  1. i love how fields reached out to try and pull a curve ball.
  2. sounds pretty promising to me.
  3. There's no doubt that mistakes were made in building this season's team and evaluating/projecting their talent and ability. But is it right to fire them (KW, Ozzie, coaches) over this? Or have they earned the opportunity to try and turn things around? That to me is the question. And while a lot of people are sick of bringing up '05, I do think it's earned them the opportunity to try and get it right.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) You really can't even blame him anymore. I just feel sorry for the guy. He just said, what seems to me, to be the "We quit." statement. He said "I just gotta change my style. Gotta go and have some fun." worked once before. this team is tight as a drum up there. anything to loosen them up. Not that it's going to turn around the season, but WTF, it can't hurt.
  5. I'm seriously beginning to think this is as good as it's going to get with this team this season - the occasional 3-4 game winning streak, followed by weeks of mediocrity.
  6. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) The Message board sure is quite when the team sucks ass. I remember how much fun it used to be when we had a competitive team. Sigh.... it's like listening to rush limbaugh...mopes like myself venting outrage at the liberals Sox
  7. i'm so glad we signed javy to a long term deal. insult to injury.
  8. with wang having trouble finding the strike zone, why in the hell would mack swing at the first pitch? this guy's a veteran?
  9. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) i've never been so excited for one of our guys to be injured. josh fields is not a savior. And I hate the fact that Crede's hurt. Fields can't hold his jock on the defensive side, he said as much during ST.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) Aybar is so overrated on this site, it's scary. nah, he's good. that and the fact that I'm so over juan uribe. this already posted?
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) Too bad we don't have a "Greg Walker Lynch Mob thread" that we could put this in...
  12. tough times to be a sox fan
  13. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) That shows you how bad Paulie is right now. He prolly hit one of the hardest balls all year for him right there and it was about 80 feet from the track. Hawk just shut up about these players getting ready to take off. BTW, Mack nice DP. is he talking about the sox or the yankees?
  14. i miss the old sox who would claw their way back into this one.
  15. jeter did not just go from first to third on that s***
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:38 PM) Can I be optimistic and say that I think Dye's going to make this 4-1. stick to pessimism.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Jeter has no range. Uribe EASILY makes both of those plays (the hits). Now I will wait for somebody to interpret this as me saying Uribe is better than Jeter. Uribe's a chick magnet. DJ can't compete.
  18. texas puts up a 5 spot on nate robertson in the first. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) Unfortunately, we need righties...and does anyone care what stats you rack up in Pittsburgh? Those stats are as relevant as what MacDougal or Sisco did for the Royals. that's funny
  19. side note: damaso marte sporting a 0.98 ERA with 19 K's in 18 IP
  20. looks like Mark might fall victim to another shutout. f***
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Will Buehrle have to be Cintron's cut-off man tonight on grounders to 3rd? for s***s and giggles during the game, take a look at Yankee fans game thread
  22. I feel bad for Joe. He was starting to blister the ball then got hurt. He hasn't been the same at the plate since that cubs series.
  23. Kenny also says... "Josh Fields, I think, is ultimately going to be an All-Star," Williams said Monday after spending a week scouting the Sox's minor league system. "I think he's going to be a special player." do you believe him? do you trust his assessment?
