  1. Sharks beat the Ducks 2-1 tonight. Shots in the third period: Sharks 17, Ducks 0. Yes, you are reading that right. Sharks are 14-0-1 in their last 15. Yikes.
  2. /all respectable IU fans look away (so all but 2 of you) Eat s*** IU. Glad to see the mess Sampson started ended this way.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 12:22 PM) Everything was nuts last night, Grand, Park, Wall and even 13 were all closed off for a while. Of course my friends and I are dumb asses and had to adventure around the whole damn city in shorts and were pretty much swimming in this stuff. Like you said, I'm not really sure what's up with the drainage here but it's awful, still last night is the worst I've seen it. Between this and the absolutely crazy ice storms last month(I got a big scar across my forehead for the rest of my life thanks to those), the weather has just been insane here and it sure doesn't help that people in Southern Illinois just don't know how to deal with bad weather. I want you to explain how ice storms gave you a big scar on your head. Go ahead, I can't wait to hear it QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 10:21 PM) I get to play ball for an im championship at the SIU arena next Wednesday. yay. Will your shooting percentage automatically take a 20% hit just by playing on that floor?
  4. We're not going to make the playoffs, but at this point it sure is satisfying to make Steve2489534 look like a bigger retard with every passing game. Where art thou, resident hockey expert?
  5. IU announces this committee search thing right before the tournament starts for what reason? And who the hell are half these people on there? Seems bizarre to me.
  6. This is what you would call...well...a bad goal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15OgO7Eis9k
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 05:57 PM) ESPNews in HD is going to be f***ing amazing. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/03/17/...ook-like-in-hd/ Will it be commonplace if you currently have espnnews, or on some sports tier you have to pay for is the question
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 06:34 AM) I don't see how there is anyway the Hawks can trade Havlat this off-season, unless 1. They pick up half or more of the tab, which unless they really need the 3 million, it's probably a bad move, or 2. They take on a equally bad contract. This last injury was a killer, as he is in Joe Crede territory, with no one knowing if he can play anymore. #1 isn't allowed
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) Where is that certain poster at who's been rubbing mine and another posters face (in what I'm not exactly sure) in Lalime's awesomeness? Terrible time for his worst performance of the season. Oh well... Well what really makes this great is he came on here last week after they beat Minnesota and said how Lalime is so much better and how he's right and we're all ignoring him now, not too long after he got lit by the Kings and the Ducks and the Stars. After all, as soon as we get rid of Habby's overpriced ass this team will be fine. It was never the team in front of him, the coach behind the bench. It was ALL goaltending. The start and end according to Steve's deep analysis. Well Habby's last game was a shutout, the 3-0 win against the Wild where he made 38 saves, IIRC. Then he got hurt. A blessing in disguise for the Hawks, right Stevey? Habby's 5 games before getting hurt, as the team 'got back into the race' 2 goals on 40 shots, .950 1 goal on 27 shots, .963 2 goals on 34 shots, .941 2 goals on 26 shots, .923 0 goals on 38 shots, 1.000 5 games, 7 goals against (1.40) 158/165=.957 Let's take a look at Lalime's numbers since that Minnesota game: Kings: 5 goals on 39 shots, .872 Ducks: 5 goals on 25 shots, .800 Coyotes: 0 goals on 32 shots, 1.000 Stars: 5 goals on 13 shots, .615 Canucks: 1 goal on 10 shots, .900 Wild: 2 goals on 30 shots, .933 Sharks: 3 goals on 23 shots, .870 Oilers: 6 goals on 25 shots, .760 8 games, 27 goals against (3.38) 170/197=.862 I'd love to see Steve's post had Habby threw up Friday's and Sunday's performance. ************** So, Keith, hopefully he's off finding a new hobby

  11. Lalime with two softies tonight, just for the record. SJ controlled the puck the majority of the game, we really couldn't get much of a cycle going for much of the game. As such, not many scoring chances. Thornton is a joy to watch, he's just impossible to get off the puck. SJ played like the team on a crazy winning streak, especially defensively. Collapsed time and space in the neutral zone and defensive zone and their d was pretty good getting the puck up on the breakout. They are a dangerous playoff team if they get everything they can get out of Nabokov. Best part of the actual game was Harvey Wittenberg doing the PA. That was some seriously sweet s*** right there. We weren't going to go undefeated the rest of the way. Was hoping to at least get a point tonight at home, but to no avail. Need a big game Sunday now before a rough 2 game stretch back to back.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:08 AM) I really love how I was greatly chastised for claiming that Patrick Lalime was a better goaltender than Nikolai Khabibulin, have been proven correct, yet am still generally ignored by the two who flipped out on me in this thread for making such an "outrageous" point. Classy. You keep thinking whatever you want, you weren't around much when he got lit up by the Kings, Ducks, and Stars for 18 goals, were you. He faced 10 shots sunday, too. But he's SO much better than Habby, even though their stats are pretty much even right now as well.
  13. Ovechkin has a hat trick... in the first period, with 5 mins left.
  14. And like I knew the instant it happened, he's apparently done. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...0,2671124.story
  15. QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 10:15 PM) My family and I had a Blast today The National Anthem was as loud as I remember it at the Stadium and our seats were alot better than I thought they'd be. My kids are already asking when we can go again. Your memory has failed you
  16. Cmon whitesox.com, this is the 2nd time you've put sisco up on the main page and said that it's danks in the caption.
  17. Let em play here. Let's welcome them in with open arms and make them feel like they're at home. Turn off the jumbotron, close all parking lots, close half the bathrooms, and only sell hot dogs and popcorn at the concession stands. As an added bonus, I'll volunteer to drop bricks on people's heads periodically throughout each game.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) Was able to watch the game tonight at a Tucson Hooters. Solid game. Didn't think Bryz was tested much with good chances, but the Hawks played well. Showtime said Havlat could be injured again, which would be par for the course. I just hope he has some kinda of value left, as I would LOVE for Tallon to dump his ass in the off-season. He's likely done. Gloves off, holding arm, slowly limps to bench (that's what I texted Showtime and Keith). It's ridiculous.
  19. QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) Nowadays I wear my cap straight billed no bend in it.Kinda tougher look. LOL, if that's how you want to term it. I have a 'perfect curve', that helps the bill out. Otherwise you can use a rubber band if you're careful with it. Also, wearing it in the rain for a little while helps it form to your head better. That or get a decent sweat going in it.
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 11:52 PM) Check out the first and third stars in the Carolina game tonight. Then duck your head in a pillow and weep gently. No one should actually have to go look to figure it out, but yeah, I watched the highlights already, not cool.
  21. To me this is how you make trades in fantasy sports, not real life: http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/mckenzie/?id=230592 No names we didn't already suspect, but this is kind of odd.
