  1. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) I should hope not. He's out for the season with a calf injury. sorry - i stopped following closely a couple of weeks ago
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 06:22 PM) Games like this from our offense are the ones that really piss me off about the lack of accountability within our coaching staff. All you can do is tip your cap
  3. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 06:02 PM) I fully agree. From what I've seen, I like the tenacity he brings out there to the mound. need more guys like him, some competitive fire. PK is such a laid back guy - not that he doesn't try to win, but he's always dissing on what he calls "rah rah" s***. Showing some life never hurt, imo.
  4. gotta say, i'm already psyched to see a healthy JP come spring. I think he sees all the talk about the transition from NL to AL as a challenge.
  5. i hate all the teams in our division - i will root for whoever they play. Watching the cards beat the tigers in 06 was a true joy.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 06:08 PM) If Detroit wins tonight, the Sox will be officially eliminated. Det. has 4 games left with Minnesota and a Det victory tonight would guarantee at least one of them would get to 83 wins. good - get it out of the way
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 06:13 PM) Sophomore slump. would be nice to see him and gavin take that next big step into the upper echelon.
  8. Danks hasn't looked as good this year as he did last - i hope he comes out strong next year.
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 22, 2009 -> 05:45 PM) I think the Twins are going to take the division. wouldn't surprise me in the least.
  10. wonder if the tigers are going to be like the cards were in 06...sneak in as the worst team and then win it all.
  11. Needless to say, this is a must win for the Sox. Everything is riding on this game. Is this a blackout game? Should be.
  12. lets at least get past the winter meetings. wow...did i really just type "winter meetings"? s***...this season really is over.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) LOL at Belize. But true. In a perfect world, we'd have Granderson on our team (I realize he has had a bad on base percentage year) as well as Bartlett. We could have Gordo at third, Bartlett at short, Lexi at second and Paulie at first. Wow. Grandy would be the cure to our leadoff woes forever. My point is we still need a couple major upgrades in our lineup. I truly think Lexi should move to second and we need a new ss. We need another productive outfielder. I'd prefer to see Rios and Jermaine gone. Bring back Thome to DH. We need a productive backup catcher. We really do. Can't we rush Danks and acquire a Grandy-type outfielder?? Make it happen. This is Chicago! Danks and Mitchell. It's going to be a beautiful thing with Gordo in there, too. Might take a couple of more years, but it will be worth it.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) If JD were putting up MVP type numbers since the AS break, would we be in 1st place? no. but it could've helped. When your 2nd best player is a rookie hitting .266/12/54, then you know you're in trouble.
  15. They had flashes of playing some great baseball. The potential was definitely there. Kenny saw it too and tried to help. NY came in red hot and the Sox cooled them off. But a common theme the last few years, including 05, was a real drop off in performance from August onward. I have no idea why. But right now, this is the worst team in baseball. We'd get beat by Belize if a game could be arranged.
  16. on the bright side, it's pretty hard to imagine this team performing any worse with runners in scoring position. seriously, put dye out of his misery already!
  17. funny what happens to the Sox when they aren't hitting the long ball. It's fugly.
