  1. QUOTE (Real @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 11:44 PM) During the MLB 30 teams in 30 days, the Twins were the focus today and Dan Plesac picked the Twins to finish in 2nd place behind the White Sox, his reasons state the loss of Joe Nathan and the fact that the Sox have a much stronger rotation John Hart picks the Twins to finish first with the Sox in 2nd, and the Twins won't need game 163, Jim Thome will hit a homer to launch them into the post-season Take it for what it's worth, I know Plesac is pretty much a chicago guy A "white out" in minny, thome vs. bobby, game 163...
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) I hate that Ozzie always says things like "Give me 30 stolen bases" without ever adding "and don't get thrown out". Q's hitting 50 HR this year. I like it. I was worried this week when he said his surgically repaired left shoulder was sore, but then he went out and stroked 2 doubles, albeit off russ ortiz, but still.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 12:18 PM) So the only two battles left for the 25 are: Santos/Aquino Niz/Lillibridge/Retherford And those are probably 80% settled anyway. ozzie says he's already made up his mind. I hope it's Santos and Retherford.
  4. Bet some guys were pissed they didn't get to go to Vegas
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) Went to the Sox game in Tempe today. I had another great time. I got autographs from Ramirez, Beckham, Gartrell, Morel, Armstrong, and great pictures with Beckham and Ramirez. Also, got Chris Chambliss and Jenksy to wave, Peavy to give me a nod, a thanks from Jacob Rasner, and Tony Pena to give me a fist bump. Game wise: Rios, Peavy, and Beckham look great. Dialed in and ready to go. Matt Long looked great as well. Jenksy was shaky, nearly all of his pitches were flat, and his curves didn’t break. I saw what happened to Jared Mitchell, and it was pretty frightening. He read that ball perfectly off the bat, and hit the wall hard. He lay there as rounds of applause, and chants of “Web Gem,” echoed through the stadium. I hope he’s ok. great to hear the birds-eye view, thanks
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Dave Dravecky had cancer cut out of his pitching shoulder then pitched again 10 months later but in his 2nd start back pitching to Tim Raines his arm just snapped. thats the one
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:14 PM) Geoff Jenkins at third is one of the worst I've ever seen and Ruben Mateo at first to a much lesser extent. Remember that guy from San Francisco, who ended up having his arm amputated. Hameker I think?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) Ventura did a little more than twist an ankle. remember that? I had a hard time watching that.
  9. QUOTE (MEANS @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) they sure took care of Saunders real quick love that pic - grandma's boy is genius
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) Brett
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) Nobody on the team with that name. check out the brain on brad!
  12. teahan should stop tweeting and start hitting
  13. I thought it was a beat writer putting pressure on the twinkies to pony up. I can't imagine him saying no to 20mil/season. Could he get more on the open market? Yes, but that's a fair hometown discount, imo.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 09:20 AM) I didn't realize he was good with farm animals. You haven't seen those pictures?
  15. they say Jenks is nursing a sore calf -- isn't that what he went down with at the end of the season, a sore calf?
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:51 AM) I can only imagine the haul that Mauer would command if he were traded this season. it would be sickening
  17. the undefeated indians come to the ranch today, looking forward to watching that one
  18. Tiger fans getting excited about Willis. Again.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Yeah, can't really disagree with that. Wasn't it Hunter who complained that white players wore #42 on April 15th and said it cheapens it? did he really? what an ass
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) Not to mention two of the greatest spring training all stars ever Joe Crede and Paul Konerko, who then go north and seemingly forget how to hit until Memorial Day. Crede used to frustrate the hell out of me with that.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 07:15 AM) They always seem to be able to plug in some no-namer into a hole and it works out for them. Neshek will be that guy, I think.
