  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) Not to be a downer but that trade is still quite the loss for us. I'm glad the 11 starts Daniel Hudson had in the National League last year with a .241 BABIP convinced you he's the second coming of Christ.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) Soxtalk has been hilariously negative since 2006. True. I'm such a positive thinker when it comes to the Sox. We have an awesome roster, I don't understand all the freaking out so early in the season.
  3. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) EFJ? Spreadwin
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) What approach is that, Ive already debunked the myth that Walker preaches lift and pull. Everyone needs a scapegoat though! A scapegoat for... the Majors' top offense through 6 games! Soxtalk is hilariously negative this season. We are 4-2.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) Buuuut I might prefer Ramon Castro over AJ Pierzynski. Against say a David Price? Yes. I don't really understand why Castro wasn't out there today, especially since AJ wound up in yesterday's game as well.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) AJ did pretty much everything he could to lose this game. He's going to be, by far, the weakest link in the lineup this year. I expect everyone else to have a good year offensively, but he'll be the guy we'll be wishing weren't up in a big situation. He's a 34 year old catcher. It's to be expected. He'll be hitting 8th or 9th soon, and I'd still rather have him in there than Flowers or the handful of crap free agents that were available this offseason.
  7. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) And bias always shows. SOXTALK LECTURE!!!!
  8. Edwin Jackson is a legit stud.

    QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 12:02 PM) 6-5 is not great numbers because all the 5 need is to convince one person that they are number 6 and that if they go to the 5 theyd be top 3. I think that in the end this is going to cost him, because other people in his alliance are going to realize Rob cant be trusted. He should have slow played that move a little more, because they are only 1 bad thing happening (injury whatever) from being even numbers. I think he could have controlled Matt and Andrea, so Im not sure what the necessity for the move was. We will see how it plays out, but my guess is that looking back this will be how Rob's alliance splintered. Eh, the entire tribe agreed to get rid of Matt a second time. It was brilliant.
  11. To everyone who keeps perpetuating the weird sterotype that Milledge is a problem-child because he high-fived a fan a few years ago after a catch and I guess because he had cornrows and dreadlocks, he did not have some "huge blow up with Ozzie". Ozzie said in an interview just now that telling Milledge he had been DFA'd was "one of the hardest conversations" he's had yet as a manager.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) Very likely not large, although there could be local effects. 7.4 on a Subduction zone is not huge in terms of total displacement. These are aftershocks.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) And where are they in pitching? Again, I haven't "given up" based on anything, let alone a single roster move. My faith is just slowly going downhill. Besides, if it's too early to start losing faith in the team, why is it acceptable to dump Milledge after 2 games? Ok, how about this. The great Twins you love to fellate are -14 in run differential already while the White Sox are +6.
  14. QUOTE (whitem0nkey @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) not having Dunn is equalized that Manny will not being in. Or, you know, Evan Longoria.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:05 AM) Chris Rongey Dunn says his new timetable is tomorrow. At least he's hoping he'll play then. Not likely to PH today but didn't rule it out. (He won't) I heart Adam Dunn. The chances of my cheering him during intros is up from 0 to maybe 50% for Saturday.
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 10:56 AM) Keeping the faith is basically a Cubs mentality. I need to see the play on the field and the correct decisions made by the front office and managing staff. This is the strongest White Sox roster I have seen in a very long time. We are 5 games into the season and haven't played a home game. The team is first in baseball in runs scored and runs per game with 40 and 8.0, respectively. Why on Earth would you have you given up on the roster already?
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) Why don't you stick to discussing the team instead of insulting me. Your doom and gloom approach has probably offended him. I know it offends me when we haven't even played a home game yet! Come on, man! Keep the faith.
  18. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) It's been pointed out before, but this week (and next, IIRC from seasons past) there is an Extra Innings free preview. This is like a blessing from God when the Sox have an off day or play during the day when I'm at work. Now I can come home to a fine selection of contests instead of nothing. I just use MLB Network. Tonight they are showing Tigers/Orioles. They always have either a game on or MLB Tonight on which is basically NFL Redzone for MLB.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) I'd be extremely amused if he walked away not guilty. I'm pretty sure it's been all but a known that he's going to...
  20. I just really don't get this from a baseball perspective. The White Sox of the past 3-4 seasons have historically stunk against left-handers. Lastings had a .926 OPS against them last season, with a near .800 career mark in 500 at bats vs lefties. He was exactly what this team has craved and needed for quite some time off the bench, a lefty killer who can sub in in the outfield and at DH. It's just quite silly to release him in order to keep Brent freaking Lillibridge. OR all-in and sack up and release Teahen's worthless ass.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) I so need to do that to my SIL. Its bad enough that I have changed her name on the caller IDs to "Its Her Again". This must be a rule for SIL's. They are annoying as f***.
