QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 13, 2008 -> 12:35 AM) I have no idea what the intention of your post was, but I hope you enjoy being alone in 9th place in the Big 10 now, as opposed to being tied for 10th before tonight. Really, enjoy it. If you can't tell by the caps/no caps, kind of a joke post, and Krush was there tonight, no? Furthermore, kind of hard to talk s*** as a Minnesota bball fan. First time in forever you are actually a better team than us, and you still haven't beat us in 18 (?) games. Enjoy this (whatever this is) while it lasts, I guess. -

QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) You weren't watching Spencer Tollackson tonight then. Tonight was the worst Gopher basketball game I've ever personally watched, and I went to almost all of the games last year when we were 9-22. Everyone on the court looked drunk, and had no composure at all. Add in Illinois shooting 60% overall (and 58% from behind the arc), with the Gophers shooting 34.5% (and 30% from downtown) and that has the makings for a terrible, terrible game. Also (mostly because of my earlier post, I feel obligated to say this), the referees were the worst group I've watched all season as well, for both teams. The amount of ticky tacky calls was ridiculous, they had no idea when not to blow the whistle. Absolutely horrible, but at least the Gophers were bad enough that it didn't make a difference in the game. oRaNgE kRuShEd QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 11:17 PM) IU hit up with more major allegations, won't get punished until Summer. Have fun with that IU fans -

QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 12, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) Illinois is in town tonight... I can't wait to get back from the game to see a number of posts in here complaining about how bad the refs are and how you guys can't wait to see Pruitt/Randle graduate That is if you don't hear it from the Orange Krush up at the barn tonight. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 11:53 PM) Havlat only played 4Mins according to Yahoo. Any reason? Tough loss, but when you get outshot by 16, you probably should be thankful to get a point on the road. Reportedly throwing up throughout the 1st period. -

That was goaltender interference, period. I just rewatched it in slo-mo about 5 times to confirm what I thought I saw. Kicked habby's left leg out on the stop, sending him sliding and having no chance to stop it with his right pad, which was in decent position originally. Furthermore, Shannon was falling due to the interference, which allowed him to slowly and easily put it into an empty net. Brutal no-call. -

The random line generator spit out Ruutu on the 2nd line and Buff on the 3rd. Brilliant! -
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) Since Wranglers is the only one on that list I get, then Wranglers hands down. Others: Levi, Inner City Energy, City Streets (mostly for dress pants). 2 cents, other than maybe dress pants/clothes, anyone who spends over 75 bucks for a pair of pants should be shot. BTW, I'll plan my burning of the Navy store very soon. EDIT: just saw Levi on the list Man I shouldn't just quick scan the list. Levi... probably my fav, but voted for Wranglers (usually my work jeans) Status. Symbol. Agreed.

If not for the way we played you last time, I'd say we have no chance tonight. I'd say we have about a 25% chance to win this game, and if we do it'll be by less than 5 pts. On the other side of that coin, wouldn't shock me if we lost by 15, and that would be 'fitting'. -

I could care less whether he goes now or later. You could have dan kelly coach the damn team the rest of the way and he'd do a better job than Savvy. He'll likely last the year, but I hope he's axed immediately after. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) Two points: 1. I am already embarassed at tonight's events in Champaign, and they haven't even happened yet. Gordon changed his mind after IU got a new coach, and went to a better team since this is the only year he'll be in college anyways. That, and Weber couldn't recruit until Jerrance Howard arrived. 2. Anybody mad at Eric Gordon and who is an Illinois fan is a hypocrite. Illinois signed four players yesterday who decommited from other schools. All teams in NCAA football and basketball benefit and are hurt by decommits, just the way it is in today's world. While you have some valid points, you are basically posting this because you hate Weber. Had this exact same situation happened with a coach who you liked, you'd change your tune and you damn well know it. To just give Gordon and Sampson a free pass on this is laughable. You act like Bruce made this happen. GMAFB. Gordon deserves everything booing and heckling wise that he gets, as does Sampson. I'm not wishing injury or anything out of line on Gordon, but if it's hell for them to listen to all night, that's deserved, and to think it isn't is ignorant. -

First, St. Pierre. He's a pretty nice little player, I've seen him play a ton in the AHL, but I don't know if he's a guy that will ever be an NHLer. Versteeg and Kontiola should be up asap, those guys showed something in their time up here. Same with Bolland. And yeah he wasn't great on the PP, but at this point, anything's worth a whirl, as the PP has sucked for a while now. My only concern (and Tony this builds off your point about deciding who's who and what's what in Rockford) is that it's hard to figure out who's worth a damn when they are constantly being sent up/down, playing on a different line every night, playing small minutes, and playing under Savvy. So I think that makes it even harder for Dale to figure out. I think the fact that the the farm is so close (compared to Norfolk) has made it that much easier to just yank these kids around and be trigger happy with callups and sending them back. Maybe I'm wrong but it sure seems like it (I know there have been a ton of injuries, but guys aren't up for very long, etc). It's just like 'hey, who's next up for a small stint?' Tony I know what you are saying about the arrow. f*** at this point we're all probly a little bit far on the negative side because we're so into this, but so be it. I just know it's pointing up (to what "degree" or whatever I don't know), and it's just good to have that for once. Your analysis of the 'core' or what not is good. You add some FA's to that and guys like Wiz, Sharp, Sopel are true secondary contributors and excellent ones at that. I left out Havlat because Havlat has to be one of our top players. To count on him for anything other than being our top line winger is a shame (I think you guys get what I'm saying...I refuse to pencil him in as a secondary guy). Basically like you said, Dale is really gonna have to strike it rich in FA or trade (minimum 2 total guys in the top 6/top 4 d) to put this team in a position to compete with everyone next year. FA is the easiest obviously because we don't have to give up any of our youngsters or picks, but now we have to hope guys want to play here and that we have enough funds for them. -

Well yeah, I don't want a guy to learn on the job whatsoever. I want a vet, period. Who the right guy is I am not sure, but there is a right guy out there for this team, or at least a much better fit than Savvy. -

This isn't the answer you want, but...does it matter? In my mind this isn't a "keep coach A until you know you can secure a better coach B." I just don't think he's the right guy for this team (maybe not any team) with all the inexperience and youth, etc. I just don't see it. This isn't a team that can put up with a coach that is 'learning how to coach' as well.
