifer Lawrence's melons.
  23. You're batting .238. I'd throw you strikes, too.
