  1. Well that's the million (pun intended?) dollar question Tony It is odd looking at it 3 seasons later
  2. I'd rather not pay 9 mil for Hossa and have that cap hit for that many years. That would be by far worse than not signing him.
  3. You either overpay and then maybe you get one of Campbell/Hossa, or you try to get them for perceived market value and get neither. So you don't really win either way.
  4. f***, really wanted to see if we could snatch Rolston. That's the guy I really wanted. No guarantee anything gets done though, so we'll see. Looks like we could get Huselius as the big name forward if he's gone though.
  5. You are such a young little piece of s***.
  6. So, did they play with wind going out, and we played with wind going in? No one makes this thread if we hit a s***load of them out, wind-aided or not. Just give it up, we got killed.
  7. Who gives a flying f***? We got our ass handed to us. f***ing stupid thread.
  8. It wasn't a home run, it's a really poor angle they have. I rewatched the normal angle and slowed it down, and it didn't hit near it. And you could see on that replay they showed that it didn't hit the foul pole anywhere. If it was even close, don't you think there would have been any sort of argument? Whole Sox bench has the same angle.
  9. WHY WASN'T JENKS IN? WHAT THE f*** IS OZZIE THINKING? Nice to see the cubs fans litter the field with garbage.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) On the road, the ball kicking off wall he had to try for triple. You really know next to nothing about baseball.
  11. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) The one thing I will say, is it wouldn't have been out of the question to being in Line instead of Dotel in that situation. It could be very easily argued that the 7th with 3-4-5 up was much more important than the 8th, therefore you bring in your better pitcher in Linebrink, then pitch Dotel in the 8th. I agree with this. I realized right away why Danks was out looking at who was due up, and yes, I perhaps though Linebrink could have taken the 7th, but I'm not gonna nail it on Ozzie for using Dotel, considering he has been pretty effective this year overall. But yes, good point.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) We sacrificed Danks for Juan Uribe. Even though Uribe got a hit, that's LOL worthy. I'm willing to bet almost anything, postgame, Ozzie will say it's because who was due up for the cubs, NOT because he simply wanted a PH - Uribe at that. When you're up 3-1 that's not the logic. Down 3-1, it is. You PH for anyone.
  13. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) Also, does Linebrink have some clause in his contract where he can only pitch 1 inning at a time? You think if we sign a SU guy for practically 20 million over 4 years that he'd be able to pitching 2 innings. I felt strongly that Linebrink should have been the 7th inning guy. I like Dotel and all, but he has shown he can't be trusted late in close ball games, IMO. He's way too streaky. So everytime we have a lead after 6, linebrink's supposed to do 2? Linebrink can pitch 2, but then he's toast the next day. I'd rather have him available tomorrow as well, instead of banking on 2 shutout innings. You can't win with a bullpen of 2-3 guys close & late. Dotel f***ed up today, the end.
  14. He didn't pull Danks for a PH, he pulled him because the heart of the Cubs order was due up in the 7th, all righties. He was going with a righty there, I believe. You aren't jumping at the chance to simply PH for your pitcher because he leads off. Now, if we're down 3-1 there, he's being PH for pretty much no matter what the situation is or who's due up for the cubs.
  15. QUOTE (Balance @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) MJH are saying that Cabrera's "foul" in the 7th should have been a homer. I can't say; I'm stuck in my office. It wasn't a home run from the original view. The one replay angle really makes it look like it hit the pole; but it is indeed only the weird angle that does it. I rewatched the live feed a bunch, and it's easily foul.
  16. wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,7834749.story
  17. Yeah, I hope Sampson and his returning crew doesn't shove it down our throats.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) For those familiar with All State arena how does their seat numbering work? Are the double letters, such as BB in front of single letters, such as A, or is it the other way around? For the half arena concert formation would tickets in sec 101 BB or sec 115 A be better seats? Thanks The double letters (like 6-7 rows) are in front of the single letters
  19. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 09:31 AM) Rumors that Jokinen could be dealt to the Wild, the Sedin Twins are available, and Marleau's still on the block, depending on what happens with Brian Campbell. Jokinen and Toews as a 1-2 punch down the middle would be very tempting, but then you'd have to use Robert Lang as a #3 center, and that's not his role. If you could trade Lang for a draft pick (say a 2nd rounder), and then trade the 1st for either Marleau or Jokinen, I would look into that possibly. If the Hawks can get Jok for the right deal, it'd be fantastic. Jok is one hell of a hockey player and would be the other top end forward we need to get to the next level. And yeah, Tony's right, if that happens, Lang would be flipped somewhere. The return probably wouldn't be very good, but that's not a big deal. But he is a guy a team would take because his contract status isn't bad.
  20. Someone shoot Hawk. How many times did he mention Ozuna's error COSTING the sox 6 runs? Completely excusing Floyd though he was getting lit up all over the yard before, and after, the error. You could, you know, pitch around it? They are technically unearned, but Hawk really misses the boat by just harping on the error when it's done and over with and Floyd is getting hit up. Ozuna didn't give up all the moon shots after it, those are earned hits. You think Floyd's answer is, "well, they were unearned, so it wasn't my fault?" It's unbelievable to listen to him, he just detracts from the game. I seriously may listen to Len and Bob this weekend.
  21. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241180&lid...s=headlines_nhl A well deserved shot for Johnny. I wish him the best, that's for sure.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 12:11 PM) Patrick Kane just got even better. Well, not really...it just is reinforcing the fact that the refs should be quicker to blow it down for an interference call, and do away with unnecessary contact. I don't really see this effecting players and making them better, just attempting to protect against injury.
  23. You 21 yet? Have a good one buddy
